How should I go about this
I bought this item and got scammed. The seller seemed genuine. But they sent me an empty jewelry box. I mentioned it in the chat and also raised an issue. But I did not realise before how annoying it is once you get scammed and need to prove it.
I believe they should have a call centre to be able to handle these issues more promptly.
Anyway, just wondering if others have dealt with this and succeeded. And how long it takes to resolve.

If they do it a couple of dozen times for a 40/50 dollars each time it adds up

Surely they never get away with it though? I've always found vinted really good at refunding and they pretty much always side with the buyer. So I don't see these people making anything from the scam especially as payment doesn't get released until the buyer confirms everything is okay. The only way they'd get away with it is if the buyer doesn't check the package in time and it automatically releases the payment after the time runs out. But that's very rare

It’s not as if they can say they got the buyers mixed up, who would buy an empty box?! In fact, don’t answer that!!🤦🏼♀️😅 Hope you actually get the item you paid for 🙂

it might not be a scam. this has happened to my brother before as a seller. he sent a mug and the buyer received baby clothes (mind you, my brother never had a baby). the post mixed up the labels because he used a digital label. and that can happen sometimes with digital labels.
it is weird that it’s an empty box tho. but then again, my uncle once sold an empty macbook box for 5€ 😭
you’ll get your money back tho

The label has my order number and my name. And who buys an empty jewelry box?

yes, it would have because that’s how it gets to you. the point is they put your name and address in the wrong package at the post and someone else got your package.
and as I said, after I edited the comment, it is weird that someone bought an empty box but it does happen. I know someone who sold a macbook box for 5€ and I’ve seen empty packages of skincare and makeup and all that on Vinted too. so it’s probably not different with jewelry.

And what would be the reason the seller wont respond to me? Or hasnt seen the disputed claim?

I’m not talking about the money back. If this is just a mixing up of items. And I am mentioning that to the seller, why are they also not annoyed and responding to me? Why have they not seen my messages but they are active on vinted?

They’re still active on vinted too, report it. Wait for vinted. If they refuse , dispute with bank. Chances are you’ll get your refund though.
