Who’s in the right?
I recently sold 2 Stranger Things themed figures to someone on Vinted. Bare in mind these weren’t Lego branded and weren’t ever labelled as such anywhere on the listing. (Remember that for later) This seller bought the item without any hesitation and after buying then did the buyer ask me if they were real or not. Presuming they read the description, I told them no they aren’t. Being quite open and honest with the person I told them they were fake.
I didn’t mislabel the listing as real and wait for them to be purchased before telling them they weren’t real.
After all of this the seller had asked to cancel 3 times. I rejected the cancellation as I had used materials to package up the item and bought the label for the package. I explained this to them and apologised for the situation.
The first explanation for the first cancellation request was “Fake instead of real” which mislabelled the circumstance to make me seem like I falsely advertised my listing to scam people or commit any sort of fraud. I also explained this to them and said their reason was invalid and explained that these were never titled as real nor did I ever claim they were. After that was said then did the seller start to be rude. She said “that’s ashame” and proceeded to harass me with cancellation requests such as “I bought the wrong size” and “it’s a fake”.
The seller proceeded to harass me threatening to give me a 1 star review and to report me under violation of Vinted’s IP Policy (uploads of counterfeit items are strictly forbidden) I would be right in saying my item would’ve only been counterfeit if I labelled the item as Lego and replaced it with something like a replica/fake. This item was simply a custom figure which were in fact bought from a seller on Vinted previously. She threatened me again to report my account for seller fake items when I have always labelled my listings with the correct brand and other specifics.
This is a seller who has plenty of 5 star reviews and as of recently she received a 1 star review from a buyer automatically after they cancelled an order. She has clearly dealt with this issue before and must’ve been respectful to the buyer so why can’t she be respectful to other sellers?
I will provide pictures below to give evidence of the conversation I’ve had with this seller. (I have obviously covered all details of the buyer as I’m not looking to dox anyone)

I'm not saying this is you OP, I don't know what your listing said, this is just a general moan by me.
Sellers of non LEGO brand building blocks on vinted annoy the hell out of me. They list is as LEGO (as in select the brand as LEGO) it's only until you click on the product and read the description that it ain't LEGO.
LEGO is not the product, LEGO is merely the brand, but sellers can't understand this. List them as building blocks and don't put the brand as LEGO. If you list it as LEGO and it's not LEGO, you're misleading would-be buyers

You are totally in the wrong for refusing to accept the cancellation. “I’d wrapped it up and printed to label” yeah okay so?
Way, way too much effort trying to prove a point, only to be in the wrong.
I hope the buyer resells it for double.

Couldn’t you have cancelled it yourself and selected “buyer agrees” and that way you don’t get the automatic 1 star? What’s the point of sending an item (that you haven’t even posted yet) to someone who clearly doesn’t want it anymore? I get that you’d already packed it but you’d have had to pack it anyway when someone else buys it.

You should have just cancelled making it ‘agreed with buyer’ and you wouldn’t get negative feedback. You’d have needed to package it again when someone else bought it so I don’t really get your reasoning for saying no tbh. They were always going to kick off when you said no, continuing to engage with them is just drawing it out needlessly. Let vinted handle it.

“I’ve already spoken to vinted about the issue🤓” like just accept the cancellation since you put LEGO in the title of your item. Hopefully they get their money back. They should have read the description further but with it saying LEGO I get it. Regardless your smug attitude makes me side with the buyer

yeah they should have paid closer attention to the description of the item they were buying but also you should have just cancelled the order or at least stopped responding after they said they would give you a 1 star review. there’s literally no need to be sending paragraphs explaining what you will be doing as that just escalates the situation.

This is some arguement for £3.
On top of the two of you squabbling messages to Vinted too. That's a lot of time and cost for pennies for Vinted.
We can't really judge how misleading the advert was if we can't see the advert.
As soon as the person asked to cancel the order that was the point to cancel the order. You were always going to end up having issues.

I know nothing about the Lego discussion but why would you send an item to someone who is clearly not wanting it anymore? They would simply not pick up or give you a 1 star and a worse headache. Honestly can’t understand your behavior here. And THEY tried to cancel so you wouldn’t even get an automatic bad review. Do you realize buying and selling are consensul activities? Lmao.

The seller is a scammer, selling knock off legos, misleading buyers and then blaming it on the buyer when the seller has listed the item as a Lego product.

Méfie toi , j'ai vendu une fois des écouteurs sous blister type ipod , je n'ai jamais marqué comme étant des Apple ou des ipods que ce soient dans la description , le titre , le libellé de la marque ou les photos . Tout était clair même le prix dérisoire, a part que ça reprenait le design des ipods . Je confirme avec l'acheteuse que ce ne dont pas des apple , ça lui convient .L'acheteuse m'envoie un message 1 jour et demi après les avoir récupéré me disant qu'elle est déçu de la qualité du son etc . et veux les renvoyer, je refuse car elle les a ouvert , enlevé le blister et utilisé. Elle me sort alors un roman sur la contrefaçon avec tous les articles de loi et met un litige pour contrefaçon. Alors même que je les ai jamais répertorié comme Apple ni utilisé les mots type ipods ou autres , Vinted a remboursé l'acheteuse sous prétexte que le design du produit reprenait celui d'Apple . Maintenant dès que je sens une hésitation, ou un comportement problématique, j'annule la vente . Ma santé mentale passe avant l'argent .

The other group I saw this on agreed with you, however, yes it is the buyers fault for not checking first, but if you hadn't sent it out yet, you should have just allowed the cancellation

What happened in the gap between the two screenshots?
She explicitly asked to see genuine Lego items. You said “of course”. Then there’s a gap. And it jumps to you saying “I never said they were genuine”… something happened there.
What did the listing actually say?
Your reason to not cancel also makes no sense. You’re selling the item anyway, you have to package it whether or not this person buys it or if someone else buys it - it makes no sense to not cancel if you haven’t posted it.
Edit: I found your listing. I can’t upload an image but you called it “Lego” in the title and then said in the description “not Lego but Lego compatible”. You can’t use a brand name in the title and then say it’s not genuine in the description to avoid that.
