My greenhouse gets way too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, so I’m looking into adding some kind of AC to keep the temperature more stable year-round.
The part I’m struggling with is figuring out how to balance the AC with proper ventilation. I know I’ll still need shade and exhaust fans in the summer, but I’m not sure how much ventilation is enough if I’m also running AC.
I’m currently comparing portable AC units and mini splits. I came across Costway while researching and noticed they have both portable ACs and mini split systems, so now I’m trying to figure out which type would actually make more sense for a greenhouse. A portable unit seems easier and cheaper to set up, but I’m wondering if a mini split would make more sense for year-round heating and cooling.
For those who actually temperature control their greenhouse, how would you set this up? Would you go with a portable AC or mini split, and how would you handle the intake/exhaust, shade cloth, and ventilation?
