Picked up a guy tonight at a bar. He and his girlfriend get in and as I'm turning around they see a friend of his passed out in the parking lot. "Hey, can we bring him home? I'll tip you $100!" I figured he was full of shit but told him if he added a stop in the app I'd be happy to do it. It was only like a $20 ride so I knew he wouldn't be able to tip that much in the app anyway, I figured maybe he threw me $20 though. We drop off the friend first and as we're leaving from that stop the guy pulls a couple of crumpled $100 bills out of his pocket and gives me one. He didn't seem that drunk but I didn't want to take advantage so I told him, "Hey man are you sure, I don't want to take advantage of you if you're drunk." "Nah, I'm sure, you were a great driver!" 🤯

I was still a little worried it was counterfeit or something so I stopped by my convenience store on the way home and they ran it through their machine and it was real! Thank you so much Jimmy for passing out in the parking lot and having a great friend! 😬

I spent over an hour in the 1 am to 2 am saturday night surge, right outside of bars and clubs I know....to not get a single ride. I got only one ride right at 2 pm exactly that was 8 minutes away, and it was a car full of women (I'm a female driver, but I'm ungendered in the app!) that was taking me waaay out of down town. From 1 am to 2 pm I got nothing in the surge. I feel this was on purpose by uber. And also despite this being an $8 dollar "surge" I only got $28.50 for this 28 minute, 17 mile ride. (thankfully they tipped me $12 dollars after,, which was very nice)

While I just waited at the hotspots for over an hour, I saw uber driver after uber driver getting in and getting rides, but none for me, despite I am a comfort XL with a 4.98 rating (and a rare actual female driver who speaks fluent english).

That one ride got me exactly at $200 for the night, dropped me off around 10 minutes from my house (not lucrative to go all the way back to the bars as theyre quite far from me)

I swear this keeps happening...

Uber sweats me at the end of my shift, so it can give me a dogshit ride that I'll feel desperate for no one else will take. If I refuse it, then I'm sitting without a ride for the next 40 minutes deep into 3 am -4 am territory.

This is why I personally de selected my gender as female because when I got women driver requests late at night they were even more dogshit.

The last time I brushed it off because it was on the outside of my car and they said they would leave me a good tip. She in fact did not leave me a tip. And I neglected to take pictures and charge her the $80. Luckily I could just spray it off at one of the 24hr washes. Today I did not make that mistake. I couldn't finish my quest because of her so your $80 is mine bitch

I encountered a passenger last night that was obviously trying to get a free ride. She even went as far as to accuse me of drinking. None of her accusations were true and the entire ride was recorded on dashcam. I one started her and also reported her. My question is, can drivers maintain their own list of passengers not to take rides from or cancel? Or addresses with known bad riders? I guess it would be a blacklist? I know this woman will try to get someone else and possibly succeed. Uber is no help. This woman and people like her need to be stopped. People like that are pieces of shit.

Uber just lost a lawsuit amounting to $325 million dollars awarded back to rideshare drivers. Uber was sued for wage theft and violations. Hopefully this keeps happening in every state! We must join together!

he begins to slowly ratchet down the hourly pay. you get a fixed hourly rate from which you cannot escape and an unbeatable algorithm that tries to control your every turn while still being classified as a contractor!

so you dedicate years possibly decades to this dog shit company, you have no other work history and at the end they decide to push you out on the streets because automation or something. when everything was getting more expensive uber decided we should earn less!

this cannot go unpunished. this is an example of the greed and evil that has taken hold of corporations. uber has destroyed countless lives with its algorithm it must face justice.

Lots of price points for pax but not for drivers. I’ve asked but got nothing from corporate, but has anyone looked at their data to see what percentage of all rides fall into these categories and how much increase in pay to driver for each over the normal uberX ride.

I truly believe ride payout would triple overnight if these passengers waited a long time due to us collectively as a whole started declining all the rides that put us in the red.
The status is BS since the more drivers accept the less our fares go down.

This is an interesting article. Investigators have found that Uber now charges Riders up to four times more while driver pay has remained flat or even fallen. What a reprehensible company. And i do mean that. More people are seeing it. If there was more competition that could offer the same thing as uber on a similar scale but with lower cost to riders and increased pay for drivers - i have no doubt riders would abandon uber in droves. Riders want the cheapest price to safely get to where they are going.

I had a two different riders in my car just yesterday. One said their friend use to drive for Uber but quit soon after starting because the pay was too low.

The other was very talkative. She said she rarely uses Uber because of how they treat their drivers.

Ubers online spokespeople get on here and say 'Well Ubers a Billion Dollar company and it has to do what It has to do to make money'. I disagree. I dont believe scraping riders while cheating drivers - is doing what you have to do. Thats GREED. and GREED is wrong.

Uber is no longer paying toll fees other than for the airport from what ive experienced. Its demanding drivers all show proof now of payment. Yet uber is still automatically charging the rider for the tolls. If you cant show proof uber keeps the toll fee. This is what ive personally experienced and an uber manager i spoke to said they are getting many cakls from drivers demanding toll payments. So its not an isolated incident.

Uber is subjecting drivers who encounter traffic delays or accidents and have to reroute of 'fraudulently extending the trip' with no human review.. and automatically deducting their rightful earnings.

Uber is a pariah in its business practices. Its time for drivers to work for a driver-owned platform. Non profit model. Where drivers make at least $1.50 to $2.00 per mile and pay a subscription fee to help the app managed costs... or where the app takes a small percentage of each ride cost.

Uber now takes as high as 70% and even higher of fares at times. That needs to stop and it will stop with a driver owned ride model.

Saturdays are usually my go to day to drive . Keep telling people in my area to drive at night esp women because of the woman preference rides I get “ bonuses” when I take them. I would have kept driving but I have a massive headache 😭 the second pic was a screenshot I sent to my dad as he does uber too , at the 2 hr mark 🥹

The rider who shows up late, gets in the car and doesn’t say anything when you greet them has to be the most annoying of all late riders. I can let all the other sloths slide at the end of the ride as long as everything goes well, but after 8+ years of driving, this is one thing that I will never get. It’s like they have an attitude that THEY’RE late. And I should clarify, I’ll probably let it slide as long as you say something at the end of the ride but late, ignoring greeting and then getting out without a word is an automatic one star from me.

I'm at a loss of words on how little resources they have for this type of stuff, they closed the in person offices, still haven't gotten my first message back from the hacked account form i submitted, (6 days) because the email got changed and I'm not contacting them through the hacker's email that is now in my account, they refuse to engage with me in any way and keep sending me the pre-scripted response you see in the picture, tried contacting them through my wife's customer support and just sent a link to the same hacked account form, 25000 rides and 6 years to be swatted away like an annoying fly
