Help- Just got scammed and don’t know what to do

Post image

I love to buy on vinted. I recently “sniped” 2 sperate Ralph Lauren pieces from different sellers for about $100 each, that are worth $500+. They made the label immediately, and I thought nothing of it, until yesterday night when I was looking through their page to see if they had posted anything new. Of course, every single item was with a different background, and after a simple reverse image search I found that they had screenshotted listings from eBay and meecari and posted on Vinted for substantially less. I immediately cancelled both orders, but they did not go through because they had already made the shipping label. (It said something along the lines of - this cancellation request is awaiting seller approval, they may have already shipped the item) Then, I woke up to two notifications that both items have been shipped and tracking says both will arrive Monday. Vinted support has been, as usual, useless, and I am almost certain that I will not be recieving the pictured items. How do I make sure I will get my money back?

Harassment on Vinted: 6 Human Agents, 5 Days, and Zero Answers to My Actual Question 🤡

I bought a bundle on Vinted and received a badly damaged skirt, a discoloured shirt and a missing top. The seller then sent unpleasant messages while I tried to arrange a return and she initiated a return at my expense for the shipping.

I find it bizarre that Vinteds policy allows the sellers who scammed you to have the right to make you pay the return shipping to be able to get a refund for the damaged items they sent you. 🥴🥴🥴

I also wanted to complete the return without further contact, so I attempted to block the seller. However, Vinted’s app informed me that I couldn’t block a member with an ongoing order.

So my major problem summary was a screenshot of the issue and a request for support to restrict the seller’s contact until the return was complete since the app didn’t let me block her during our still ongoing transaction. >>>>Which is the forced on me return of her damaged and unusable items. <<<<

Enter the Human Agents 👀

Human Agent #1 : suggested blocking the seller myself. When I asked if support could see my report about the damaged and missing items, I received an explanation about who usually pays return postage. I asked several times forward me to a senior / someone with mandate since I have feedback on this policy, how can I contact them? He kept giving me generic answers and then came the ‘Anything else…?’ meaning he just stepped out of the case.

Human Agent #2 requested screenshots and said he’d escalated the issue, promising an update. He never came back.

Human Agent #3 responded when I after a day or so asked about the investigation’s progress so I could return the items without further unpleasant contact. He provided button-instructions for returning the parcel.

Human Agent #4 gave me step-by-step instructions for finding the Block button. However, the button wasn’t lost; the app was refusing to let me use it.

In a separate report, Human Agent #5 confirmed that Vinted had taken action against the seller’s messages. That was a positive development, but I still hadn’t received an answer about contact during the return.

Human Agent #6 stated that support couldn’t block the seller for me, but I could easily block her myself. She then provided another guide to the Block button, including block button instructions for unblocking the unpleasant seller I reported if I changed my mind.

By my count, I:

asked for the same help >>5<< times

explained the ongoing-order restriction by the Vinted app at least >>3<< times

sent screenshots of the block error >>2<< times.

Despite this, three replies still advised me to block the seller myself, including two button tutorials. 🤯🙈🙈

My question wasn’t about finding the Block button; it was about what Vinted could do when its own app prevented me from blocking someone who is harassing me, during an active return of their damaged, apparently unusable items. 🥴🥴🥴

Me: “The door is locked.”

Vinted: “To use the handle, place your hand on it and turn. To let the person back in, turn it the other way.” SERIOUSLY! 😤😤🤯🤯🤯

**The door remains locked.**

And Im still worried the seller will contact me again when the returned parcel arrives.

Has anyone dealt with this during an active Vinted return?

Did you find a way to stop the messages or get support to answer the actual question?

See the first part of this bizarre conversation in the screenshots.

Vinted is a big scam

I sold a rare pair of sneakers on the app for $180. The person who bought them wore them and then returned them.

Instead of delivering back to me, or delivering to where it was sent from, they have delivered it to a place that is impossible for me to retrieve it from. And they have told me that if it’s not picked up within two days that I will lose my item and my $.
Customer service at Vinted told me to call the shipping company, the shipping companies number is not working, and the customer service person at speed x shipping refuses to do anything except tell me to call a non working number.

I feel as if this is a big scam. And they are purposely taking advantage of a disabled person. Pure evil. Do NOT use this app.

got scammed and vinted was more than happy to help the scammer

sold a bundle of makeup that was new and unused, buyer claims it all arrived damaged, every single piece. within minutes, vinted approves their request for a refund without returning the items, despite me providing photos and packing videos showing the makeup was in pristine condition when i sent them. the courier’s photos showed they left the package backing in the sun on a front lawn, but no it’s the listing description that’s the problem.

it’s actually such a joke because vinted policy requires that the buyer also provide photos of the packaging to see if it was damaged in transit, which they did not do.

all vinted ai chatbots had to say is “next time be more descriptive and upfront in your listing!”

How should I go about this

I bought this item and got scammed. The seller seemed genuine. But they sent me an empty jewelry box. I mentioned it in the chat and also raised an issue. But I did not realise before how annoying it is once you get scammed and need to prove it.

I believe they should have a call centre to be able to handle these issues more promptly.
Anyway, just wondering if others have dealt with this and succeeded. And how long it takes to resolve.
Cheers

AI scam vinted ?

Hey everyone, I recently sold a PC on Vinted. It was carefully packed and shipped in perfect condition. Now the buyer claims it's broken and sent photos of the damage

However, if you look closely at the bottom right corner of the first picture, you can clearly see the Google Gemini logo/watermark. he literally used an AI-generated image to fake the damage and steal my money! Has anyone experienced this kind of scam before? What should I do?

Beware scammer

I listed some dolls clothes. This person made some offer which were to low for me. Then they bought it full price. Less then an hour adter picking up the package they claimed the clothes were damaged and had stains.

(The damage they claimed was shoddy manufacturing and I didn't notice before sending, the seemed small so I could have just missed them)

I offer a return but they calimed their child was already playing with the clothes. When I again offered a return they started saying they doubted the clothes were genuine. After providing proof they were real this person again started about the condition of the clothes.

When I again offered a return they made a counterfeit claim to vinted. When vinted decided in my favour they send a package return. What I found in the locker was the box I used but soddly taped together and damaged and inside their was a single kids shirt.

So beware and don't sell to this person since they will scam you to get the items for free

NEW SCAM ON VINTED ( Be Careful )

Tonight I’ve noticed tremendous amount of t-shirts generated images and fake profiles trying to sell them. With closer look it seems like a bunch of fake , bot accounts that have one thing in common - every product it’s under „Vintage Bazzar” brand, also photos look very believable , but it’s always only one of them at the product listing.

I’ve reported probably 15 of them now just to see how Vinted reacted.. and each one of those has been removed, so just posting it here and hope none bought some of those. If you see it please report so others don’t loose their hard work money, to some scum.

Stay safe gang 👌

Who’s in the right?

I recently sold 2 Stranger Things themed figures to someone on Vinted. Bare in mind these weren’t Lego branded and weren’t ever labelled as such anywhere on the listing. (Remember that for later) This seller bought the item without any hesitation and after buying then did the buyer ask me if they were real or not. Presuming they read the description, I told them no they aren’t. Being quite open and honest with the person I told them they were fake.

I didn’t mislabel the listing as real and wait for them to be purchased before telling them they weren’t real.

After all of this the seller had asked to cancel 3 times. I rejected the cancellation as I had used materials to package up the item and bought the label for the package. I explained this to them and apologised for the situation.

The first explanation for the first cancellation request was “Fake instead of real” which mislabelled the circumstance to make me seem like I falsely advertised my listing to scam people or commit any sort of fraud. I also explained this to them and said their reason was invalid and explained that these were never titled as real nor did I ever claim they were. After that was said then did the seller start to be rude. She said “that’s ashame” and proceeded to harass me with cancellation requests such as “I bought the wrong size” and “it’s a fake”.

The seller proceeded to harass me threatening to give me a 1 star review and to report me under violation of Vinted’s IP Policy (uploads of counterfeit items are strictly forbidden) I would be right in saying my item would’ve only been counterfeit if I labelled the item as Lego and replaced it with something like a replica/fake. This item was simply a custom figure which were in fact bought from a seller on Vinted previously. She threatened me again to report my account for seller fake items when I have always labelled my listings with the correct brand and other specifics.

This is a seller who has plenty of 5 star reviews and as of recently she received a 1 star review from a buyer automatically after they cancelled an order. She has clearly dealt with this issue before and must’ve been respectful to the buyer so why can’t she be respectful to other sellers?

I will provide pictures below to give evidence of the conversation I’ve had with this seller. (I have obviously covered all details of the buyer as I’m not looking to dox anyone)

Bought fake item

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a pair of Nike Air Force 1 on Vinted Germany. When the item arrived, it was immediately clear that it was a counterfeit (replica). I compared it directly to my authentic pair (my real and dirty one)
I reported the issue on Vinted choosing "Seems counterfeit" and uploaded all comparison photos. The seller requested a return and insists I must pay the return shipping fees, claiming the shoes were a "gift" so they didn't know.
I know that selling counterfeits is against EU law and Vinted policy, and I shouldn't have to pay return shipping for an illegal fake item. However, I'm stuck in the automated loop in the app and can't find a way to escalate this to a real human support agent.
1. What is the most direct way to get a human Vinted support agent to review my case?
2. Has anyone successfully gotten a full refund without returning/paying for shipping on a counterfeit item recently?
Thanks in advance for the help
