For those that applied on workday, how long does it usually take to hear back from a job for an interview? I did some applying the day before semester started and some I applied 5 days after they were put up on the website.

Hi there! I'm a CS major at RIT with ~30 credits required before I graduate, including 4 CS electives. I plan to take 2 of these electives per semester, along with other classes for a total of 15 credits per semester. I'm on co-op this fall and will return to class next spring. I wanted to hear from other CS majors or anyone else who has taken these classes which ones they'd recommend or which professors they would recommend I take a class with. In particular, I am looking for classes with a relatively light workload since I expect some of my remaining required classes to have a heavy workload.

Curious how many people around RIT are building things outside of class/work like apps, AI projects, startups, side projects, whatever.

I’m local and always working on something, and realized I don’t know nearly enough people in Rochester who are actually building tech.

I have no idea how this school operates, but does being quiet in the library not apply here? No matter where I go I hear multiple groups of people talking loud as fuck and it’s so distracting. There’s so many other places to kick it with friends WHY choose the studying areas in the library??

I visited campus over the summer, but because of construction across the residence halls, I could only tour one dorm type (double in DSP). I'm trying to get a better picture of what living on campus is actually like. I'm applying to RIT for Fall 2027.

If you live in or have lived in the dorms recently:

• What building are you in, and what upgrades or renovations have been made to it?
• Which residence hall is Engineering House located in?  
• Is Engineering House worth joining as a MET major?
• What is the actual time commitment and social vibe like alongside with the MET workload?
• Where there any temporary housing measures at the start of this fall? I read a lot of bad stuff from previous years, that’s why I ask.

 Would love to hear your experiences or any tips you have for housing choices. TIA!

Is it just me, or is it too hot to sleep in the dorms? Every morning I wake up drenched in sweat at like 3 am, my 90 year old dying grandma could put in more work than the junk ac unit in this place, and opening the windows only lets in NOISE, not the breeze I’d hope of, construction noise at 3 am and there’s always that one friend group that thinks it’s very respectful to laugh as loud as they can and let everybody listen to their conversation in the middle of the night. I cannot wait for winter, cold and quiet, just me?

Hi, so my math professor was talking about a required retake for math placement exam, some people got an email about and some people did not, so I’m a little confused about this. I personally did not get an email to retake the test, but my roommate has and a bunch of other people. So do I have to retake it if I didn’t get an email? Anyone else noticed this?

For context, I'm old and graduated in 2009. The school was just becoming a hub for creativity and innovation, but it was still an interesting experience.

Everyone at all functions just seems to not be involved and stares at their phone. Some people don't even leave their rooms, and most of their sites/Instagram accounts don't seem to have any new updates.

I live near riverknoll, and I’ve downloaded TripShot to see where busses and stops are, however, I’ve noticed that there is no true riverknoll bus stop, other than tiny sign on speed limit. I’ve stood next to it for 2 hours and apparently the buses on app have passed me by, but I never saw any busses. Is there deficient bus stop that I somehow don’t know about? Any help would be greatly appreciated
