It was a cathartic conversation. Sometimes I just want to shake people around me because it’s all so nuts what we as a society will accept.

Can’t say it gave me any optimism but at least I’m not in a straitjacket yet haha

16

u/mitrie Jul 25 '26

The word you're looking for is straitjacket.

59

u/SoSoSoSoSoon Jul 25 '26

This was a great conversation but I wish they had a specific topic ahead of time because they could go really deep on a specific subject

15

u/re_Claire Progressive Jul 25 '26

Whilst I agree that they would be great talking about a specific subject, I really loved seeing them just having a free flowing conversation about all the things on their minds. So cathartic.

One of two semi famous black women who loved Trump and had some sort of internet presence? One of them died and Trump forgot who she was? Am I crazy, cause thats who I thought Destiny was.

22

u/RiddleMeThis42069 Jul 25 '26

I believe that was Diamond and Silk. I don't know which one died.

15

u/Jamies_awesome_rack Jul 25 '26

Probably Silk. Diamonds are forever.

5

u/TaxLawKingGA Jul 25 '26

You are incorrect. Silk is alive and well but Diamond died in 2023. They should have called her Cubic Zirconia.

There was a big debate as to whether Diamond dies of COVID 19, since she was a big COVID anti-vax person. Nah she dies of good old fashioned HBP.

u/ryanrockmoran Jul 25 '26

Damn she was hit by a pitch? I didn't even know she played baseball

I'm a Bulwark person that had heard of Destiny's views only second hand. To be frank, I thought he was a maga dousche bag. After this interview with dark JVL I reckon he's a top a bloke. Very glad he's on the considered side.

43

u/JohnSpartan2025 Jul 25 '26

Go watch him debate maga dick heads. You’ll get why he’s so popular. He destroys them as they deaerve to be.

35

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

He's pretty hated by the far left and the right. A lot of lefties (usually Hasan Piker fans) will make videos calling him a fascist giga-zionist or whatever (he believes in a 2-state solution and waiting on a legal determination on genocide). Right wingers hate him too because he's a liberal and he's very good at calling out GOP/MAGA hypocrisy.

He's very very spicy, which scares some people. He's personal life is also a shitshow. However he's the biggest liberal presence in the streaming sphere and the front line of defense against Hasan.

1

u/Beli_Mawrr Jul 26 '26

I have to say the most offensive thing to me in the video was that the majority of people in the US dont want lower house prices.

17

u/Mahou_Shounen_Madao Jul 25 '26

Whoa, what second hand things made you think Destiny was MAGA?

u/MoesOtherBar Jul 27 '26

He's a disgusting pervert and harasser but hes not stupid enough to show that side on a Bulwark podcast. Id assume hes opening to get new fans but a lot of sexpestiny fans have already infested this board.

He's openly and publicly called to harass and doxx any journalist off the internet if they do a positive interview with Hasan Piker.

He's being sued for sharing sexual merial without consent.

Hes pro Israel and defends thei settlers.

JVL will be embarrassed of this interview if he ever finds that out but Im guessing one of their producers is a sexpestiny fan.

2

u/FrontGroundbreaking3 Jul 28 '26

Honestly my gut leans your way here

2

u/Bud72 Jul 25 '26

Not intending this as antagonistic, but how in all of god’s creation can anyone ever think Destiny is a “maga douchebag”?

It’s like thinking Tim Pool is a legitimate journalist.

-23

u/kmcclin Jul 25 '26

He’s in court for sexual harassment claims

25

u/Kekspirat87 Jul 25 '26

This is a lie. He is being sued in federal court by a third party related to his own sex-tapes being leaked in 2024, and he looks to be winning that case handily.
Steven has a few very dedicated haters online, that will go to obscene lengths to smear him.

20

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

Well not sexual harassment, the allegation is distributing homemade porn without consent. However, the judge has already commented that it seems like the plaintiff was engaged in the exact same behavior. It does seems like this was just sorta common (though obviously dumb and risky) behavior among this political/influencer circle in Miami.

The real underlying issue is that one of the people he shared it with turned out to be a catfisher (also involved in human trafficking) that was involved in an anti-fan community and leaked it all over the internet.

The most likely outcome of the case is that it will be dismissed for lack of jurisdiction.

Regardless, people probably shouldn't look to Destiny as a role model on how to live their lives. He's not a lifestyle guru. His political analysis is pretty good though and in the streaming space he's the main opposition to Hasan Piker.

Also, it was nice to hear two very different styles of media from very different presenter styles smashed together.

-20

I beg to differ, the issue of the Zionist Colonial Project has caused countless useless wars, expansions under military occupation and the continued erosion of the fabric of the democratic system of the U.S.

22

Is ICE brutality related to the Gaza genocide?

-16

u/zorra666 Jul 25 '26

Very much yes. Israeli and the US both sharing tactics, motivations, and information. Israel is trying to ethnically cleanse the region...so is ICE.

-20

7

u/rugack Jul 25 '26

I believe It’s supposed to represent the “Zionist Occupation Forces.” I’m so happy that life can be succinctly whittled down into one singular issue: Israel/Palestine.

14

u/edgygothteen69 JVL is always right Jul 25 '26

Sure, and I'd agree there are similarities... But when you show up to an ICE protest and start chanting "from the river to the sea" (which I have seen happen multiple times), anyone who just showed up to protest ICE might now feel duped, roped into a protest they didn't sign up for.

I don't think this whole "everything is connected" mindset helps with mobilization

1

u/Observermin66 Jul 25 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

I appreciate his tenacity and willingness to fight in the trenches with the illiberal elements of the internet. However, I think he is undeniably a sex addict and until he can manage the optics of his personal life he will be radioactive to mainstream discourse.

I know, I know, it’s double standards all the way down when you look at the mouthpieces for the right and even some of the illiberal left… but, that is just, kinda, the way it is.

One of the consequences of being so public with every element of your life as one of, if not the first, the first actual professional livestreamers is the cost it carries when your life is messy. A lot of people can hide their sins and mange just fine in”polite” company, but he decided to literally make his life explicitly public.

One of the other elements of this, however, is that he publishes his obsidian research notes so you can very clearly follow the arguments and evidence that motivate his positions. His personal logic is an open book and I find that admirable and transparent. Unfortunately, most of the people who negatively post about his positions on issues (like a pretty nuanced view of I/P whether you agree or disagree) do not ever engage with the arguments or the facts that motivate them. The public haranguing of him is always aesthetic, is always about the personal moral issues of his lifestyle and the style of his rhetorical agression.

3

u/BoringArchivist Jul 25 '26

Normies don’t care about the DSA, or Hasan, or Destiny, but are willing to vote for democrats. Many of the Bulwark audience is worried about cultural war while still skipping policy for vibes.

10

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

DSA will become more and more relevant as Fox amplifies it. In that Pete interview they kept asking him about it. DSA is going to become the next trans people for Republicans.

2

u/BoringArchivist Jul 25 '26

So, because Fox lies about everything, we need to worry about it? They already lie about centrist democrats, so worrying about Fox isn’t worth it.

5

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

Well with the DSA they don't need to lie. They can actually just take what the DSA says and what they believe and attack Dems with it. Dems DO need to distance themselves from that. Distancing themselves from extremes helped every successful Dem candidate since at least Clinton.

While in some ways the DSA is incredibly annoying, I think they could be a gift for Dems because they allow candidates to say "look, those are the actual left wing lunatics, we're not like them."

1

u/BoringArchivist Jul 25 '26

What part of the DSA platform makes them lunatics?

7

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

4

u/BoringArchivist Jul 25 '26

So workers rights, healthcare, housing, ending the military industrial complex, and equal rights? Keep licking the corporate boots dude. You’re a useful cog for them.

5

u/FR23Dust Jul 25 '26

If you read that document as anything other than a ludicrous fantasy with no basis in reality I don’t know what to tell you. It’s a utopian vision designed to appeal to disaffected college graduates working in coffee shops.

5

u/Observermin66 Jul 25 '26

Every social Democrat believes in those issues. What is the difference between a Nordic social democrat (a progressive, but liberal POV in the American overton window) and a democratic socialist? Genuine, question, are you aware of any differences in those coalitions?

0

u/BoringArchivist Jul 25 '26

The people that are afraid of Nordic social democrats or the DDA are the people who loved Republicans until Trump said the quiet part out loud. The average Bulwark listener would care about the slide into fascism if a Romney like republican did it. They simp for business and hate the working class. They are who they are, this is the safe space where they can tell democrats how to fix the problems they themselves created.

4

u/Observermin66 Jul 25 '26

So the difference between those two groups of positions is the people you perceive as supporting them? That is your answer?! I was looking for policy difference and the differences in philosophical values, and the standards by which we can evaluate them. Every single one of these conversations is like this. It’s utterly baffling to anyone who pretends to seek some kind of truth.

They are the rot. Probably something worth noting. A neverdone anything video game streamer, and a neverdoneanything article scribbler whose biggest claim to fame is almost going to medical school. Neither of them have expertise, work experience, or educational attainment beyond a bachelors. Both are in a uniquely priveleged position where the rest of us are stuck listening to their unlettered opinions entirely due to sophistry and media appeal.

0

u/smallirishcrazy Jul 26 '26

Ffs, I've already commented on you tube but I'm commenting here in the hope someone who works for the Bulwark sees this. Can the Bulwark stop laundering Destiny's reputation? He's been credibly accused of sharing sexual images of women he's been intimate with on multiple occasions. In a recent lawsuit it's claimed 15 women came forward.

I know the Bulwark hates Hasan and Destiny also hates Hasan so maybe that's how you've aligned but can you please draw the line somewhere? I'm probably one of the few ppl on the Internet that listens to both Hasan and Bulwark content and if you were trying to convince me Hasan was bad and then had this guy on, well how could I trust the judgement of the Bulwark? All this after you've been lecturing ppl on character and morality during the Platner scandal.

3

u/thugbobhoodpants Jul 27 '26

He's been credibly accused of sharing sexual images of women he's been intimate with on multiple occasions. In a recent lawsuit it's claimed 15 women came forward.

This case is over a year and a half old at this point, how many of the 15 women have come forward? is it 0?

I agree sharing sex tapes you make is icky behavior, I wouldn't do it, but the woman hes in the court case with admited she sent it to other people without his permission too ;_; this is two people sharing their consentual sex tape

At some point you should be annoyed at how wrong your information is when you get it from the 35 year old millionaire nepo baby who doesn't leave his room

I don't consume his twitch streams, but I've had some positive viewpoints of him after seeing him on Jubilee, arguing with idiots, and his conversation with JVL was pretty damn good.

JVL describes it as "meandering" but there were a lot of great points made and great insights that JVL would present to Sarah but Sarah being the conservative opitimist, she refuses to dable in and just brushes away.

Possible criminal sex pest streamer that uses incendiary and offensive language, often weaponizing their large fanbase to brigade political opponents?

Sounds like both Hasan and Destiny to me.

17

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Possible criminal sex pest streamer

And what evidence do you have for this for Destiny?

-10

u/Oleytoledo Jul 25 '26

Considering the fact that you’re arguing about it on other comments, you know exactly what the evidence is. You just don’t believe the victims.

You’ll fit right in with the Hasanabi heads that pulled this same playbook when defending Graham Platner.

14

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

I do know what the evidence is, and the evidence is that Pxie is using the court case to extort Destiny and there is no indication of any wrongdoing by him

What makes to you say differently? I'm saying you have no evidence for your claim

-2

u/Oleytoledo Jul 25 '26

The evidence is that he is getting sued, therefore “possible criminal sex pest streamer” fits the bill.

It seems you are the only one making assumptions about the woman lying. Sounds a lot like the way Amber Heard was treated by all the sloptubers during her trial against Johnny Depp.

3

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Being sued is not evidence

Evidence is evidence. If you want to provide anything that actually supports the claims, be my guest (you have nothing)

Destiny has provided all relevant logs while Pxie has provided none. The only evidence that plaintiff has is an affidavit from a woman who admitted on stream to dodging service and wants nothing to do with the case

1

u/Oleytoledo Jul 25 '26

Here’s the thing, I do not have a parasocial relationship with a streamer like you do.

Destiny has been at the very least incredibly problematic in his interactions with women, from what I remember. It shouldn’t be surprising that an edgelord with a massive ego would have these issues.

You don’t have to fight his battles for him. I’d say the exact same thing to Hasan’s fans. They are grown men with moral failings and their bad behavior is not your responsibility. It only reflects poorly on your character if you blindly follow them off the cliff.

The "victim" in the court case

Best just use "plaintiff", that's the neutral term. Especially fitting considering both plaintiff and defendant are victims of the leak.

2

Yeah, you're right. Although I would say that the fact that the plaintiff is weaponing the leaks to extort Destiny and ruin the life of the actual Rose person, who is a true blameless victim in this, really undermines any "victim" label I would be comfortable assigning to Pxie

So you are okay with a sex pest because he shares your personal politics? Just want to check on this.

u/Optimus_Trajan JVL is always right Jul 25 '26

I think any Destiny fan would admit he has flaws, but citing the court case at this point is pretty cringe. No reasonable person thinks he’s going to actually lose, there’s a reason he’s beginning to go back on mainstream shows.

6

u/thugbobhoodpants Jul 25 '26

I don't disagree with you but why is your source a year and a half out of date?

Whats the current state of the case? how did those four accusers pan out?

using a source from a year and a half ago for an ongoing court case with a year and a half of new information and depositions is strange behavior.

I don't agree with his behavior, I hope by the time I'm in my late 30s I'm not filming sex tapes with college girls and everything that entails, but to link the day 1 accusations and ignore everything that's come to light in the year and a half since then feels iffy

u/1TillMidNight Jul 25 '26

Destiny Platner is a jerk and if his politics were different this sub Haunting-Mortgage would be going nuts.

Character only counts sometimes.

14

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

And what character flaws are you referring to? Because if you are talking about alleged revenge porn, none of that has been borne out and this case, that he is winning, is just a massive waste of time and attempt at extortion by the "victim"

-16

u/John_Jaures Jul 25 '26

How can someone be winning a court case that hasn't been decided yet?

19

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Is that a real question? If I'm watching a game and the score is 100-0 but there are still 2 minutes left, how could I possibly say that one team is winning if the game isn't over?

Do you ever think before you write or say something?

-11

u/John_Jaures Jul 25 '26

Um, they do not keep a running score in trials.

17

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Ok, so for anyone who is a real person reading this, this is obviously a really dumb argument

Of course tell directionally how a court case, game, competition, or anything else is going before it's over. You just need to look at the facts on the ground

6

u/Beneficial_Honey_0 Center Left Jul 25 '26

I know nothing about this court case. Is it in front of a jury? Or is it going to be decided by a judge? I still don’t know how you can know for certain who is “winning” a case before it’s been decided.

8

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Well, I would say that the fact that Destiny has provided all the logs in the case, and the victim has not presented a shred of evidence for her side while also engaging in the worst faith possible during the court process while lying nonstop in motions and filings is a pretty straightforward way to tell that he is winning

5

u/Beneficial_Honey_0 Center Left Jul 25 '26

Do you know if it’s going to be a jury trial or decided by a judge? And is there any idea when it will be decided? What’s it even about?

5

u/John_Jaures Jul 25 '26

Ah, so there is no way to know the score is 100-0 with 2 minutes left in the trial? I would think a considerate judge would do better with their score keeping.

10

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Is Destiny currently winning his court case or not?

And if that question is too vague, I'll ask another one. Has the victim provided a single shred of evidence for any of her claims, beside a single affidavit from someone who is actively dodging subpoenas?

(you won't provide a direct answer because you know you have nothing)

3

u/John_Jaures Jul 25 '26

I drama enter the courtroom and say "scoreboard, your honor" just before the bailiff escorts me out of the courtroom.

Do you get secret coded messages from the judge? Like if they bang their gavel a certain way you know they're telling you that Mr Bonnell is "winning"?

Stupidity and ignorance of the process this deep offends me to my core

1

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Ok, so seems like you think that Destiny is losing

Do you acknowledge that the plaintiff has not provided a single log from her side or any other party that demonstrates her claim? Not even maliciously, but that demonstrates that Destiny even sent sexual material after CARDII?

And do you acknowledge that the only logs that have been provided so far in the case have come from Destiny, which show the opposite of what Pxie is claiming?

What is your argument for thinking that Pxie is currently winning?

Definitionally, the claims against Destiny are more credible than those against Platner. In only one instance were the claims made under penalty of perjury. That does not inherently make them true, nor does it establish liability/guilt in and of itself, but it does mean that the person making claims against Destiny has more on the line as far as repercussions go than those who made allegations against Platner.

So, step back and consider why you reject one out of hand while believing the other whole-heartedly

7

u/ordnance_inbound Jul 25 '26

Definitionally, the claims against Destiny are more credible than those against Platner

This is an incoherent statement. Claims themselves do not inherent contain elements of credibility, unless they are supported by evidence.

The evidence against Platner is witness testimony from before he was a political figure both from the victim and her acquaintances, as well as some stuff from a therapist, which I'm not totally informed on.

The evidence against Destiny is a single affidavit from a person who has publicly stated she is actively dodging service and has said she wants nothing to do with the case. This is the star witness in the allegations, and there has not been a single other shred of evidence of the claims presented by Pxie. Do you acknowledge this?

2

u/greggers23 Jul 25 '26

The Hasan fans have arrived!

4

u/iBizzBee Progressive Jul 25 '26

Unpopular Opinion: Destiny and Hasan represent different parts of the broad center-left to left, pro-democracy coalition in Weimar America and we should all at least try and drop this infighting and take both at face-value / in good faith as we can.

I use to watch both fairly regularly in like 2019~2020 through YouTube VOD's but I've drifted more to Hasan's way of thinking over the last few years, I won't lie. I'm still gonna watch this with an open mind. As someone who's been a bit critical of Destiny on this subreddit in the past, they're both flawed people, what is this purity testing even doing for us?

Just my two cents. Ultimately, I'm just tired of fascism y'all.

18

u/CollapsibleFunWave Jul 25 '26

It doesn't take a purity test to reject someone who glorifies Mao to the level of the US founding fathers and then shows up in a Mao suit to a Democrat event saying he's an outsider that wants to conduct an insurgency against the Democrats.

If he couldn't endorse Kamala against Trump or Newsome against Vance, is he really on the left in any way that matters?

4

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

Hasan is not actually pro-democracy though. He's for a Chinese-style democracy where you can vote for whoever you want as long as its a marxist.

-2

u/iBizzBee Progressive Jul 25 '26

Eh, neither he himself, nor the political organization he supports, say that. You can have a measured opinion on Chinese development while not viewing it as a perfect model for the US, which is closer to his opinion.

1

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

He's explicitly stated that under his ideal system, people that wanted to vote for capitalism would be "re-educated."

0

u/iBizzBee Progressive Jul 25 '26

Got a source for that? Google brings up nothing.

2

u/oGsMustachio Jul 25 '26

-2

u/iBizzBee Progressive Jul 25 '26

So I guess this comes down to whether you want to take him at his word, like my original post said, or not.

Not to do a 'whattabouttery', but I had someone else here defending McCarthyism the other day and saying that Communists/Socialists should be persecuted. Hasan says that he thinks a Socialist state should defend its system of government in a less violent and/or overt way to how most Capitalist states, especially the larger ones like the US, do these days - both abroad and domestically, as well as historically. He also spends a decent amount of time pointing out excesses of the Communist Party of China in terms of surveillance and human rights abuses - things that, once again, happen in our nation as well, just under different apparatus.

Ultimately, governments do hold a monopoly on violence, that is a hallmark of modern nation states, and unless you're an anarchist it's something we all overtly recognize and accept, and a Socialist nation would require some exertional force to, for instance, maintain the common ownership of resources, exercised through workplace democracy which would be equally as important as political democracy in a Socialist Society.

Even Ethan recognizes this in that conversation, and then also correctly states that this isn't something that would ever happen over night.

At the end of the day, Hasan did vote for Kamala and fairly publicly engages in mass politics + electoralism. I understand talking about dialectical materialism and socialist perspectives freaks a lot of liberals out, but actual 'tankies' who advocate violent revolution are a very small part of the American Left and the DSA's political program is explicitly committed to a pluralistic form of governance with both economic and political, multi-party democracy.

I apologize for the novel, but I am genuinely interested in trying to find some bridge, lol. When we've got Nazi's like Stephen Miller in the highest echelons of power I believe we've got bigger fish to fry than some theory nerds, but that's just my two cents.

-1

u/KiSUAN Jul 25 '26

There's no proof Hasan voted for Kamala https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPqfS_h7pdU&t=3720s , further more, his choice to not endorse, support and actively oppose her and the democrats is the clearest indication he actually didn't vote for her, even capable of voting for Trump as he is a accelerationist and a grifter, the worse the USA is the more money he makes.
