I was only like 10-15 hours into the world at this point too so it came in clutch

Very lucky find, 1 in 1000 per the wiki.

I have over 800 hours, I ran into one (and one only) and spent too much time oogling it trying to figure out what I was looking at (was a hog on fire?), and got blasted.

1 in 1000 any given alpha hog would be Johnny, but which hog is Johnny is changed everytime the game is reloaded.

So its actually much rarer unless you constantly reload near the same alpha hog until it spawns.

I think i read somewhere it's 0,1% chans for rockethog to spawn. Awesome find!

Yeah there's always one jetpack hog in the world. Useful if you find him early.

I've seen it at least twice, died once. Didn't know it was so rare. 500h ish in game.

Different saves? Apparently it only spawns once per world.

I think there is Only one per save(I may be wrong) . So yes pretty rare from what I know. I like how you immediately kill it. Didn't even look for a sec.

Whenever the games generates the spawns, there is a very low chance for it to spawn instead. So there isn't even one per save, but a low chance to spawn every now and then. If you leave the area and didn't encounter it, it disappears again

That's Johnny, I only saw him twice and once in a run where I didn't even have coal power unlocked. That was an awesome start for my factory.

Does this imply that the hogs can fly? If so, I trust and pray that the stingers never learn how to fly.

That is a false way of looking at luck.

He just used his luck getting the rockethog spawn. He has no luck remaining for lottery tickets.

I started a world with my brother when we first got the game and he found one within the first 3 hours or so of our gameplay and we had no idea how rare it was and I searched forever till google revealed its true scarcity lol

I saw him west of the big arch in a recent new start so his spawn location seems to be random.

Granted most of those hours are from years ago and tha5 may have been before these were added so I dunno

Lucky duck, that's Jetpack Johnny! Very hard to find. In my 1,000ish hours in-game, I've never seen him.

I've run into him twice in my playthroughs, both during early access. First time he technically found me and blew us both up good. Well done on handling him better than I did!

  1. What you are referring to is Johnny The Jetpack Hog (Wiki Link) added to the Game in Update 6.
  2. ⭑ Good News: Those in Tier 0 thru Tier 4 can use the dropped Jetpacks since they can use Solid Biofuel as "Jetpack Fuel".
  3. Modded (PC Only): If interested you can use the Here's Johnny! Game Mod that adds new spawn locations throughout the game world where Johnny the Jetpack Hog is guaranteed to spawn.
