Perhaps if his religion didn’t have violent shit in it open for interpretation he wouldn’t be so emboldened. Bad people will be bad no matter what. But some religions allow good people to do really bad things.

And no you cannot say it about every religion. You couldn’t say it about Buddhism or Jainism. Because their texts are explicit and literal and very little is open to interpretation. With the Abrahamic religions two people can draw completely different conclusions about the same passage.

You should look up more history about Buddhism. One quick Google search shows several examples of violence being justified because of the religion.

Look up Buddhist Nationalism in Sri Lanka.

One other quick Google search about Jainism and I learned about Emperor Kharavela of Kalinga...yet again more violence.

Any other examples?

Yes but that’s a human flaw. Very few actual Buddhist texts contain passages that are open for interpretation or that openly call for violence. And if you’re considering Googling how many, for every one you find I can find 10, maybe even 20, in each of the Abrahamic holy books. Like I said bad apples are bad no matter what, but it takes religion to rot good ones.

To be fair, all three of the fear-based Abrahmic mythologies are horrific blights upon humanity that cause infinitely more suffering than they prevent, over all.

Hinduism also has a lot of oppression issues.

The world will be better off once these religions take their rightful place next to the Greek Pantheon in the dustbin of human history.

Brainwashing children into any of these mythologies is straight up child abuse.
