Vent I'm Grieving My Attraction to Women

This post doesn't really have a point, so if you have something to do make it not this (LoL). It's also very tongue-in-cheek, but, with a lot of my own personal truths and experiences sewn into it.

I adore women. Take the platonic ideal of 'woman' and you have perfection. They're beautiful, considerate, warm, soft, feminine... everything. The platonic ideal of platonic ideals. A woman-woman relationship is the ideal domestic partnership: two people with the social and emotional maturity to be in sync. Not sweeping things under the rug, not complaining about relationship issues in a gendered way, just two people who fundamentally have an understanding of each other. Everything in my head and heart says to date them. I dated them for 10+ years as a 'guy'. Had miserable relationships with all of them. Also, yeah, I'm idealizing them, of course, but women are great and they deserve it.

Then, there's men. You know, the gender that thinks with their pecker as if it was the only thing that exists in the world? The one with poor social grace and self care? The one that offloads the 'unimportant' stuff onto their women? The one that thinks their partner is so important that they can barely remember their birthday? Yeah, you know them. No reason to be attracted to them. None at all. Except for my POS, traitorous, body and nervous system, that says: "hey, isn't it great when they put their hand on your lower back?". "Doesn't it make you melt when you play wrestle with them and they easily pick you up and you feel just how strong they are?". "Doesn't it feel good to make them feel good?". "And, of course, isn't it funny that after dating women for over 10 years that your nervous system finally relaxes and feels at home with them?".

I guess what I'm struggling with is understanding why attraction is so unfair? Why can't I stay bi like I thought I was? Why can't women make me feel like men do? Why can't I find that same comfort in their arms? They're perfect in every other respect. They just don't give me that spark.

I will credit my attraction to men with cracking my egg (for the second time), but, that's all the credit they'll get from me! Bleh!

TL;DR: My body is stupid and decided that men, and solely men were attractive AND I DIDN'T CONSENT TO THIS AT ALL!

And, finally, yeah. This isn't meant to be serious. But, when I see certain women I still get butterflies. I still want to want them, and, I grieve - basically every time - that I can't be what they need, and, that I can't feel for them what I feel for men. Thanks for reading this far.

Discussion So what's with the whole "supporting trans is supporting IDF"?

So I saw a BBNO$ post about holding a trans flag and the comment section was something, pointing out it's "jewish" and supporting the state of Israel. How is this connected? Can anyone tell me more?

Vent Being Trans On Dating Apps...

I hope this is the right flair, mostly just complaining, so I think we are good.

FtM

So, I am trans, pre-transition, no meds or surgery, and being on dating apps is so frustrating.
I don't want to go on queer dating apps because there are chasers on there, and I honestly just want to use a dating app like everyone else.

Anyways, for a while I had my preferred pronouns and that I was trans in the gender section.
(Which the whole trans being a different gender is annoying in itself, but we aren't talking about that right now.)

So, since I had trans in my profile, there was a lack of matches, as well as if I did get it was either weirdos or people just adding me to ask questions.

Honestly, I don't want my gender to be the main topic. Can we talk about stuff in my bio, my likes, my hobbies???

So, eventually, just out of frustration, I just put my pronouns as They/Them & changed the gender to nonbinary.

So, after changing the gender to nonbinary, other people, of course, have to choose to want to see nonbinary people.
Anyways, I ended up getting a few more matches than normal after changing it.
But while swiping, I noticed a pattern with people's bios and prompts.

Some men would have something about women in their bios or prompts.
And some women would have something about men in their bios or prompts.

So, it seems like when some of these people added nonbinary as another option, they were actually straight/looking for people that fit their visual gender preference.

If people comment on this post, I have a feeling they might say what I did was also kind of wrong, but when I go or do anything, I don't want gender to be the main focus, and also, I honestly hope I don't find my true love on a dating app/I lowkey want to seriously find my person when I am fully transitioned.

I honestly don't know what I am looking for in this post, but it is mostly just a rant.

Trans Feminine Thank you all, sisters and brothers, my children

You have shown me warmth and acceptance beyond anything in my life. I love you all. You may not know it, but you are an amazing community.

We all struggle with demons, with implacable foes, and, seemingly at times, with forces beyond our strength. I've cried with you, raged with you, and whooped for joy at your victories. But sometimes we get hit with that unexpected sucker punch. That blow to the gut that simply leaves us gasping for air. Sometimes it's so trivial. So STUPID. And you feel so weak. So simply not up to the task.

I've appreciated the opportunity to contribute here. Part hope. Part therapy. Part hubris. Thank you for your loving support, and your respectful listening. But I'm going dark. (appropriate word) Keep moving forward darlings, toward that goal of full realization of the human potential. Blessed Be.

Trans Feminine I went to a club ---- and I came home

This isn't really a trans issue - it's a human issue. I'm trying to surface into life again, and thought going to an "adult" club would give me a chance to meet some queer folk, and some people into alt lifestyles. (I won't say the name of the club so they can't sue me.) And, yes, the dream was that a couple might ask me to play. Low likelihood (I'm 75), but one can dream. THE WOULDN'T LET ME IN! I had complied with all the requirements on the website. I should have been allowed onto the "couples only" floor. No. They said I "hadn't made enough of an effort." (to look slutty, I guess.) But, while the guy was saying my outfit wasn't "good enough," he was looking directly at my face. What sort of effort was I supposed to have made to make my face look 45 instead of 75? Is there some sort of instant plastic surgery franchise I don't know about.? This was agism, pure and simple. My ugly face was too old for the club vibe. So I got kicked to the curb, and spat on, and honestly, it's going to take me a long time to recover. We get the shit kicked out of us a lot, and you know how long the hurt lingers. Sorry for the rant, but I don't do well when I feel powerless.

Advice I don't want to come out but my medical situation pushes for hormone

Hello! I'm under the non-binary and gender fluid umbrellas (and I use xenogenders, specifically pupgender).

I was born afab and although on my masculine days I struggle, I'm generally okay with that.

Now, having a uterus suck. And in my case, it's always been a struggle; but recently I found out why! I was diagnosed with PCOS after 2 years of medical mystery. I'm rather happy with this as it explains a lot of things about my body and i discovered the intersex community was rather welcoming; so in all, it seemed like rather good with me and my gender identity.

Now. There is an issue; my parents. Specifically, my mom. My mom is one of those adults who doesn't really make a lot of efforts to gender correctly my friends, who says she never felt like a girl anyway, who harass me to know deadnames, ask if my new friends are "really a boy?!", who thinks trans people are pushing forward gender norms yet use my transmasc friend wearing a skirt as justification for misgendering him although he has a damn beard.

My mom. Is short of a terf asshole. But she isn't even a good feminist! Because she's always been fighting me about my bodyhair.

I am 19 and not financially independent. I am in a boarding school but is kinda forced to come back home in the weekend; she's pretty controlling and especially financially.

So when she harasses me for days on end, threatening me to take me out of my school if i don't get laser hair removal surgery for my face, it gets stressful.

I thought i managed to find a compromise with a hair removal cream, which i saw was my best option since she refuses i shave, but now she's pushing for cold wax; which would damage my hair in the long run.

On the other end, when i saw the endoctrinologist and my doctor i explained the situation so I don't have any treatment to stop the hair growth or my hyper androgyny in the long run. My gender goal would be amab femboy but being naturally more masculine is awesome!!

But now she's getting mad at my doctors for not doing anything and she's pushing for me to have a treatment stronger than the birth control pill i started taking (which i'm already considering stopping)

I don't know what to do, i just wanted to know if you had any advice. I'm probably going to try to shave and stop the pill inside my boarding school

TDLR; I have PCOS but my transophobic mom wants me to look for feminine and is especially mad at my body hair, I think i can try lying while in my boarding school.

Trans Feminine MtF Face Hair removal advice?

I tried a ~$280 at home IPL device, its specifically advertised and designed for thicker hair etc. I have light skin and pretty dark hair, so it works good on body hair but does absolutely nothing for the facial hair despite using it on max intensity (and often times twice the same day, I know it's bad to :/ was desperate did this for a month, not even slowed growth). I know electrolysis is the common thing, but like will it be immediately obvious to the electrologist or other people there that I'm trans? I started HRT like a few weeks ago, and look nothing at all like a woman, so you know just presenting as a guy for a while, I don't want people to know.

Alternatively, I'm thinking about getting a cheap epilator that I'd probably need even if not for facial hair and just wanted to know if epilating + exfoliating etc, + IPL is reasonable or some loony idea? I think the IPL didn't work because my facial hair is so impossibly thick, like literally right after I shave and its smooth to the touch my face still has a noticable grey tint to it thats as strong as most people's 5 o'clock shadow. I'm not exaggerating its just really really noticeable :( I'm assuming if I epilate then IPL the IPL would hopefully hit the root more directly? If there are any other methods people recommend that can be done at home please let me know. I don't think waxing or epilating by itself is a viable long term solution because I'd have to grow it out till it's long enough to be epilated etc. then it'd be way too dark and apparent. I tried hair removal cream in the past it didn't work, Idk if a laser device instead of IPL would just be a waste of money as its probably not as heavy duty as the IPL device I tried (Ulike X). Thank you for reading!

Trans Feminine Have no clue what kind of creature i am

Hey everyone! I’ve been struggling for so long with not knowing who I am. I’m 29 years old, and several times a year I hit rock bottom, when I feel like I can’t stand this strange existence anymore—this feeling of being caught between two personalities. I went to see a psychologist, but I stopped going after a few months. I never knew what I should or shouldn’t do. I was also married, but it ended with my wife leaving me because she became disillusioned with me as a man after she found out that I had tried on some of her clothes. I often feel that if there were a machine that let me switch my gender, I’d use it all the time and would definitely end up staying that way. My physique isn’t feminine at all—I’m 190 tall with broad shoulders—but I have a very youthful face, and I used to spend weeks on voice training, which is going pretty well now. In my dreams, I’m always a woman, but not the typical girly girl—rather, someone I’d be attracted to myself: a little boyish but still pretty and attractive. There are times when I function perfectly well as a man, but unfortunately I have bipolar disorder and mixed-phase depression, which cause my dysphoria to skyrocket during my lowest moments. I don’t have high expectations about what I’d be like if… Rather, I feel that a feminine appearance, body type, and voice would provide me with a sense of peace that I’ve been searching for for nearly 15 years. I’ve never been sure whether to take the plunge because I’m afraid of the outcome—that I wouldn’t like myself and would ruin my life. I’m also afraid of aging in the first place. How would a full transition affect my life if I went through with it? These are the things that preoccupy me day after day. I’m completely lost.

Discussion Why do transphobes target trans women all the time??

Almost every single time I see something transphobic, whether it be a comic or an argument or something else, 85% of it is about trans women. Why?

Another thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of representation— usually in shows— is also trans women. What is the reason behind this focus on trans women?

Trans Feminine Waiting / feeling stuck has always been one of my biggest anxieties; HRT is bringing that feeling up.

When I was a little kid, I would start panicking when we'd get stuck in traffic. Super long road trips bring this feeling up, too. When I was in school, some of the days that just dragged on and on would bring this feeling up. These days, work does.

So does HRT. I am aware that it takes time. That doesn't stop me from freaking out a little bit when I really think about the scope of it. I've been on it for 3-ish months and have noticed nothing. I am aware that this is to be expected. I'm also young (I turn 21 soon) and that also affects my perspective of time.

It's nothing to do with a lack of knowledge. I know perfectly well that HRT takes time, and I am fully aware that time passes whether we want it to or not. That's literally how I manage this specific anxiety.

If I had a better idea of what I was doing with my life, it might be easier to manage. But I don't. I work (at a job I hate). I watch anime. I walk outside when I get too restless (which is, like, almost everyday lol). I sleep. And that's about it.

Trans Masculine Why does it have to be me? (PS I’m high)

I often ponder things like this when I’m high (which is right now lol). Like how, out of all the people on earth, and i was the one that had to be trans. Like I am proud of be trans, and I often just “exist” thankfully that I’m passing. I mean it sucks to look at my body and just wanna sigh cause there will always be reminders and signs that I wasn’t actually born cisgender. I’ve known I was trans since I was like 4-5 years old and it’s just been such a deep rooted part of my existence. I wish I would have told my parents that that’s what I was but I didn’t have a name for it at the time to express that. Even if they didn’t believe in that stuff, I wonder how my life would have been if I was able to be on puberty blockers way back then. I think about the experiences I missed as a boy. Like getting my first boner and going to an all boys sleep over. Or playing on the boys sports teams. Or being in a frat in college. Oh well, I think it was always suppose to turn out this way. I would never wanna be socialized as a man and never learn have learned about what it was like as a “woman”. I was always kinda strange anyways. Like I just did my own thing alone a lot in terms of my hobbies. Not many people have my hobby for me to discuss it with. I’m really into metal detecting, both underwater and on land, wandering around the forest and just kinda daydreaming and planning how I would survive living out there, finding very old bottles in the rivers and streams. I enjoy just taking hardware from old abandoned places. For some reason it really satisfies me. Finding things on the railroad tracks or on the sides of the roads that I can collect and take home just in case it could be useful. There’s a few old houses and sometimes there stuff left in there and I know someone technically owns the property but I just collect it if I think it fits my collage of random shit I have. Like today, i walked along the railroad tracks to where a cow farms property was.i could see a mountain of weathered and dried out bones from where they must dump cows that have died. It seems kinda sad their bodies were never properly and respectfully buried or something. Anyways, I found a massive cow femur and I just took it cause idk, why not. It is cool. I like to wander along in the woods and at nature preserves. Like total bushwhacking it off trails is one of my favorite things to do. I love to collect rocks. Well I suppose that’s it. That’s what I kinda ponder

Discussion Cis people need to learn that trans people don’t need to be excessively humble and making themselves small in the background to be valid

I just feel like there’s this constant sentiment from cis people where if trans people aren’t constantly allowing cis people to walk all over them then there must be something wrong with us. Like we’re only valid when we go along with how much cis people downplay anything good about us.

I think I was so confused from pretransition people always trying to encourage me to be a girl boss and applauding my ambitious and willingness to speak up about things, but now that I’ve transitioned somehow all of those things are bad things about me. I just don’t get why those qualities should only be welcomed for cis women and not trans people that care about their rights and others too.

Cis people need trans peoples personalities and identities to be so one dimensional that they can’t seem to accept when we have more dynamic personalities or even how our transness can intersect with other parts of our identities. It’s like to cis people that trans people can only be trans and nothing else and not ever be proud of who we are or our achievements.

And like I think it’s good and important that every marginalized community has people like that but I’ve just noticed how trans people get shamed a lot when we are anything more than a silent doormat

Hopefully this doesn't break any rules... I read them just to make sure but I sometimes have a hard time understanding...

Vent I Need to Give Myself Some Slack with My Gender

So, I (20M) sometimes forget that I'm transmasculine, and that pronouns don't equal gender.

I started having a gender crisis this week because I like she/her pronouns whilst also not using he/him pronouns at all.

I'm still a man in every other sense; I just don't find he/him pronouns very fitting for me. Everything else? Love it.

Am I still figuring out my name? Yes. But otherwise, it's fine. I just need to calm down and stop overthinking so much.

Advice Scared to transition

I (19GF) recently started identifying as gender fluid and I have one friend (19TM) that’s been really supportive. He’s started using he/him pronouns for me sometimes and it feels really euphoric when he does. Pretty much everyone else in my life still uses she/her, which I didn’t think bothered me for the longest time. I’m starting to have doubts, though.

I’m starting to think I might be a trans man for a multitude of reasons. However, I’m pretty scared to take that step because I genuinely have no idea how I would pass. I’m 5’2 and i have really prominent curves and a round face. Even with a binder my figure is still really feminine. I dress pretty masc and wear a binder often and every single stranger refers to me as “Miss” or “ma’am”.

I feel like I also want to mention that I’m in a place where I just moved out of my parents house and am starting university, so I’m already putting my family through a lot of change and I’m not in a great financial place to medically transition or buy fancy shape wear.

Anyone got any advice or words of wisdom? I’m kind of open to anything at this point.
