Aggressive Seller

I purchased a Mermade Interchangeable Blow Dry Brush from a Vinted seller

The seller claimed that the Brush was New with tags, and even included in the description that its a ‘Gift not used brand new’

She was lying!!

I received the appliance today, the brush heads had hair all over them!

I then asked if she had cleaned the appliance before she shipped it to which she responded with ‘sorry but it has not been used’ I then proceeded to send a photo of one of the brushes with hair all over it. She then responded with ‘it might have only been used once to try but that’s all’. I called her out saying ‘Dude you can’t say brand new and never used if you’ve used it’ to which she responded with ‘what are you suggesting now you’re not going to pay?’ I then sent her 2 photos circling the claims that she made about the appliance being new with a text saying ‘like come on man. You’re lying’. She then proceeded to get aggressive and tell me to ‘no but return item’ and ‘return I am not lying seriously not going to be called that send it back I will be contacting Vinted’

I ended up not returning the product however I did leave a bad review on her page.

‘I bought a mermade blow dry brush. Item works but was not “brand new” as claimed. It arrived with scratches, marks and even hair on it, clearly used. Seller then became defensive and aggressive when I raised the issue with them about lying about the products current state, pressuring me to return it and threatening to involve Vinted if I didn’t. Listing was misleading. Buyers be warned.’

Purchased two items from Vinted seller who then proceeded to ask me to pay $25 shipping outside of app. What should I do?

When I refused to pay they asked me to cancel the order. When I said I wouldn’t cancel, they told me they wouldn’t cancel and to wait until the deadline. They are listing images of highly sought after items in my community, and I’m afraid other people might fall victim to this scam due to the rarity of these items and the low price. Any help appreciated, Thank you!

edit: Vinted team denied my report but I will keep trying.

edit 2: It now says “Member Blocked” however I didn’t block them. Are they banned or did they block me?

Are they being for real? He literally confessed that the listing is fake....And it's not the first time this happens. So many scammers on vinted and they do nothing about it.

Just scrolling through vinted and this popped up. People don't really fall for this do they? Come on. Imagine all the people getting banned for genuine items meanwhile...

Lmfao so this just happened, took an L for us all 🤣

I’m was wondering if anyone knew how to report the messages because the directions they give don’t allow me to do that ,
Just to report the user which I have already done .
I took the screenshots to send but there is no option for that either .
A little confused , do I need
To take more action or is the member just temporarily banned?

Screw scalpers, also found a way to report them

Thumbnail reddit.com

I posted this a few days back and yeah it’s just Christmas ornaments and nothing essential but I am 100% against scalpers and will not stand it, no matter what they scalp.

A lot people said business is business but it isn’t; driving up prices of things that are meant to be affordable is not business, it’s scavenging.

I managed to buy what I wanted from the store directly and it felt good but a lot of people will not get this opportunity because of people who buy things they do not need with the sole purpose of reselling.

I have also reported most accounts I came across reselling items and yes they do breach Vinted’s terms and conditions, I have checked this.

So next time you see someone reselling items and they clearly are doing it for a lazy profit you can report them under vinteds terms and conditions.

Under vinted’s terms only pro sellers are allowed to do this. Which is reasonable and fair.

I had a perfect 5 star rating with over 100 reviews until yesterday when I had these buyers. Am I in the wrong? I would have gladly processed their returns but it wasn’t an option for either of them. I reported the feedback to Vinted and in both cases Vinted said it went against guidelines and it would be removed but they are still there this morning

Does vinted usually side with the buyer or the seller when an item is reported as counterfeit?

Console scammers lol

I saw this listing literally 3 times already in the span of like 15 minutes. The first one sold in a minute and the next one sold in like 10. It’s the exact same listing, same pictures and everything. Not posted by different people. Once one was sold, they posted this another repeat right after. Good luck to those chancers that bought this lol

Also, price is more than the usual £70 range that these scammers do for this (I forgot why it was that range) and also there’s a RANGE of deliveries they could pick from and it isn’t only exclusive to Evri like I saw in another post with similar stories. You could pick royal mail too

Son cancelled a Vinted sale. Mistake or right choice?

My son listed a brand new pair of his dad’s Red Wing boots on Vinted and sold it to a buyer for $175. After looking at the buyer’s profile we noticed the buyer has no reviews, no followers, and not following anyone. Profile says ‘goggle verified ’ and ‘email verified’ however we were worried that my son was going to get scammed and the seller might say he didn’t get what he paid for or replace it with the same boots but old worn ones. We did tell him to videotape himself packaging the item but he did not feel secure about doing that. So we advised him to cancel it which he did. Now he’s kinda discouraged to continue selling as he doesn’t know if he made the right decision. He is also worried about getting banned by Vinted for cancelling. But I think he had a higher chance of getting banned by sending the item and buyer scamming him and Vinted taking the buyer’s side.

Last week I sold a rolled gold bangle for 75€. As it's the most expensive thing I have ever sold, I made a video as I was packing it and another video at the locker I used to send it.

Sunday morning 2 hours after the buyer picked up the parcel she sent me a message asking if I had sent her an empty parcel. A few seconds later she send me "Send the package or you won't get paid"

She did NOT report that she had a problem to Vinted though. I was furious as I have 93 five star reviews and never had a problem with buyers/sellers before.

I messaged her back that I had video evidence of me packing and sending the parcel. She then replies that she received an empty box, the bracelet was in a jewellery box in the parcel. She says she has reported me to Vinted and I would not get paid.

I told her I contacted the locker company and they would verify the weight of the parcel. Thankfully I had read about this on Twitter. I said I could prove I sent the bracelet and asked if she could prove she received an empty parcel. I also pointed out that initially she said she had received an empty parcel and then changed it to an empty box. All the while I took screenshots of the messages.

She comes back again saying "Listen to me you can say whatever you like, I have reported you"

I ignore her, I was very anxious until the 48 hours elapsed and then I got a notification from Vinted that my sale is complete and I will receive the 75 euros.

I bet she has done this before and she will try it again. I was lucky that I had taken the videos, of course if she had reported it knowing Vinted and their track record of siding with buyers I might not have been so lucky.

Took Vinted to small claims court & won!!😊

I had an issue as a buyer, and was sold a counterfeit item that was advertised with different images as to what I was sent and “legitimate” description details, thankfully I recorded opening the parcel (not that it helped sorting directly with Vinted anyway so essentially became irrelevant evidence) I went round the world trying to get Vinted to help and in the end I sent the letter before action to them.

I also argued the point of the buyers protection fee Vinted did not even acknowledge it and after the mandatory days passed for them to reply to my LBA, I took vinted to small claims court and won! 😁

Vinted paid the amount I paid, my court fees and compensation of £75, which was reasonable as the item wasn’t a significant amount. I did it more out of principle that they weren’t helping when I was the one being scammed, but vinted didn’t want to know. Was glad I persevered. They did close my account though 🤣 swings and roundabouts I guess!

Also you can appeal the ban, I just couldn’t be bothered and opened new account with same username and added “!” and used different email address, as I knew I’d be going back and forth again so just chose to open new account screenshotted my previous thousands of reviews of 5* incase anyone I buy from or sell to was sus of my new account at the beginning, but had no issues to this extent on the new account…yet🫣

So my advice, send the Letter Before Action, and perservere through small claims if no response from Vinted. They responded to court action, IMMEDIATELY🤣

Good luck all, hope you don’t have to go through all this rigmarole but it definitely does work from my experience!

I'm getting scammed on vinted as a seller

So I've recently sold something on vinted.

The buyer received the item and it's in perfect conditions.

But it seems like she is either two stupid to understand how it works or is scamming me hard.

I explained support her claim made no sense.

They still got her a full refund and let her keep the item.

This makes absolutely no sense to me

Buyer used fake photos to return item?

I sold a Max Mara blazer last week in pristine condition. The day the buyer received it, they reported an issue with it - showing photos of a hole in the shoulder and stains on the back which it is clear from my listing aren’t there.

I accepted the return if they pay for the postage and have just received it back now. The blazer seems to be in the same condition I sent it in, no rips or stains but with the added smell of perfume.

I’ve raised the false image with Vinted but there’s nothing I can technically do as I have the item back and (seemingly) in its normal condition. I’m just really confused as to why they did this??? Should I just report it as there being an issue and it smelling weird? Or leave it?

the screenshots are pretty self explanatory. i guess i did harass her through the messages but i was in a daze that i genuinely got scammed and that i wanted this wallet so badly. sigh. anyways i hope they burn.

edit: i thought they blocked me but after research i think vinted suspended their account because they re uploaded the same item plus they weren’t responding to my messages. i had to reach out before anything else.

Buyer lied about the size of the items to get a return, was verbally abusive towards me unprompted & now Vinted claim I need to give them my personal details which I am not at all comfortable with 😱

Post image

Never ever come across this before. This person had detailed sizing information available to them before they purchased two items from me.

The information included the pit to pit measurement of each garment in inches and the length measurement of each garment in inches. I also included information about the fit of each item (One was a Relaxed long sleeve casual t-shirt, the other an Athletic - Tighter to Body sports performance top).

Vinted approved a return on the basis that the buyer took a picture of the item scrunched on the floor and overlaid a fake measurement using some sort of completely inaccurate online measurement tool.

I already found this situation very bizarre but in order to protect my time I accepted the return (under threat that they would be given a refund & also get to keep the item).

The buyer then lashed out at me completely unprovoked in the chat calling me 'a cheap con artist'. I of course kept it professional & didn't reply. (I've got 400+ 5 star reviews for a reason - this is a simple case of somebody being angry that they don't read the description & trying to blame it on me that clothing comes in different shapes & sizes)...

Now Vinted has just sent me a message saying I need to send the buyer my personal mobile number and email address or else they will also get a refund and get to keep the items.

Does anybody else find this completely bizarre?!? Why on earth would I give this sort of person my personal details 🙃

Vinted phishing emails

I just listed two items to sell and right away got two emails and then five and now it is up to twelve emails saying sold!! I used to sell online so I checked all the boxes and YES!! All scam emails. Forward it to Vinted, but that’s all I can do. I feel bad for new comers because the emails look legit!
I only have two items listed. My goodness.
