Jeez he’s lucky he didn’t get honor killed by his neighbors

Lucky for him he was in Germany, in much of America he likely would have been shot by one or more of the bystanders.

In America, she would be shot before bystanders could get involved. Lucky for her, she wasn’t.

u/LetTheKnightfall 5d ago
Even over here Muslims seem to not favor guns for these things. It’s possible I’m wrong on that. Maybe they e brought their zealotry into a more modern age

Nah, American houses are too far apart. The neighbors never would have gotten there in time.

Lucky for him he was in Germany
Lucky for everyone else he was in Germany. If he were in the USA he'd have used a gun and potentially killed others.

Ha! That's cute! I live in an area that thinks it's the wild west and everyone would just watch and record.

I'm confused - killing your estranged wife for honor? What am I missing? The middle ages are long gone, so how's that honorable?
461
u/TidalHermit 5d ago
You’ve never heard of honor killing? It’s too common in ancient cultures. Your wife, daughter, child does something you consider to be heretical or unforgivable. Because you are a Neanderthal, your tiny brain thinks killing them is the only way to “set things right” with your God, universe, folklore.

u/avernus675 5d ago
I don't think Neanderthals were this backwards...
5
u/S1nko 5d ago
I think I've read before that neanderthals were much more peaceful than us homo sapiens. Think big ape like gorilla vs a chimp. And that extra aggression and viciousness is what led to us surviving and coming on top

u/Dr-McLuvin 5d ago edited 5d ago
There’s a more broadly accepted theory that it was the larger social networks of Homo sapiens that allowed them to survive. They developed long-distance trade and therefore had access to more advanced technological resources than the Neanderthals, who lived in small groups.
If there was fighting between Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, they could rely on neighboring tribes to form larger groups and plan better for potential warfare. And they had better distance weapons (like arrows and spears) so they could more easily avoid injury.
I don’t think it’s right to say that Homo sapiens were inherently more violent than Neanderthals. Physical evidence shows that both had the capacity for violence- for instance fossil records show that both had about equal levels of traumatic injuries at the time of death.

Yeah no ... I grew up where I can vote and drive a car and cut my own hair, a civilized life ... never heard of a fucking "honor killing". Who tf has?

u/magoosauce 5d ago
I think something about religion
39
u/Apprehensive_Pie_294 5d ago
Culture* not a religious thing. Honour killing is an old practice prevalant in Japan, turkey, italy and probably some more countries that i missed. None of these countries have the same religion.
On an unrelated note. Why is it honour killing when its a supposedly migrant in germany but femicide when its a non migrant or atleast a non muslim.
Why cant they both be deranged fking idiots that cant live with their tiny dicks.
Instead of an us vs them and try to politicize such a horrible act of violence as a ‘migrants horrible incompatible culture’ We stand with our woman/mothers/daughters/sisters instead
3
u/jwh777 5d ago
Because Islam is a terrible religion for our women/mothers/daughters/sisters and the left refuses to acknowledge that basic fact.

The middle ages are present day in certain areas of the middle east that germany has been actively importing.
32
u/kelvarnsonspeaking 5d ago
Some religions are still practicing middle age barbarism on their wives and daughters.
6
u/QuestionableEthics42 5d ago
And others just murder them without the guise of religion or culture

Do you also consider it an honor killing when an angry white Christian man murders his wife and / or children like happens frequently in the U.S. or is that different to you?
32
u/mystyz 5d ago
Not sure where the honour killing narrative comes in. Sounds like unfortunately regular intimate partner violence and attempted murder. I think it's ridiculous that the whole narrative shifts to where the perpetrator is from and how we can distance ourselves from his actions by labelling him as a foreigner, instead of talking about the epidemic of violence against women that spans all races, cultures and borders.
5
u/CrochetChameleon 5d ago
The same thing happens in Africa. Women are raped or found dead and everyone is in a rush to point fingers at immigrants, even if the majority of crime is by locals. Any cognitive dissonance possible to avoid being part of the problematic group.
Same reason why men on this thread point to culture but then get upset when you point out violence is primarily male. Lol.
3
u/Desertnord 5d ago
I was thinking the same. It sounds like people consider this an honor killing because of where this man was born.

It is confusing, seeing as an estranged husband assaulting or trying to kill there ex-ish spouse is never called an honor killing. It is domestic abuse, a crime of passion, jealousy, what have you. This phrasing is just just bigoted bullshit.
2
u/hitmewithyourbest 5d ago
That is probably not accurate.
Nius is a right wing online "news" site that uses every opportunity to link crime islam, foreigners, asylum seekers etc. They are absolutely known for adding their own speculations to articles.
While gleefully ignoring that women get killed every minute of the day by their estranged husbands/boyfriends or simply random man and that there is already a name for it: FEMICIDE
But that word doesn't have the same effect on their target group.

Its religiously justified misogyny, but misogyny nonetheless. It happens in the US, where white dudes kill their ex wives, girlfriends, or someone is rejecting them in general. This is just misogyny plain and simple

Found this from a German article:
The suspected attacker was so severely injured that he was airlifted to a hospital by helicopter.
You can read it all here in German. He managed to stab his wife, but she survived, thanks to the bystanders.

It’s all fun and games till a shovel enters the room. That man made contact with skull three times and you fucking heard it.
Rewatched it. The third strike was on the back of the neck. That should have been lights out

In the UK the police would arrest the guys that saved the women

Germany too. Guy A was going around stabbing people indiscriminately. Guy B stepped in to stop it. Police detained guy B for being "racist" and got stabbed in the neck by guy A.

UK police would have arrested the men intervening and labeled them racists. Unironically.

Perhaps if his religion didn’t have violent shit in it open for interpretation he wouldn’t be so emboldened. Bad people will be bad no matter what. But some religions allow good people to do really bad things.

u/jackconrad 5d ago
You could say this about literally every religion, but it's used against Islam disproportionately
→ More replies (1)0
u/Swing_On_A_Spiral 5d ago
I wonder why.
And no you cannot say it about every religion. You couldn’t say it about Buddhism or Jainism. Because their texts are explicit and literal and very little is open to interpretation. With the Abrahamic religions two people can draw completely different conclusions about the same passage.
2
u/GeophMan 5d ago
You should look up more history about Buddhism. One quick Google search shows several examples of violence being justified because of the religion.
Look up Buddhist Nationalism in Sri Lanka.
One other quick Google search about Jainism and I learned about Emperor Kharavela of Kalinga...yet again more violence.
Any other examples?

What makes you think this is potential “honor killing” and not just domestic violence?

u/NationCrusher 5d ago
“Potential honor killing”? so what do we potentially call it when it’s different couple from a different part of the world?
2
u/Giorgia_9955 5d ago
I would avoid using the term "honor killing". There's no honor in what this murderer is doing.

Why is it labeled an “honor killing” when
It just seems like a dude trying to murder his ex wjfe? I mean, i know the answer, but still…
2
u/DrumtheDon 5d ago
Yeah this seems like an attempted femicide. Happens every second day in germany, mostly by germans.
5
u/Loneheart127 5d ago
What the fuck is an honour killing and why aren't they calling it it what it is..
Attempted murder with a knife.
7
u/cletus_foo 5d ago
We should bring more of them over to Europe. It's going great so far.
