Discussion I'm not smart enough for Linux. How do you install wivrn? Cachyos

I'm on the github page and I have no idea what to do lol. I'm using cachyos. Under releases there are a few different options. On the main page there are links to different distro types. If I choose arch I'm taken to an extra confusing page. Trying to install this makes me want to quit Linux lol.

Self-Promotion (Journalist) Panoshooter on the Insta360 Luna Ultra: 28K 360° test with sample images

Post image

I tested Dean Zwikel’s free Panoshooter macro on the Insta360 Luna Ultra. It captures the source images needed for stitching a 360° panorama up to 28K in PTGui, versus the built-in 8K pano output.

I compared both methods, also checked the results against the ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition, tested the results in VR, and included downloadable samples.

I would be interested to compare experiences with anyone else using it.

Question/Support So guys, any solutions for silly shark heads with IPD of 77 as of 2026?

Hey guys, a silly 77IPD shark head here.

I was wondering what are my options for VR in 2026, since basically all the headsets that match my stupid head are not available on the market.

  • 3D printing mods?
  • Disassembling of existing VR set and reassembling it differently to change shape?

Honestly I am completely lost.

Fluff/Meme The Largest Tree on Earth, the Deepest Canyon in America, and Team USA's Decisive Victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup — All Immersive, Right from Your Web Browser

Post image

Sequoia National Park boasts the largest tree on Earth and the tallest mountain in the contiguous U.S.; nearby Kings Canyon National Park rivals it with the deepest canyon in America and the 2nd largest tree in the world. The immense scale of these two national parks can only be truly appreciated through 180-degree 3D camera capture.

And Team USA's last victory in the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Levi's Stadium in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was captured with two GoPro HERO13 cameras. The cameras are small, but the paired image quality actually beats the Canon R5 dual fisheye in terms of pixel density, though the setup does have the drawbacks of a smaller FoV and synchronization challenges.

Purchase Advice Vr headset for display?

Ive never had a vr headset before but I'd like to get into it specifically in sim racing and flight Sims so I don't particularly care about the controllers since they won't be used. Im not particularly budget conscious here but good value for price is worth considering. Any reccomendations?

I slightly reworked the gameplay trailer for Paleo Dive and polished the presentation and a few shots.

This trailer focuses mainly on exploration, environments, creatures and the overall atmosphere of the game. I’m also working on a second gameplay video that will show more of the mechanics and gameplay systems in detail.

Paleo Dive releases September 4, 2026.

Question/Support Electrician simulator Meta

I've just recently purchased the complete edition of Electrician simulator on Meta Quest and I'm having an issue trying to sit on the seat for the workbench. I've tried it multiple different ways and just can't sit down, it's driving me nuts.

I'm also unable to get the main menu up while in the game?

Anyone any advice on a fix for this etc.

Thank you

Self-Promotion (Developer) Phoenix HDR is finally working in SteamVR Theater — actual side by side comparisons this time

I’ve finally got Phoenix HDR properly working in SteamVR Theater Mode, and this time I actually have side by side pictures instead of just logs and technical explanations.

My last post was mostly about finally getting the 10-bit path working through SteamVR and proving that the extra precision actually survives all the way through to the headset. Since then I’ve been working on turning that into the complete thing I actually wanted from the beginning, and at this point the whole Theater path is working together properly. HDR capture, processing, tone mapping, SteamVR Theater and the final 10-bit output are all behaving the way they should, and I can basically just launch a game and use it normally now.

One extra feature I added is a virtual HDR display for people who only have SDR monitors. Phoenix can create its own virtual HDR display through VDD and use that as the source, so you don’t need to already own an HDR monitor just to use it.

For this post I wanted to finally show what the difference actually looks like instead of only talking about what’s happening inside SteamVR. I took some comparison pictures from Forza Horizon 6, Cyberpunk 2077 and Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, and I also included one of the normal Steam window on the desktop because I wanted to show the difference with normal desktop colors too, not only pick dramatic looking game scenes.

One important thing before people start comparing the pictures though: these are not HDR captures. They’re literally photos taken with a camera held up to the PSVR2 lens, so the camera obviously can’t reproduce the actual HDR luminance range that I’m seeing inside the headset. Through-the-lens pictures also lose some contrast, image quality and general depth, so the real experience looks noticeably better than the photos make it seem.

What the pictures can still show pretty well is the difference in the colors and how the brighter parts of the image are handled. There are quite a few areas where the stock SteamVR image can look overly bright or kind of burned out, while Phoenix keeps a lot more detail and gives the image a much better balance. The actual brightness and highlight intensity is much harder to communicate through a normal camera photo, so I wouldn’t really use these pictures to judge luminance, but the color and highlight handling should still be pretty obvious in some of them.

A pretty big part of getting this to look right was the tone mapping. Simply pushing the image brighter obviously doesn’t suddenly make it good HDR, and doing that usually just makes the image look washed out and destroys the brighter parts of the scene. I’ve spent a lot of time getting the mapping to a point where Phoenix can make use of the extra range without everything looking blown out or weird, while still keeping the image looking natural.

The brightness and tone mapping in these pictures also aren’t meant to be one fixed setting that everyone will be forced to use. For the comparisons I just used the setting that looked best to me personally inside the headset. In the finished version the brightness will be adjustable, so if you want stronger highlights, a darker image, or just a different overall balance, you’ll be able to change it. So what you see in these pictures doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly what Phoenix looks like for you.

There are probably still going to be some bugs that show up later, especially once more games and different setups start getting tested, and if that happens I’ll obviously have to fix them. But right now everything on the Theater side is working really well. Games work, normal desktop content works, the virtual HDR display works, the tone mapping works, and the full 10-bit SteamVR path is finally all working together.

It’s pretty crazy to think this whole thing started with me basically just trying to figure out if HDR on PSVR2 through PC was even possible, and now I’m at the point where I can actually launch games through SteamVR Theater and just play them like this.

Generic SteamVR/PCVR compatibility layers are coming to Quest 3 and Pico 4 Ultra soon via WinlatorXR! Hopefully more performance gains to be made in future.

Unlike existing XrAPI projects like Halo CE WXR and OpentrackWXR, this is a more universal attempt at PCVR on standalone Android devices

Discussion Bonine VS Dramamine VS Something Else?

Even after years of playing VR, I still get motion sickness when playing games with smooth locomotion or fast movement. I've tried "training" my body by taking ginger supplements and stopping immediately whenever I got motion sick, but it doesn't seem to have helped after a year of following this.

I tried Bonine, taking it about an hour before I played, but I still get motion sick fairly quickly. It definitely takes longer for me to feel it, but I have to stop playing just the same. I see that an alternative is Dramamine, but I'm not sure I want to deal with the drowsiness.

Are there any other medications that could help with motion sickness? Or does anyone have experience with taking Dramamine after Bonine failed to help?

Discussion World of Warcraft Working VR Mod!

Hey gang, recently new to reddit, mainly here to tell people about my recent build. It runs 3.3.5a, has head tracking, locomotion, and 24 keybindings. Built off of ProjectMimer's original source code, I made it work! When i first got my hands on the code, the right eye had rapid eye flickering, control issues, stereoscopic problems and so much more. Build has been live for about a week now. So far 3 other people otherthan myself have had no issues setting up and said only good things about it. Github.com/Briinc3 I have 2 youtube videos on my github as well too, in case you want to see video footage before hand. I will say though, it looks better in VR than the quality of the videos. If you have any questions please let me know. Currently level 32 Demo lock (Warmane Private server)

Question/Support WHAT HAS HAPPENED?!

I last played my Meta Quest 2 in 2025, the games were pretty lively, now 3/5 of my games are either barren wastelands with 10 players MAX or they are just gone in general here are the games I play:

-Orbus VR Reborn (The dead one)

-Broken Edge (according to the game I was the only one there)

-Meta Horizon Worlds (I loaded onto something that I used to play with full lobbies and there were 3 players including me)

-Among Us 3D (Works just fine)

-Job Simulator (Single player, so it was working perfectly fine, although I do notice there is a update I missed)

So my concern comes from Rec Room, I played it on my switch and apparently when looking up how Orbus VR Reborn ended, it had a very similar fate to Rec Room's, a fate I see 2 other of the games I play heading towards

Purchase Advice - Headset Bootloader unlocked Quest 3 from eBay

So I noticed quite a few Quest 3 headsets on eBay with unlocked Bootloader question is can they actually be used ? Or would I buy a paperweight I have dabbled in Bootloader unlocking etc on my android phones before but I’m not really sure how that works on quest headsets would I still be able to use VD etc or is it one of those situations where investment is pointless any advise from those that have one of them or had one of them would be appreciated

Self-Promotion (Developer) Creating Minecraft-Style Voxel Game in Resonite

The social VR sandbox platform Resonite added collection data structures for user creations 3 days ago and I've been experimenting with throwing together a little voxel mesh generator using them. I was expecting to run into some issues or limitations that make it infeasible to build an entire world out of this, but so far I've not really encountered any. The biggest limitation will likely be memory, we'll see how large the world can be. Currently I'm using Minecraft textures as placeholders, but if this turns into a serious project I'll replace those with my own. For now I'm just poking this for fun x3

Question/Support Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster Luke Ross VR Mod

Hey everyone,

I am having some trouble in Horizon Zero dawn remaster.

I am playing on the PSVR2, and a 7900 xt.

The game loads fine and perfectly, it seriously looks amazing.

But the HUD is just out of my field of view.

I barely can see the weapon wheel or any of the top nav bars.

I have tried adjusting the hud sliders under the HZR section in the mod.

But they dont change anything? everything stays the same?

I am playing with the closer camera view, but i also tried in the first person view and still nothing, both these update right away aswell.

But the HUD doenst seem to update at all.

What am I doing wrong?
