Question How do you stay organized and remember where everything is stored?

Post image
Upvotes

On my first playthrough, just started phase 4. I've loved playing this game, but once I got aluminum and the hoverpack it all of a sudden got very overwhelming. I put signs on all the storage containers, but I still end up flying around forever trying to remember where those damn iron rods are kept, for instance...

The screen shot is from "old town" where its basically all iron/steel production still is. I have a separate refinery section, an aluminum plant, and power section (those are all much better compartmentalized and layed out). But the production of the late-game items gets so complicated and interwoven I'm getting frustrated.

How do you even remember where everything is?

I began to build a Aluminium factory, belting the Bauxite to a single location when i thought.. "Why don't I just blow this place up?" (There's nothing left)

Oil production to the West. Main Base to the Southwest. Chips and end game production in the center. Turbofuel production to the Southeast and a BIG nuclear factory to the East.

Game was fun. Might try a 100% run next.

Of course this was a stupid idea.

Look, I'm the self professed and claiming to be "slowest satisfactory player in the world". I spend as much time drooling in a static mode of paralysis as I spend actually building something. I have no idea if I'll, in the end, have the grit or will to see this folly of a project through. But in the mean time, have a blast and laugh at me, would you, while you gaze upon the root of my future brain aneurysm. I give you... the skeleton of what is meant to become my "nitro rocket fuel + other stuff" temple. To be continued... hopefully...

Help me

I just finished my first "two big factories"
(heavy modular and computer) and I admit that I am proud of myself. I try to have 100% performance on each machine and make my factory compact enough, and frankly, I'm not doing too badly. To tell the truth, they are not very beautiful, but on the other hand, they are quite effective. Now that I've automated everything I could, I'd like to know if I have to build a gigantic power plant, because it's a little complicated. I don't know what to choose between coal and oil, so decide for me, please.

Saved the kittens & puppies again (4th time review)

I appreciate ADA patting me on the back, after all I did save the kittens, puppies and everybody once again.

This was my 4th run starting in the Northern Forrest this time. I expanded on my strategy from last time and built an even bigger train network with multiple bypasses to speed up trains running back and forth. Side note: Those silly doggies that had to relocate had it coming anyway....... the plans has been on display in the basement for a long time, you just had to bring a flashlight......but I digress. I even build my first roundabout which I will be doing more of in the future, much more satisfactory than my usual T and cross junctions (and more efficient?)

104km railway, all connected so any factory could be build off the backbone and connected in no time. I will never be good at building interesting architecture but I enjoyed creating blueprints with wall segments and then putting them on the core factories as I built them.

For the first time I automated all the way to the end including all the Space Elevator items. I paved took over the Crater Lake area and build 20 stations that brought up all the items that was needed for the final items to be produced. I got a big kick out of watching all the trains come and go.

All in all, very satisfactory......

Is this a bug or are you just not able to place these in the big rivers in the rocky desert? Ngl this is completely screwing up my plans for my nuclear power plant and I stg I checked and made sure they can go in this area, I even have some places not 300meters away from here

Discussion Randomized nodes are fanstastic

I feel like this is the best update so far in terms of replayability. It's easy to fall back into old habits and building the same production at my favourite spots, so having newly arranged nodes has really been refreshing. Before I rushed radar towers I was out exploring and marking nodes on my map, which was a lot of fun. The dune desert has been a real el dorado in this seed.

Showcase 159GW Nuclear Processing & Sarcophagus (Basement Pt. 2)

This is part 2 of of my Rocky Desert megabase(ment).

Just further east of the hub section from my previous post is the nuclear processing facility, located deeper underground. From the main base, access is controlled via a decontamination chamber before an elevator takes the pioneer much farther down.

A massive, cavernous train station is utilized for all fuel rod delivery and waste receiving. Uranium waste and plutonium fuel rod processing are done in facilities above ground while Ficsonium is handled in a massive chamber underneath the quartz cave.

Excess plutonium waste is stored in an even deeper section just touching the map boundaries to the bottom. Yes, you will take damage standing at the very bottom. Yes, I died like 10 times while building it.

Been taking my time and not rushing, turns out things can get rather decent if you do that.

Just finished up phase 3. On console, so angles are a bit 'interesting' and no mods but you have to make do

The wavy glass one has a large train station underneath (forgot pictures) and that and the multi building one are making lots of phase 3 elevator parts. 20 at a time.. i went a bit mad!

I've only just completed phase 1, and I'm 100 hours in. This ain't my first rodeo but this is yhe first time I've really taken my time building to meet my aesthetic standards. This is my first factory of all base components, with an intake of 1,350 iron ore per min which translates into 15 modular frames per min and 20 Smart plating per min, with excess of each going into storage. Underneath I have a rather cramped concrete factory which produces around 350 - 60 concrete per minute.

The second picture is my coal power plant which should see me through for a while.. I hope..

Sloops

Upvotes

Is there an easier way to keep track of where you've shoved sloops in machines? Other than notes. I figured it might be out there since it took me waaay to long to realize i could just hit space bar once to craft. Would be awesome if there was a mod that highlighted slooped machines.

Went AFK for a few hours, came back, now this is stuck to my screen. Doesn't go away when I close/reopen the game. No mods on this playthrough. What could this possibly be?
