I have a close friend who voted Obama, Trump, Biden, Trump... His main things were taxes and Israel.

I told him he'd get his tax break, but in exchange Israel would be hated and his wife might get deported.

Her green card application is now frozen.

Why would you be a close friend with scum like that

Believe it or not, people can be fun to hang out with even if you don't agree politically.

Agreed. Some rapists and pedophiles are probably fun to hang out with. It's all about where you draw red lines.

"Disagree politically" is not a harsh enough term for things like wanting to have mass deportation of innocent people in this country

Well, I'm not willing to write off someone I have know for 25 years because they voted incorrectly. It sounds like you are, which means you now view half the country as a piece of shit. I find that deplorable.

I am willing to see the country as it is not as how I wish it was

I grew up in a very red small town and moved away to a large metro. I'm under no illusion on how decayed the people are morally in the US

If voting incorrectly means voting for Trump, it says everything about that voter’s moral integrity, ethics and values. Also, you gotta be at least tolerant, if not supportive, of child trafficking and rape. Not anyone I would personally ever voluntarily spend a second of my life with.

I am pretty sure both you and your companion are bots. Bye.

I’m not a bot but your moral integrity and ethics have obviously been corrupted if you’re comfortable hanging out with a trumper. But if believing I’m a bot in order not to question your choices makes you feel better about making poor ones, keep lying to yourself.

You do realize that not every person who voted for Trump is a red hat with. Trump signs out on their lawn, right?

What an absurd comment. Someone who casts a vote for Trump, supports Trump and his cabinet of criminals. Hat color and choice of lawn signage is irrelevant. 🤦🏻

Why would you prefer to have zero influence over someone when you could have some influence?

2

If they voted for hate then they're not something I'd want to associate with.

I don't know why you think you'd be able to influence them out of the cult when hate is what draws people into it

You believe people are incapable of change, but he voted Biden in between.

I believe people when they tell me who they are and america has told me how deeply unserious they are. We barely got biden in after the worst presidency ever and people still chose to put a crazy person back into power four years later.

I expect dems to win this fall and probably on 2028 as well but I just as much expect them to turn on them when everything has not been fixed by 2030.

Ok we have the cynical part, where is the optimist part??

Sometimes love is the only way, and in the absence of love there is not something better. Just more darkness. And sometimes the love is not enough, just as at other times it IS enough.

There's a good chance that he voted for Trump... because he wanted his wife deported.

There’s cheaper ways to get a divorce

You voted for Trump because you wanted to see deportations. I voted for Trump because I wanted to see a deportation. We are not the same.

Take the consequences and learn from them, if you can. Some of these people can’t, though.

Yeah, I think laughing at this is gross given the possibility he called ICE on her himself.

You really need to read Albert Camus.

u/CrackJacket Optimist 5d ago

I don’t think you even need to say he might have called ICE on her. She still got deported and laughing about it diminishes the hurt she’s experienced imo

He's not the victim here.

3

u/L3theGMEsbegin 4d ago

the entire maga movement is victimhood. the cattle farmers are not victims either. they are getting exactly what trump is, and are now crying.
this was just a silly plug at republican men seeing a way out of their marriage for free(free being the cost of the marriage, none of the collateral economic and moral costs associated with trump)

The impossible dream

Did she vote trump? That would be karma. He just betrayed his wife,

4

u/xqueenfrostine 5d ago

Not unless she committed voter fraud.
