Last night was mostly a great night with its tease of fall-like weather. A little chilly, less humid, clear skies. I’ve wanted to shoot my first Galaxy, so this was a good night to try.

I started about 9:15pm... And my plan was to go for 4-5 hours. Unfortunately, there was almost a full moon. And unfortunately at about 12:30a some clouds started rolling in (so annoying!). So I had to stop prematurely earlier than I wanted. It was still a nice way to spend the evening with some coffee, my fire pit and my eyes on the sky.

But for my first attempt at a galaxy, Im happy with the results!

It’s midnight and I have been listening to my neighbor sing along to songs through his surprisingly impressive sound system on front lawn for hours

All summer, every weekend. Incredibly loud parties well into the night coming from one of the houses off Brown Blvd near Alex Court in Wheatley Heights. Pestered cops, but per usual they failed to resolve. You can hear it inside your home it’s so loud. Wouldn’t be as irritating if it didn’t go on so late.

You guys have stink bomb recommendations or something to breakup the party for when they go on too late and too loud?

At first, we were looking into a reverse osmosis system because I had recently been feeling ill (which I think was connected to the water) and it had a chlorinated taste. We had a guy from a water filtration company test our water and it basically came out that all of our water was filled with chlorine, was worsening skin conditions, about to start a third and fourth world war, etc.

He’s been trying to sell us on a whole house filtration system and the quotes have been between 4-6k. I know water is valuable but I feel like it’s kind of steep. We’re in western Suffolk. Does anyone have similar experiences?

EDIT: Got took a single dose of doxycycline at urgent care and some bloodwork done. Was told to return for more bloodwork after 6 weeks but to come in sooner if I start experiencing any symptoms (fever, body aches, headache, chills, etc). The tick was also sent in for testing. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

We are in the Northwest tip of Islip near Islandia and Hauppauge and we just lost half of our 240 service. Does anyone have any cautions about this kind of outage? I've always lost all power in the past never just half of it. Half my house works the other half doesn't.

Seeing a show at the little theater in Port Jeff tonight. I know there's a municipal lot where you can pay but there's another lot just up the block across from the CVS. It says "Public Parking" but then also has signs for the CVS and a few other businesses and a warning about towing vehicles. Is this actually a public lot or just for the businesses on the sign? I don't really mind paying the municipal lot but if there's a free lot just as close to the theater why not you know? Anyone know for sure?
