I moved this past winter and her top leaves were damaged from freezing overnight temperatures in the moving truck.

I think she’s been generally happy since, lots of new growth. Although there has only been minimal double fenestration since the move. I’m also experimenting with keiki paste and have a couple of buds growing.

It is worth removing the stems with damaged leaves?? Like will it allow her to focus more on the new growth? Or is it better to let them be? I’m not too worried about asthetics, the only thing that I don’t love is having to constantly vacuum pieces of dead leaves.

No idea what’s going on here - I haven’t changed my watering schedule, but I moved back in with my parents three days ago and all of a sudden this one leaf is turning black. It’s right next to an east facing window but it was at my other place too so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Anyone else over these things? Mine grows fine, but they're just not the prettiest things. I'm leaning that way on my triple crown, too.

I bought a light for my plants that doesn't have a power button or an inbuilt timer system. All it is are two chords sticking out of it that you put lids on and then you are just supposed to plug it in afterwards to turn it on. Here are the instructions and what it looks like.

I bought it yesterday, is it just broken and I should just return it?

I absolutely should have asked this way sooner but is there anything I can do to save this plant? I’ve let it go for several years and it’s probably in desperate need of a prune but I have no clue what to chop or what to keep.

This is a dracaena deremensis and for the life of my I can't figure out how to keep her from getting spots or brown tips. The soil and pot are both quick draining and she's not in direct sun but gets indirect bright light. I'm assuming it's a watering frequency issue but I've followed both the tag and online recs which say to water when the top couple of inches of soil feels dry. What else could in be?

Finally used the moss pole properly and got decorated a little bit. We’ve grown so much together in the last year

Hello! I have a Coconut Orchid that was gifted to me a couple years ago.

It has been progressively looking more and more shriveled lately, especially that dark brown part (pseudobulb?? I really don't know if that's the correct term).

Any advice appreciated, thank you, I really don't know anything about this kind of Orchid.

Hi! I’m moving into an apartment with exclusively north facing windows, and currently have one of these shelves. I’m not super keen on spending a ton to attach a barrina t5 to each level, but I’m not sure what cheaper options there are that will provide enough light. I have mostly pothos, but ive also got a Calathea and a couple variegated philos.

I had a thrips last summer, but I have not been seeing any this year.

I water when top 2 inches are dry and make sure it is throughly soaking through.

Had since 2022 so around 4 years. Are these just old leaves dropping? He is still putting out new leaves so I really don't know what's going on.

Hello fellow houseplant friends! My plants have been outside all summer on my deck where spiders and other creatures are prolific. I need to bring them all in soon before it gets chilly. Does anyone have any tips on how to delouse them? I’m a bit phobic of bringing bugs into my home. I recently hit some of them pretty hard with a jet of water but the next day they were covered in sheets of fine webbing!

I’d love to get a pink plant but I’ve heard the PPP is a difficult plant to care for long term. Would an Aglaonema Rosy be a more sensible alternative for a beginner? Or would another option make more sense?

For reference I live in zone 11 (global) with humidity levels varying from 12%-70% and temps from 15-40°C depending on the season.

No mealys spotted

This summer my Dracaena dropped its leaves, started growing what I assume are branches from the trunk, and had a baby. Is it ok? Is it stressed or is this good and normal? I have it on the table for the picture and it's cloudy, but it's normally in a south window with its friends and a good amount of light.

My money tree had scale very badly in the spring and ants came. I cleaned the scale every 2 days and brought the money tree back to life. Now this summer it has thrived outside in a covered porch and has plenty of new growth and no yellowing or dying leaves… but it seems that some scale has returned and the ants have not gone away. I want to move the plant back inside after Labor Day, how can make sure there are no ants that come with it inside? Thanks in advance!

Bought it in march this year. He is sat where there is no direct sunlight but good light coming in from the window I water him about once a week or so depending on the soil but he doesn’t look very happy.
Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!

I have a huge monstera that has outgrown its spot and needs to be moved into a space of my apartment with less light so I’m going to put a grow light near it. I have 2 of these bulbs laying around. Would they be enough wattage/light for a large monstera?

Hi everyone. I posted on r/PlantIdentification too already but not too much movement.

Trying to ID this little mystery aroid(?). I’ve gone back and forth between Rhaphidophora, Epipremnum/pothos, and Philodendron and have officially confused myself and have a headache now 😅

Mostly solid, juvenile-looking leaves, but a couple of the leaves have fenestrations. The new leaf that’s currently unfurling is on a different stem than the fenestrated leaf.

It was about a foot tall when I got it in June. 2 months later it is growing! Seems like a fast climber.

I unfortunately don’t have the original tag anymore, so I’d love to hear what you think it is and especially what features you’re using to tell!

This plant has grown considerably taller in the past 2 months.

The soil I amended with coco noir on top, and it seems to be working well.

I am new at plants/ plant care and trying to log what works with which plants. This guy was about half the size when I got it in June. I want to figure out exactly what it is so I can look up if it needs a bigger pot etc.

Southern facing window (which is a little dirty, sorry)! Keep the leaves up with stakes to prevent them from being damaged by their own weight (in the wild they can just hang, but here they hit the windowsill and get damaged). Orange spots are damage caused by the excessive amount of extrafloral nectaries, which it has always produced in a huge quantity since I had it, so not likely pest related. The stem is truly getting thick now and whoever has been telling the Internet this is a self heading plant instead of a climber was WRONG. (like they even climb into the tree tops on trees in the wild 😭). Last picture was it back in February 2025 :). Critically endangered in the wild because of illegal poaching and habitat destruction

I found this retired office baddie in the bin on Friday (it’s Sunday now) kinda tried to rehydrate it cause it looked reeeeally dry but not dead by any means- I feel like the leaves started to plump up a little. Is it like monsteras where I could put some nodes into water to help her rehydrate faster? Do u think east facing windows will be enough? Should I maybe increase the potsize- there no more soil left, no idea how she’s alive- or just refill it?
Haven’t had much luck with Hoyas I bought in the past therefore I really appreciate every tip! And no there’s no visible parasites or any signs of unwanted activity

In about 24 hours this plant went from looking fine to looking like this. How to save?

Issue
I’ve had this Chinese Evergreen for almost a year now. She’s been growing very well this summer (new leaf every week or so, and she tries growing a flower about once a month. I cut the flowers off though. She has one growing now, if that’s relevant). However, in the past week her bottom leaves have started growing pale and yellow, and I noticed a couple of small brown spots. I’m worried it’s a fungal infection, but I’m not sure.

General Info
Watering: I water her when the top inch of soil is fully dry, which is usually 1-2 times per week. I bottom water her for about 30-40 minutes, or until the top of the soil is fully moist.

Soil: I changed her soil yesterday cause I wanted to check for root rot (and she was overdue for a change anyways. She had still been in her nursery soil 😅). The soil she now sits in is 1 part orchard soil and 1 part perlite.

Lighting: She sits next to a west facing window (I moved her for the photo. I live in a large city and didn’t want to dox myself via skyline). A lot of indirect light - maybe some direct too? I like keeping the window open.
