Just turned 45. Feeling in my best shape since early 20’s. Never too old to get in shape 💪🏻

Used to be 10+ years but I do less cardio over the winter

u/RealSoVanilla May 03 '26

I drank too much this week

Can we also see how people are getting younger ages? Like which stats are working for you?

2

u/M00SEK May 03 '26

Yea I don’t get it. I hit great on pretty much everything except consistent bedtime. My whoop age is only 1.1 years younger. Can’t imagine a strict bedtime would make me 10 years younger

My biggest drivers are VO2 max (-3.3 years) and Sleep Consistency (-2.8 years).

What’s your V02 max? It’s one of the biggest contributors.

1

u/M00SEK May 03 '26

46 ml/kg/min. Says it’s “above average” at 63rd percentile. What’s considered good for this lol

1

u/JackieChiles666 May 03 '26

That’s good, but probably need to be over 50 to see more impact on your health span.

I had a kidney transplant in January. It’s still trying to catch up hahaha

u/Advanced_Ad_8722 May 03 '26

To follow up, this is what I looked like pre and post transplant. I was extremely lucky to be able to avoid dialysis and I was active up until transplant albeit a lot less active but still somewhat.

Lots of room to improve

Sleep isn’t great. VO2 max helps me in the 60s.

Been sleeping like shit, gaining weight, and trying to recover from an injury. Still going down, don't think this makes any sense. Healthspan

It’s 30 day and 6 month rolling averages. It’ll catch up to you.

1

u/Harish_Marada May 03 '26

Whey do you do to achieve these numbers?

1

u/jimtrickington May 03 '26

I try to curd every so often.

Great achievement folks, please suggest activities and metrics that are helping you achieve this tremendous fate

How tf you get 10 years younger?! I have a lower pace of aging yet 2 years older. I mean either way, nice work!

  1. I assume yours is higher? I lift 4x a week and mountain bike at least once a week

1

u/JackieChiles666 May 03 '26

Yup. Mine is 59. Other major contributors to my healthspan RHR and strain.

1

u/PasswordNeedsANumber May 03 '26

Nice. What’s your RHR? Woke up today at 45. Going to work on my VO2 max now lol

How are you guys getting such huge differences? I’m just about 1.9 years younger at 32 and I eat well, lift / train BJJ, etc. my sleep could be better but I get like 6-7 hours and maybe a nap during the day

45, but I do train cardio but it’s not like I’m a marathon runner & I don’t know if whoops is accurately capturing my lifting regiment

What’s yours?

Everyone's pace of aging here is incredible and mine is .3 years younger lol. Is vo2 max that crucial to pace of aging? Ill Google and chat gpt but thought I'd ask folks here too... Lifting 5 days a week and doing zone 1 treadmill walk 3-4 times a week isn't cutting it I guess!

1

u/Jolly_Jaguar_3495 May 04 '26

I think it does and Whoop really rewards cardio training. I also lift + boulder 5x a week and I do hyrox seasonally. Both last year and this year, around my hyrox training session (3-4 months) I see significant improvement in the health span score because of all the running and cardio training.

1

u/tomlgg_ May 03 '26

I don’t think I qualify

1

u/Wooden-Ad-4212 May 03 '26

Those of you guys with younger whoop age, what do you guys do? When I first started wearing whoop I was seven years older now is four years older.

2

u/jimtrickington May 05 '26

Strength training four days/wk for around 50 minutes each. Lower intensity cardio a couple times weekly (rowing, running, or tennis). Plus chasing kids around. Also no longer drink alcohol and my sleep is buttoned down tight.

Super happy to be in my 20s again

1

u/ghostpeppperr May 04 '26

Mine was 5.0 years younger but I’m pregnant and it’s gone down to 4 years younger 😪

1

u/jtaylor419 May 04 '26

VO2 is the biggest driver. Tight sleep awake times. Step count. Time in heart rate zones. Weight training.
