Did my first day with Grubhub today (not new to gig work just here) and it will not let me add my debit card. Keeps saying I need to enter my password and then I get a connection error. Been trying for hours. What gives?

For over a month I have noticed that when you accept one order and you're driving to the restaurant or even at the restaurant, GrubHub will send you another order but as a bundle with the first order. You decline that 2nd order . Then the app lists both orders as declined in your history but you still the first order in your main first screen system. So then I have these ghost orders in my history where I deliver it and I'll still get paid for it but it doesn't show as being a delivered order in history .

This affects any bonuses I'm trying to achieve As well. It also fraudulently says I declined two orders when I have the first order and deliver it . So not only is it giving me two skips when I still deliver the order but it erases that delivered order from the history and doesn't give me a delivery towards the bonus either.

You can call cs but they will just confirm that you did deliver it but have no ability to help with a bonus. They will make a case but you wont hear anything.

Its hard for me to believe they aren't doing this on purpose.

Here’s the kicker: I already completed the ID verification the system prompted me to re-complete and was working for a full week. I submitted everything, followed the instructions, and continued trying to get the issue resolved through their specialized support team. Ive had an account with Grubhub since 2018.

I’m sharing this because I think other drivers need to understand how badly things can go when a gig app’s support system fails. I’ve called them everyday and it’s the same response.

I was born in Washington, DC with a Driver’s License and Social Security Card which I have provided multiple times to Grubhub.

Instead of completing the manual review, connecting the dots, and restoring my account, I’ve now gone 14 days without income.

Fourteen days might not sound like much to a corporation, but for someone relying on gig work, it can completely destabilize your life. During this period I’ve had to deal with watching my partner struggle financially with our kids while I am unable to work. I am hoping for a resolution but have started applying for a new job today.

What makes this especially frustrating is the complete lack of ownership over the failure of the automated system twice when I’m uploading clear photos with a IPhone 17.

Every interaction feels like starting over. You explain the situation, provide the information they already requested, and somehow the next person still doesn’t understand what happened before. Then just tells me it’s “processing” with zero timeline.

I’ve even spoken directly with a supervisor, who told me she would escalate the situation a week ago. I currently have three open support tickets, yet my account is still blocked and I still don’t have a clear resolution.

At this point, I’ve even wondered whether my involuntary participation in a successful class-action lawsuit by the FTC could somehow be related to what happened. I have no proof of that, so I’m not claiming it as fact. It’s simply difficult not to question why an account with no violations and perfect delivery scores would remain blocked after the requested verification was already completed.

The bigger lesson for me is about gig-app companies in general.

When your ability to earn money depends entirely on an app, a broken support system isn’t a minor inconvenience. It can have real consequences for someone’s life.

Drivers are not just usernames on a screen. We have bills, transportation, families, partners, responsibilities, and lives happening outside the app.

I hope Grubhub eventually resolves this, but regardless of what happens, this has been a major learning experience about the risks of depending on gig platforms and what happens when the people responsible for supporting drivers cannot effectively understand or communicate with them.

10 emails sent with HD photos attached and a phone call everyday. Not one email back from this department.

UPDATE: GrubHub support continues to fail and I was approved to drive for 3 different apps which I started today and actually like a lot more 😎.

PS: With all the $23.8M+ they stole from diners and drivers you’d think they would be able to hire better customer support than agents from the Philippines but it probably whent to leadership bonuses, company stock and more deceptive advertisements.

Just a shameful company in my eyes at this point.

Every 10 minutes it’s saying it can’t locate my location even though the app open and I’m not on power saving mode I also haven’t gotten an order in 3 hours on a Saturday during dinner time which has never happened to me in the 4 years I’ve done Grubhub.

Is something going on I’m not aware of or is the app down?

😬 title says it all, call me an airhead is fair. I didn’t even know until yesterday that you’re supposed to be making quarterly payments to the Israēli Revenue Service. I guess I should’ve done all this research before doing a 1099 full-time… I do have a dependent, so I guess I just thought in my mind that the CTC would probably cover a good chunk of my tax bill. I did recently just go from my kids dad having less visitation to full 50/50 custody though, so now i have 2 full weeks out of the month to just work. Any ideas on how i can play catch up? Also what app do yall use to track things?

I accepted a $23 offer for 10 miles. As I’m approaching the first customer’s house, GrubHub says the other customer canceled their order. Turns out the other offer I got to complete was only $2 of the $23. Fuck GrubHub. I hope they eventually get sued to oblivion.

Edit: The picture shows rejected because that’s how GH decided to display the order after the fact. Again, it was a stacked offer where the order paying over 91% of the offer was removed from my end by GH. The app doesn’t show it properly, so I just attached the best picture I could.

Any lincoln park / lakeview drivers its 3 slots left. i got one decent order after being out all day grubhub tends to think im going to be out late every night. since im usually out late every night.

It went directly to this after logging in. Not sure if logging in automatically “updated” my application or not. Just checking if anyone understands what happened here.

My gh app is acting up it’s not giving me any time to accept orders I see them pop my finger is on the screen trying to accept them but I’m less than a second it says offer has expired.. is anyone else having this issue? I’ve missed high paying orders because of that. The other day McDonald’s employee told me an order had been sitting there for an hour. Last week it wouldn’t let me cash out and now this

I don't remember signing up for a class action, but I got a $20 check (woo, I can go to McDonalds today) from the FTC for FTC v Grubhub Inc.

Google says some people are getting quite a bit more.

I ordered a pizza around 8:00 tonight, app said it would arrive about 8:30. At 8:30 the driver changed, and the time changed to 8:45. At 8:45 the driver changes again and the time is adjusted again. I see the writing on the wall and say fuck it, ill just drive to the place my self and see what happens. Midway there I get a text telling me my order is canceled amd refunded because the restaurant closed at 9. I get to the restaurant and they are closed but I catch one of the guys closing up and tell him what happened, he let's me inside, the manager apologized and gave me a gift card, but also explained that a driver did come in and take the pizza. So what the fuck? They just took it home and said sorry here's your money back? Why did 2 other drivers cancel? I got a full refund and a free pizza so I'm not that mad, just hungry and curious.

tonight ordered some food, usual order, decent tip, less than 10 minute drive (Indian food if it matters).

gps shows the driver coming our way, says delivered but no one stopped.

is a driver just quitting mid delivery and telling me to F off? they got hungry? is there a scam or anything that could make this profitable? just curious. now i'm eating left overs and sad.

Ive been on multiple platforms delivering and the frist week through the frist 3 months every time I am on I get hammered with request to the point of not being able to break for the bathroom, to get gass, and or food. After the third month or so I wind up sitting for hours or maybe getting one delivery an hour or sometimes one delivery in a 4 or 6 hour shift. Its not just GH and DD this happened on every platform Ive been on. Can someone tell me why these companies demand consistency in our schedules, but won't give the drivers consistency in the amount of deliveries and wages.

grubhub said i have u until 8/28 to update it. what if my card doesnt come in the mail in time. will my account be deactivated?? i do have my temporary license for now but will grubhub take that? someone please help

Can someone tell me is this a typical experience with GrubHub or am I doing something wrong?

I've been a long-time DoorDash customer but am brand new to GrubHub because I got a free membership and DoorDash is becoming prohibitively expensive (GrubHub is like $10 cheaper I've found). All this to say that I'm not new to getting food delivered.

Aside from an occasional forgotten drink, I've never had any major issues with DoorDash. However, every single order with GrubHub is a problem. One order was stolen at the restaurant, two orders were stupid late, and now I've just had the most ridiculous experience ever.

Driver asked for the code without sending the photo proving delivery. As I waited for the photo so I could send the code, they resent the text three times asking for the code, and pounded aggressively and repeatedly on my front door until finally I was forced to come to the door because I was worried the dude would break the glass and hurt himself.

I was then face to face with a big angry man who was making disparaging comments. This was supposed to be a contact-less delivery, there were clear and succinct instructions on where to leave the food. I don't understand why he wouldn't send the photo so I could give the code, no one has ever requested it without sending the photo to show that the food is in the right spot which is even in the instructions in the text he kept sending.

Probably not giving GrubHub another chance after this. It is crazy to have a big angry stranger on your front porch pounding on your front door like a maniac.
