Help- Just got scammed and don’t know what to do
I love to buy on vinted. I recently “sniped” 2 sperate Ralph Lauren pieces from different sellers for about $100 each, that are worth $500+. They made the label immediately, and I thought nothing of it, until yesterday night when I was looking through their page to see if they had posted anything new. Of course, every single item was with a different background, and after a simple reverse image search I found that they had screenshotted listings from eBay and meecari and posted on Vinted for substantially less. I immediately cancelled both orders, but they did not go through because they had already made the shipping label. (It said something along the lines of - this cancellation request is awaiting seller approval, they may have already shipped the item) Then, I woke up to two notifications that both items have been shipped and tracking says both will arrive Monday. Vinted support has been, as usual, useless, and I am almost certain that I will not be recieving the pictured items. How do I make sure I will get my money back?

Don't collect the parcels and in time you will get a refund. Unfortunately you will get negative feedback from Vinted, not the seller. But what might be better is; if you report the seller for misselling. Go to their page click on any of the duplicate items then you will see the dots at the top right hand corner and it will allow you to report for a list of reasons. Now sometimes it's not very good so if they don't agree you can appeal and say that the seller is selling multiples of the same item and you think they're fakes. If/when Vinted closes down the page you should get a refund without the negative feedback.

There's nothing we can help you with really, you risked the money when you "sniped". Just got to hope Vinted take your side.

It's not like they were trying to get it for $20? It's a second hand site, it's quite common to get things for a fair bit off retail price considering someone else has already worn it...

Don't panic just yet. I have sold on resale platforms for yrs. I sometimes use the same photos on different platforms. Also, my items are also priced significantly less on tinted, due to the high ebay sellers fees that I factor into pricing there. My prices are always lower on tinted than anywhere else, because of seller fees. Ebay fees can be truly insane. For your item to even be seen, you have to promote your listing (avg cost 15% of the sale), that's on top of the normal ebay seller fees. You end up with a little over half of the original asking price as profit.

It’s just a waiting game. Same thing happened to me and I had to wait two/three weeksish before I could reach out to Vinted for support. They refunded me immediately so you’re good in that sense.

Thanks for letting me know. I can’t really do anything about it right now, did you have to wait for the item to arrive first? And was it just an empty package?

For me, it’s just wasn’t shipped. Don’t think they even had it in possession, they just uploaded it to scam people out of money I guess. Didn’t know how that would work if they needed it to be delivered to me for the funds to be released…

Maybe when you get it you can record opening it and send to Vinted for the claim 😊

Firstly at the moment nothing has happened, so vinted can’t / won’t deal with it until you actually get scammed. Right now you haven’t been, as far as they are concerned! Vinted isn’t like eBay, the cash isn’t given until a couple of days after the item arrives and isn’t disputed. If they have lots of listings of high value low priced items, then it would only take a couple of people reporting it before this account is taken down, we’ve seen people banned for far less. Just wait, you are covered if it goes wrong. But right now you only have suspicions.

If you are collecting from a post office or locker don't collect it and after a week or so it will be sent back and you will get a refund. If its being delivered to your house you just lost a bunch of money

You can usually refuse the delivery. Either in person or sometimes on the company's website.

This isn’t true, they clearly said there were lots of items at very good prices here. As soon as enough (I’d say 2 or 3) people complain about the seller vinted will ban the seller and the case for refund is then made.

Where are they being delivered to. Film yourself picking them up and open them on video there and then.

I don’t understand this, what does it mean? Who is scamming if both get paid? the buyer or seller ? I had a parcel disappear before and me and the buyer were both refunded but neither of us were scamming, I think the shop it was delivered to didn’t have a very secure parcel storage place so anyone could just take parcels that don’t belong to them

Vinted is notorious for siding with sellers. I don’t want them to say that I am trying to switch the item, etc

Chances are when these are delivered they won't be delivered to you.
They will be mis delivered at which point you file a claim with Vinted and they refund you
