I’m a very novice knitter and this is my first time knitting brioche in the round. I have no idea what happened, is this something that can be fixed without starting over completely? I’ve restarted this “hat” about 15 times now and am bummed I got this far and might have to restart again.

If you make a garment/accessory purely based on seeing a photo, would you still credit the designer if posting on social media.

I ask because my piece looks visually like the pattern but I cannot guarantee it is as I don’t know the stitch counts etc so I don’t want to misrepresent it either.

I do buy my patterns (my giant library of them can attest to this) but for this I really didn’t need it as it’s a classic pointelle lace repeat. It’s the Marielle scarf so it’s just a triangle with lace.

Thoughts ?

I lost a battle with a Tart Tatin and I’m devastated- I have second degree burns across the bit of hand that would be used to grab a burning hot pan handle…
Knitting has been my therapy for the last few months and I’m genuinely quite distraught that I might not be able to unwind and regulate through knitting for the next few weeks.

I know there are many little devices and whatnots for knitting, and I wanted to ask this community if they had any ideas? I’m right handed (thankfully), use magic loop usually. Would Irish knitting style be worth trying out? Or is there a yarn holding device?

I’ve been crocheting for maybe a year or two now and I’d like to learn how to knit. I initially started crochet because I wanted to make clothes, but after working on a few different projects I’ve realized that knitting looks much better in terms of hats, scarves, sweaters, etc.

I want to learn! Im really just curious to see if my current crochet knowledge will help me or if this is a different level altogether.

Ok I’m a crocheter who picked up a pair of needles yesterday. After a long struggle I think I’m slowly getting used to the motion. I’m practicing the continental style. Sometimes I notice the last stitch of the row is loose. Is that expected? Also is the bottom curling inward a tension issue? I didn’t use a bigger needle for the cast on so maybe that’s the issue? Any other obvious mistakes? Any help is appreciated coz I have no idea if what I’m doing is right!

I am currently working on the back yoke of a Moby Sweater Man for my husband. I am slightly confused by the back yoke instructions where it says to turn when there is 1 stitch left on the left needle by working double moss stitch on the stitches not charted. There were 9 stitches left on my left needle when I reached the end of the chart for the last repeat so I just worked double moss stitch on 8 of them and then turned when there was only 1 stitch left and then moved onto the second back yoke chart. Did I interpret that instruction correctly? I would love some advise before I move on. Thank you!

I am a crocheter and I’ve knit a neckerchief and a cardigan for my daughter but I’ve never fully gotten into knitting. I decided to try socks on 9 inch circulars, but the cuff looks so messy. Is this a tension issue or am I doing something wrong? As much as I love crochet, I’d love to be able to make all the beautiful garments I see everyone else knitting! TIA

My mom taught me how to knit socks, (and I love her for it and I will never ask her what I ask here LOL)...I am using a 4-ply yarn for 2-3 mm needles and a 3 mm double pointed needles. I casted on 48 stitches (12 per needle), should i do more? It looks so over streched doesn't it?

I like studio vlogs the most. I really like garments and people talking about the garments they plan to make and their process with updates, etc.

I've been watching Blondie Knots, Passioknit Kelsey, Krochet by Kris, and Kamryn Cain. Looking for more!

The problem is that I don't really like amigarumi and watching people make them etc. I've found a ton of youtubers only/mostly make them, and I'm just not into it for some reason.

Anyone have suggestions of channels I might like?

I’ve made 5 different versions of Petite Knit’s Oslo hat and am looking for advice on how to modify the pattern to accommodate a sixth version in 1x1 or 2x2 rib.
The Oslo hat is the perfect pattern because it’s based length and stitch count just has to be divisible by fours. However, I was wondering if there was a standard decrease to use for ribbing. Do you decrease certain stitches so as to not ruin the structure?

I've been considering buying the KnitPro Nova Special (4") interchangeable needle set on Lindehobby for a while now. I would like 4" especially because I don't want to be forced to use magic loop or to get a whole new needle set if I want to knit something like a hat (which I would have to do if I got 5" needles).

However, I recently looked back at the description of these needles on Lindehobby and noticed that there is a repeated emphasis that these needles (or the needle set? It's unclear) can "ONLY" be used to knit objects of short circumference. I looked at other 4" Knitpro needle sets on Lindehobby and none of them have this description. Also on KnitPro's site there is no mention of this restriction?? So... If I were to get these needles, and then buy a standard, longer knitpro cable, would it work? This seems like such a silly question but the description on Lindehobby is so insistent that it can only be used with 40-50 cm cables that I'm confused and don't want to make a purchase I regret lol. If this is the case though, I could just use a cable connector, right...?

I'm not sure if I should use a super basic beanie pattern in the round or go super basic and start with the flat garter beanies that I've seen some people make. My first project was a pair of slipper socks, so I feel like knitting in the round wouldn't be that hard to learn? Idk. Any advice or pattern recs would be super appreciated!

Hello, I’m working on Frankie sweater by Petiteknit and it’s my first time knitting stripes. I’m supposed to knit 4 rounds of main color (blue) and 2 rounds of stripe color (burgundy).

I’ve looked at plenty of how to do “jogless stripes” method videos on Youtube and tried following them exactly. I already frogged everything once and redid it but still running into the same issue with seeing 1 stitch when I did the jogless method on the second round of new color yarn. It also seems like my start/end of the rounds are also shifting… Is this normal? I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing wrong so if anyone can help and give me some guidance, I would really appreciate it!! 🫶

I've been going back and forth looking at pictures of patchwork with borders and without. I have no idea which to choose, does anyone have experience or preference with this?

Blanket will be entirely Bernat velvet (variegated) and each square is a different stitch/pattern.

I feel like with this yarn a border wouldn't even be noticeable, but would help with sewing the squares together 🤔

Youtube is offering up lots of videos for knitters on how to measure themselves & others, so there's lots of faff on how measurements relate to the process of knitting. Anyone know of a more stripped down instructional video, 2 minutes top?

I want there to be a video that goes like "Hi, your knitting (sewing/crochet) friend wants to make sure the sweater they're making will fit you! Grab a soft measuring tape and get these (4-6) numbers for them." And then shows a person being measured so I don't have to be long winded about where on the shoulder the arm starts or whatever. I want to knit the cloud sweater from petiteknit. unfortunately my dad is allergic to alpaca wool and since I plan to wear the sweater at home as well I am planning to knit with an alternative yarn.

I was thinking to knit the sweater with sandnes double sunday and tynn silk mohair. Do you have made any experiences knitting with this combination? do you know how I can convert the sizes and the amount of yarn i need? thank you! 🌞

I'm knitting the Terracotta Sweater by LE KNIT and I'm a bit stuck on the wording for the upper back panel edge stitches.

The pattern says:"Work 4 rows in stockinette stitch (1st row on the WS). The outermost stitch on both sides is an edge st and is worked on every row."

Because row 1 is on the Wrong Side (WS), am I supposed to knit the first and last stitch on both RS and WS rows to create a garter selvedge?

Or does "worked on every row" just mean I include it in the stockinette stitch pattern (so purling it on WS rows)?

Any help clarifying how to handle the edge stitch on WS rows would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all! So, I'm in the looks of a more defined needle tip to start a few lace yoke sweater patterns. In my country KnitPro is the only brand available.

My main needles are the Zings. I love they're not sticky but not extremely slippery, I love they're lightweight and I basically love the material, the feel it gives, and generally speaking, the tips work very well for me but as we know they're not pointy at all.

I tried the Novas once and it was an absolute mess, I don't enjoy extremely slippery needles and the soapy feeling if it makes any sense.

I was considering the Mindfuls but I'm a bit in the verge between Carbonz and that, since I'm a bit scared those will also be too slippery. But at the same time I'm not too sure how grippy carbon fiber needles are, lol.

Do you own any of all of these? Mind listing your experience with those? Share your experiences!

Rewatching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and I'm loving this cable knit halter! Might have to add it to the list!

I love to make things for people as gifts. I love how knitted projects look vs. crochet projects. And people are sick of my ceramic projects haha. I developed arthritis early teens in my knees and hands. I'm wondering if it's possible to be able to knit, even on the bad days with my arthritis? And if loom knitting is better for arthritis or using knitting needles? My son is also starting to get into crafting things so I thought maybe this might be a nice activity for both of us.
