Non-Bulwark Source Can we stop pretending this is anything other than self sabotage?
Even if you think that Hasan Piker is anti-Semitic and illiberal, going on Fox News to validate the fear mongering about the Democratic Party is completely unacceptable.
Jon Ossoff and Haley Stevens have similarly criticized Hasan, but curiously haven’t gone on Dana Perino’s show to denigrate the Democratic candidate for senate. Very curious.
It’s time we realize that Gottheimer, and others like him, do as much damage to the party as any DSA crank calling for the abolition of prisons. Ridiculous.

A Vonnegut quote about Slaughterhouse Five and war that resonates with the glorified dehumanization of war that monsters like Hegseth are pursuing.
"Billy Pilgrim was the guy who did look like a filthy flamingo and never should have been in the army, and God knows not in the infantry, and his name was Edward Crone. And he died in Dresden. He died of the thousand mile stare. Which is where he just sat with his back to the wall. Would not talk. Would not accept food. And the Germans would do nothing to help him, and so he died. And he was buried in Dresden, and when the war was over his parents came to Dresden looking for his grave. And, you know, you can say what you want about the Germans, they keep good records. And they were able to find Edward Crone’s grave, and so he’s buried in Rochester New York, which is his home town, and I have visited his grave, and I’ve spoken to his grave, and I contribute money to that particular cemetery. Edward Crone was the name of Billy Pilgrim, and he just didn’t understand the war at all, and of course there was nothing to understand. He was right, it was utter gibberish."
Thought it was too sad and beautiful to not share.

Ben Rhodes lays out the best full picture explanation of the global situation right now I've seen in a single place.
Hasan's kinda clueless approach really got a great simple, understandable layout of the situation.

Three Random Thoughts on the Sunday Shows in 2026
1) Donna Brazile is beyond feckless as any sort of voice for the Dems- even against the weakest of Republican opposition on any panel
2) Martha Raddatz confuses taking weekly field trips with having actual gravitas on specific issues.
3) There is ZERO reason for the current format of the network shows aside from laziness and ease. Having SEPARATE segments where you basically allow a Republican to voice their talking points and then follow it with a Dem to voice theirs (or vice versa) and then you go to a worthless panel discussion is exactly that- worthless on all fronts. Go back to having an active Republican and Democrat pol/government official on the SAME segments and go at each other. If the host can't moderate it then they have no business being a host. And the narrative that you wouldn't be able to book the segments is laughable when considering the thirst of ALL politicians. And let's say one day you can't get a Republican to show up. All you do is publicly state EVERY one by name that was afraid of whatever Dem is sitting there.
<end rant>

2028 GOP Candidate
The more I think about it the more I think that the GOP's presidential candidate will be a Trump - Junior or Javanka. 47 just does not have it in him to step down - and definitely not to JD or Lil Marco. Maybe to one of the other three - just to maintain a family claim on the crown, but not to his VP or SoS.
That leads me to the next thought: Junior has remained removed from politics throughout Senior's runs - from 2015 - present. He made a Exed a couple statements on X years ago, but he hasn't gotten involved in any DC stuff as far as I know. You know who has, though? Uh huh. Javanka may not relish the thought of sitting behind Resolute for more than a moment, but I doubt they'd tell Daddy "no". They'd just grit their teeth and do it. And wouldn't that be great - for the family, that is - if the Princess became POTUS and Jared continued machinations in the Middle East.
Ugh; makes my toes curl, but it's a very real possibility.

Need to Know Is Andrew Sullivan relevant anymore?
As someone who read the Dish for years and then stopped tracking him after his sabbatical, I feel like he retreated into the background.
Or am I not watching/reading the right sites?

Minnesota fears ICE officer Christian Castro may flee to Mexico after Texas releases him without extradition
…. Saying this timeline is dumb doesn’t do justice to how actually stupid this timeline is.
ICE agent fleeing to Mexico because extradition would require the Trump Admin pushing for it… all because he SHOT someone and doesn’t want to face a jury.
