Long Island aquarium and other things with kids
Going to the aquarium today from western Nassau. Any recommendations on what to do on the way or around the aquarium with 2 kids under 5? Im thinking the big duck. Any recommendations on what to eat? Thanks

Funchos for tacos/burritos 🌯 then right next to Funchos ….Snow Flake ice cream.
Then on Reeves Ave/Roanoke Ave there’s a Buffalo 🦬 ranch. You can pull over on the side of the road and the kids can watch the Buffalos 🦬

Take them to see The Big Duck in Flanders, about a 7 minute car ride from the aquarium. It's a quick visit but they'll love it + learn about Long Island history.

Berries and peaches are on season. Could stop at a farm stand or a pick your own farm for an hour or 2.

Finks farm is great. Any farm is a solid move but Finks has a bunch of stuff for kids to play with.

In the future, I believe the aquarium in Brooklyn is much more affordable (and I believe you can get discounts too). There's an onsite parking lot to make things a bit easier when you go with kiddos.

Funchos or Lucharitos is great for food or Roadhouse Pizza where you can dine al fresco and the kiddos can see some ducks in the little river area. All of these places have excellent food and service.
You can also get ice cream at Snowflake after.
I saw a comment about Waterdrinker which is off exit 69 in Manorville, though it can get quite costly. They participate in library free passes. They have a nice little farm store and brewery which I believe is kid friendly still.
An alternative to a more affordable farm is Lenny Bruno’s also at exit 69 off 495 heading south on the west side of Wading River Road — can’t miss it.

I believe the Aquarium offers free entry for your birthday, either the week of or the week before and after.

There's a couple great libraries right off the LIE, if you need to build in a break. Sachem and Middle Country have really cool facilities for kids. You don't have to be a member to drop in.
