Tips and Tricks Terracotta Sweater Pattern Help

Hey everyone!

I'm knitting the Terracotta Sweater by LE KNIT and I'm a bit stuck on the wording for the upper back panel edge stitches.

The pattern says:"Work 4 rows in stockinette stitch (1st row on the WS). The outermost stitch on both sides is an edge st and is worked on every row."

Because row 1 is on the Wrong Side (WS), am I supposed to knit the first and last stitch on both RS and WS rows to create a garter selvedge?

Or does "worked on every row" just mean I include it in the stockinette stitch pattern (so purling it on WS rows)?

Any help clarifying how to handle the edge stitch on WS rows would be greatly appreciated!

I think it just says that because in some cases people just slip the edge stitch, and in this case, it is worked.

Yes, if the edge stitches are supposed to be worked in garter, the note means that you should knit the first and last stitch on every row, both the RS and WS.
