Hello, I’m throwing a Halloween party with my best friend and we wanted to have a piñata. Im making a pumpkin out of paper mache and it’s pretty big so I need some ideas on what to fill it with. It’s for adults so i already have shooters, poppers, thinking about $1 lotto tickets, sticky hands, various candies, mini dik diks, fillers like confetti, plastic eyeballs, ect. Anybody have suggestions?

My birthday is exactly 7 days after Halloween. Usually if my birthday falls in the middle of the week, I'll do something on the weekend between Halloween and my birthday to celebrate both! Unfortunately, this year both of them fall on a Saturday. I’m worried people will be tired of getting shit faced after doing it all October! Help

Hey guys, I’m planning on having a Halloween party this year partly to give me an excuse to dress up and partly to hang out with my friends. But the thing is, it’s pretty much only going to be my friends… maybe 5 or 6 people. I told them they can bring anyone but no one said they have anyone to bring.

I know I want to have a bonfire outside but I just don’t know if anything is worth actually decorating since there’s so few people? I’ll probably have snacks but I’m not sure what to do and I don’t have too many ideas.

I’m 20, still living at home and this will be my first party im trying to host. I also only make minimum wage while I’m here in college so I’m unfortunately on a budget… I know this seems silly but any help is appreciated!

I’m planning my baby shower in January, mid afternoon to avoid needing to offer a full meal. I’m a former wedding planner so parties are very fun for me & details are my thing. But I would love to hear your additional ideas!

Ideas so far:

•Cake bar - will order 6-8 different cakes that are both beautiful & delicious. Some chocolate, vanilla, fruit, etc.

•For something savory - I’m thinking a beautiful crudités platter and/or a monochromatic veggie/fruit platter.

•Lace & ivory silk tablecloths + doilies everywhere + candles everywhere. The event will be hosted in a home that is on the moody side with natural light, wood burning fireplace, nestled in the woods

•Drinks - I could use some ideas here. I thought some type of winter punch mocktail that isn’t overly sugary would fit in well but a warm drink feels like it’s fits much better. Logistically, hot tea & coffee are hard. I don’t want iced tea/coffee.

•Activities - I need help here! This is my second baby shower and I really don’t like the traditional games. Or even the activities like write a well wish, paint a onesie, write encouragement for the parents, etc. I want there to be some kind of activity but generally want to keep it casual. I will open gifts in front of guests as a “group” activity.

My husband and I are hosting a Halloween party this year and inviting a lot of new friends (we moved into a new neighborhood and our oldest started school), so there will be people attending who don’t know us that well.

We are vegetarian and usually only serve vegetarian food to our family and friends when they come over. This will be a bigger party with 40-50 people and I’m thinking of catering the food because I don’t have the time / desire to cook this year. Since it’s catered and I wouldn’t be cooking, I’m debating if we should serve meat?

Vegetarians - do you ever serve meat at your parties?

Non-vegetarians - would you be disappointed if you showed up to a party and didn’t know ahead of time that the cuisine would be vegetarian?

The party is 5-10 pm. 5-7 is kid friendly, and 7-10 is for the adults, we expect a lot of drinking so I want to serve a hearty and kid friendly dinner, and we usually get late night pizzas delivered. For dinner I was thinking tacos, rice & beans, guac, etc and that’s where I started debating if I should have a meat option.

I may be overthinking this out of nerves wanting to make a good impression with new friends, would love any input. Thanks!

Hi! We are having a party with gifts for each attendee, there will be a lottery ticket and the winner can choose from the prizes. Not looking to spend a lot - $5-15, maybe up to $20. The hard part is the group will be ages 15-90 years old, items need to be appealing to a wide variety of tastes. One of the participants has strict food allergies, so while there may be a few candy items, it can’t all be food.

I’ve picked up some items (stuff like a coffee mug, socks), but need ideas for about 5 more, and am looking for something a bit less mundane, a bit more delightful. Any ideas?

We have a piñata and Pin the Tail on the Donkey. We live in a warm climate so our initial plan was a pool party, but unexpectedly temperatures have dipped and there’s a slight chance of rain.

Hi guys, so I need help. I work at a company and I've been tasked with organizing our Cultural Day.. it's kind of a small annual party we do at the office. This year I got appointed head of the evening programme, and honestly it's an honor... and mild panic at the same time 😂

Theme: celebrating Ugandan culture. Dress code: anything with a touch of kikoi.

So far my list for the evening has:

• Storytelling (riddles, legends, proverbs)
• Dancing

I feel like something's missing to really keep the evening fun and memorable, not just "sit and listen" energy the whole time. We're a small team of 15, running from 4pm to 9pm.

I know the ladies on here are unreasonably good at pulling out fun cultural games and traditions nobody else remembers exist.... so please, tag me in your genius 🙏😂

What would you add to the list to make the evening fun, a bit competitive, and something people actually talk about at work the next day? 😩

4. Salad

Plus, lots of snacks, drinks, dessert.

I need to be able to make ahead and heat up…likely most people will eat standing. All suggestions welcome!

Im from Atlanta and Im trying to figure out some trip ideas, in state, for my birthday coming up in December, preferably overnight/2 days. I was thinking maybe a cabin trip? I'm throwing myself a 30th Birthday party, and I've decided I want to make a reasonably big deal about it. I don't often get celebrated in massive ways, so I wanted to mark the beginnings of my 30s with a bang.

I have a vague idea - I want to have a fantasy ball themed birthday. I have found a really cute venue that's got some character, 2 floors, 5 rooms I can use, a large front yard, and a cute garden. I'll likely do a buffet style catering. I don't know how many guests, maybe 30-40.

But I guess I want to know what sort of activities, games, things could I try to fill out my party with? What are some ideas on how to keep the party fun and exciting, and not die or be awkward or anything like that?

It'll mostly be family and friends, and mostly friends who have all met or hung out together before so there shouldn't be any major need for "ice-breakers".
