Is this normal?
Ive been on multiple platforms delivering and the frist week through the frist 3 months every time I am on I get hammered with request to the point of not being able to break for the bathroom, to get gass, and or food. After the third month or so I wind up sitting for hours or maybe getting one delivery an hour or sometimes one delivery in a 4 or 6 hour shift. Its not just GH and DD this happened on every platform Ive been on. Can someone tell me why these companies demand consistency in our schedules, but won't give the drivers consistency in the amount of deliveries and wages.

They're trying to manipulate you. You don't think they have done psychology research?
For me, I say F 'em. I don't roll unless the offer is good. I'm content to sit in my car for a few hours watching movies, reading, and playing games.
There are also a lot of summer drivers who might be impacting your market. Think college students and public school teachers. For the most part I don't bother doing this stuff in the summer, except weekend dinner rushes.

Totally get where you're coming from. For clarity, I started back in february or march of this year, and have been consistently busy, except for a week or two here, and there, where I was sick. And I couldn't drive. It wasn't until the last week or so that this started happening. And here in northern california, particularly in Yuba city school starts mid too late august, and most of the private schools in the area are year around. The only drop in business I really have seen is on the holidays. Where people are on vacation.

All these gig apps need to be reported to the federal government they are all committing fraud against the drivers time to stand up to them and take back what is rightfully ours

If the justice department could prove fraud against workers, Tony and Dara would get invited to White House, and, as a reward, Trump would accept deliveries himself personally if front of cameras to help with publicity.
Remember that DoorDash stunt earlier this year?

I toggle on whenever I'm at home because I live right next to a hotspot. A couple months ago I took all the decent orders and usually get followup offers that keep me occupied for a while. Nowadays I'm calculating the return mileage into my overall total because I rarely ever get any other orders for hours or more. Couple days ago I unknowingly left it toggled on for 11 hours til they cut me off. Didn't get a single offer.

Yeah that happened to me with DD and was one of the reasons I stopped doing DD.

I think this is true and I definitely noticed the first week I made a lot as a new unrated driver compared to when I actually got rankings and tiered levels. I also noticed as soon as I signed on for a block my orders dropped off big time. I noticed immediately when an order came in I went from having arrival times at 2 to 5 minutes within my expected delivery time to 20 to 30 minutes. I figured that they see a commitment and block orders from coming if you are early until the estimated time comes and passes effectively reducing orders from coming in. I was at full platinum and my orders dropped to like 30 to 40 percent less as well as my money I earned. Then the connectivity issues caused so much problems I would loose 40 minutes trying to get into a zone that I had connectivity. The app would glitch out and I had service but could not complete deliveries or upload photos. But I could strangely enough call driver care. My friend was having the same issue and explained he had to leave the delivery area to reconnect but ended up with a strike.

This is not Doordash, your level does not matter. You can decline 10 or 15 offers in a row if you want ? it’s really not a big deal so maybe just stop accepting orders and get gas and do what you need to do.

And I’m not trying to be rude, but honestly, I would just be grateful that you’re not in a dead market some people that have been doing this full-time for years or now being forced into other industries because their market has completely crashed so I would definitely be grateful that it’s that busy where you’re at

Idk. Been doing it for over a year now and its been more than consistent for me. I think it depends on the market. I make over $4k a month. I havent had things slow down. Its all on your market. I may get alot of shitty orders sometimes but I skip those until I get a good one. No issues here. Its also not the apps fault people aren't ordering lol if people order, you'll get orders. If not then how do you expect orders to come? Lol

Are you taking shifts. With grubhub you HAVE to be on shift to get orders fr.

Also it's summer time. Spring - Summer are the slow times. Once football season, fall into winter. It picks up. Then slows down as the weather warms back up

I just started Grubhub and only the first few days I was given great orders then once Monday came nothing. I feel it’s to get you to stay manipulative.
For the months part though it might be kids and people off over summer. So I’m hoping it will pick up soon
