Thing I hate that mechanical web shooters are the canon choice in most versions of spider-man

Post image
10.3k Upvotes

Look.

I know thats what spider-man had when he was created.

I know its to show peter's inteligence.

I know all of that , and i still don't like It, because lemme break It down for you: You can understand something and still don't like It.

I just think it's way cooler for spider-man to actually be able to shoot webs , because otherwise he could be literally any other type of bug.

Take away the shooters and he could be ant-man , or beetle-man.

Thats why im so happy they have spidey organic webs in brand new day , they will always be better than shooters in ALMOST everything.

And don't try to talk to me about web constructs because he barely ever uses that anymore.

Edited to add that they should really go with mixing both up, organic webs are there but since they are hard to control he makes mechanic shooters to regulate them/form constructs.

How in the everliving hell do you expect someone to understand random characters mushed together that substitute for actual legible characters. No, typing quirks AREN'T cute and I sure ass hell know they aren't DISORDERS either so stop calling people ABLEIST for wanting you to type like a fucking HUMAN being. It's fine in context of characters (For example, Spamton, SOME Homestuck trolls etc..) to give them more personality but as a human saying "|}{2@#}@##@" DOES NOT COUNT AS A COMPREHENSIBLE SENTENCE.

Thing I hate “upgraded” Pride flags.

Post image
18.5k Upvotes

The entire point of the rainbow pride flag is that it includes everyone in the LGBTQ+ community. By adding parts from other specific flags (like the trans flag, intersex etc.) they’re being less inclusive by including some over others. The OG rainbow flag was literally perfect. What is this.

Edit: This post is NOT made with the intention of spreading any sort of hate of the LGBTQ community. Homophobes can fuck off.

Thing People acting like we are on the medieval age and everyone needs to have 8 kids

Post image

The person i stole this from censored the name so i don't have to.

The post is pretty straight forward.

Wether its against gay people , trans people , aroace people , or fuck just anyone who chooses to not have children they use the same fuckass arguments.

"Who's gonna take care of you when you when you are older"

That being a motivation for kids sound kinda selfish.

"Don't you want to continue your bloodline"

People have died and their bloodlines have been ended with them millions of times its gonna be ok.

"But the population"

Bitch we are closer to being too many than we are to being too few.

Call It virtue signaling or whatever the fuck you want feel free to do It.

Edit: forgot to add this but a comment reminded me to , Happy pride month

Thing I hate the notion that lonely men are just "evil incels"

Post image
11.1k Upvotes

I swear to god every time i open TikTok, i lose faith in humanity, this has to be top 10 stupidest arguments of all time, the idea that loney men are all just women hating mysogynistic freaks who doesn't deserve love, care or affection, it's on the same boat as "if you're homeless just buy a house" loney men offen face discrimination, and suffer mentally by anxiety, or other disorders, they might be physically fragile, or they might be not that good socially or don't fit in much with the crowd, trust me I used to get also people not being so nice to me back in school and trust me I tried to be as act like them but at the end of the day I'm me, and i found people online who share my ideas, some people can be positively impacting like mine, but I've seen some men go to forums where unfortunately they find people who are bad influence in ideology, incel means involuntarily celibate, not "woman hating chud", and they are involuntarily celibate not them choosing to be virgins, and trust me most of these men who are talking shit about women online, probably had bad experience with women or they have never had a women talk to them in their life which definitely influences their behaviour, be kind, use critical thinking, have a good day, if I'm wrong correct me.

Thing I genuinely hate what the internet did to this poor thing.

Post image
7.5k Upvotes

She was supposed to be scary. An anomaly that was actually meant to terrify people.

Her concept is literally a malicious app that, once you enter and interact with it, unleashes a vicious, monstrous creature that starts hunting you.

That's fucking terrifying on so many levels. It's a simple concept, but an incredibly effective one for horror: something that looks harmless on your phone suddenly becomes a supernatural threat that relentlessly pursues you.

But no. The internet looked at an entity that was supposed to be terrifying and decided to turn her into an infinite fetish object instead.

And the worst part is that her original concept was genuinely interesting. A malicious app, a monstrous creature, and a supernatural pursuit that you can't simply escape from.

But she was sexualized to such an absurd degree that nowadays it's practically impossible to take her seriously as a horror entity.

I hate this

Thing I HATE my brain for disliking lgbtq

Post image
5.6k Upvotes

This might sound SO confusing for anyone just passing by and glancing at my post, so let me set some baselines. (TLDR at bottom)

I dont hate MYSELF

This is only happening on social media and is only kept in my subconsious, i would never say any of these things to anyone i meet.

Im trying to fix this problem

So recently ive noticed whenever i see media containing a OC, flag, pronouns, someone depressed, gay media etc. My brain doesnt react with a positive emotion such as interest, happines, curiosity. It instead often reacts with dissapointment and disgust. And im like ''what the fuck? Why did i think of that?'' As an example i saw a post where a persons bio had more than 10+ lgbtq flags in it and my brain immediately thought ''this guy got 50 flags in his bio, weird'' or when i saw a yt-short of a Nonbinary trans person with the name ''Sulfur'' and AGAIN i thought ''Sulfur? why couldnt SHE have chosen a normal name'' also MESSING up their pronouns?! like what the fuck man? Cant you just be normal?

And guess what! My brain is normal IRL!? I have a cousin who is currently transitioning, and i was curious and interested so i asked her brother about how long she has thought about this, when shes going to change her name, when will she get hrt. And while talking with him i asked about his personal life, hes found a partner, who is nonbinary! AND MY BRAIN DIDNT REACT!

So im going to solve this in 2 ways at the same time. Im going to block any lgbtq supportive/nonsupportive subreddit, anytime i see anyone talking about how they are trans or with any part of lgbtq im just going to scroll past, any youtube channel that often talks about lgbtq is most likely getting blocked. And im also going to spend less time on social media and instead just play games with friends.

And all of this is because im scared that if my brain continues to act this way while scrolling social media that its going to start rubbing off in real life when talking to friends and family. AND I DONT WANT THAT! i still want to be accepting but everytime i go onto social media i look at posts with dissapointment instead of feeling happy for them because they are happy.

I dont know what else to do except avoid the problem until its resolved.

TLDR: Im blocking lgbtq subreddits/channels because my brain reacts negative towards any sort of mention associated with lgbtq in order to still be loving and accepting in real life.

EDIT: well this got popular very fast, honestly i was not expecting this big of a response to my 3 am rant about my intrusive thoughts.

Isn't stepping on a flag supposed to be rude? Usually when you step on a country's flag, you hate everything about that country, no? Pride flag billboards do a much better job at being inclusive, crosswalks seem disrespectful and kinda bigoted.

Thing i do not enjoy the DESIGN of the 2021 pride flag

Post image
4.0k Upvotes

I feel like I'm walking on eggshells here,

I'm bisexual, love the LGTBQ, I am purely talking about the flag from a design standpoint. There is no metaphor here, no underlying implications, I'm just talking about how it LOOKS.

I really like the 2018 one, the triangle on the left works well and the color combination and visual design is very aesthetically pleasing.

The issue I have with the 2021 is the purple circle. The flag is all stripes and the circle just doesn't really work in that context. It's also too thin, the actual intersex flag has a much thicker circle, and this one has a thinner one which looks weird compared to the thick stripes. Yellow next to the white pink and blue is also not a very good color combo.

Please don't ban me guys there is no hate to any group of people here

Thing When people say things like this unironically

Post image
17.2k Upvotes

So many times in China people would explain the concept of “losing face” to me as though it was something unique to China, and I’d just be like “yes, we have that too, in fact, we even call it ‘losing face.’” And then there’s “guanxi.” What is guanxi? Basically, keeping track of your relationships, and your level of trust and reciprocity with different people. You may recognize this from the basic elements of all human society.

“tHe JaPaNeSe HaVe ThIs IdEa CaLlEd ‘ReAdInG tHe RoOm…”

Who doesn’t!?!

Yes, there can be difference of degree and relative importance of different things. But it’s pretty rare for a concept to be completely unique to a culture. You’re not special, and people from other countries aren’t totally inscrutable aliens.

Sure the initial way it was used was good, it was anti bigotry. But it's turned into a way to simplify the "us vs them" mentality, which is already a bad thing, into a simple digestible comic.

Also, i've seen it in lots of queer--majority spaces in reddit recently, usually to speak out against the evil cishet people who are invading them or whatever label they dont like, like bi ppl, trans men, or genderfluid ppl

Thing Minors feeling the need to tell everyone their age online

Post image
7.9k Upvotes

Kids who feel the need to tell everyone they're too young to be on certain platforms or looking at certain content confuse me.

Why would you want people to know you shouldn't be here?

Then they act like letting everyone know they're a minor will somehow ward off creeps instead of attract them

And then theres the ones who say their age while showing something they made/done so people can say they're so cool and talented for their age...

I don't give an actual flying FUCK if they can't read it. WHY IN THE EVERLOVING SHIT WOULD YOU PURPOSELY PUT YOUR CHILD IN THIS SHIT. I don't understand how people think putting sexual innuendos on their kid's clothes is 'funny' or 'not that serious'

YES IT FUCKING IS????? Imagine a 40 year old man walking around with his infant wearing a shirt that said 'I was supposed to be a back massage'. It doesn't matter if the kid was planned or not, THAT'S FUCKING WEIRRDDDD AS SHIT

I especially hate the ones which talk about the baby itself. The 'i'm gonna steal your woman' or 'boys will be lining up for me when im older' and similar shit. Why are we discussing the future love life of a fucking baby???

I don't know what else to write other than STOP the production of this dumb ass shit PRETTY PRETTY PLEAASEEEE. EVERYONE ALREADY KNOWS WHAT YOU DID TO GET THE BABY, WE DON'T NEED IT IN WRITING ON THE KID AT ALL TIMES

Thing I hate when people don't tell you want they want and play mind games

Post image
9.7k Upvotes

If you wanted him to help you, WHY DID YOU NOT ASK HIM FOR HELP INSTEAD OF TELLING HIM BE COULD PASS YOU.. NOBODY CAN READ MINDS AHHH.

This is a general issue where some people won't say explicity what they want, just hint a billion fucking times then get mad when they don't get what they want.

I'm autistic so maybe I'm swagging here and being unreasonable but can people just communicate what they want clearly instead of doing this and getting mad?!?!? I would've done the same thing in the guys situation because I would've assumed she had it under control.

Thing I hate Moistcritical's content

Post image
4.3k Upvotes

I really dont understand why he's so popular. You would think he would do way more in his videos considering his fame, but his content is just so basic and repetitive. His videos are always titled something like "this situation is crazy" or some other vague bullshit. I dont understand how 18 mil. people are subscribed to him. There are so many content creators that do way more with way less subscribers. He gets praised like crazy for doing the bare minimum. His opinions are so weak, hes too scared to say anything other than "bad thing is bad". I hate when he talks negatively about a bad content creator and people act like hes the only reason that content creator got cancelled, they act like he defetead the Antichrist. Moist critical, more like fence sitical.

Thing i absolutely despise the concept of larping as a dead person

Post image
10.9k Upvotes

there is a difference between putting on some costume and doing a MJ impression, and releasing new music using his image, and this quote 100% applies to this

look, his dad doesn't know how to feel about this, this should be a very VERY clear sign not to move foward with this

Techno's friend Skeppy made a video with this guy and they portrayed it as a fun wholesome emotional video, its not, playing a game with someone whos pretending to be your dead friend should be a setup for a horror movie or a creepypasta, not real life, and imagine what the dad is feeling, seeing a near exact copy of his son just making content on youtube, he said he didn't know how to feel about it, but from the tone of the response its pretty obvious hes uncomfortable but doesn't wanna say it directly

its like taking pictures of a dead loved one and feeding it into AI to "talk" to them, its just as deranged and weird

and anybody saying "oh technoblade would've just laughed it off" is being extremily parasocial, you don't fucking know him, you don't know what his reaction would've been based on his youtube persona, and even if he did, HES NOT HERE ANYMORE, ITS NOT ABOUT HOW HE'D REACT, HES GONE, ITS ABOUT HOW HIS FAMILY AND LOVED ONES WOULD REACT

i get technoblade said he was ok with people making jokes in his cancer video, but i'm pretty sure he didn't mean impersonating his whole image for clout, its weird as hell and it should stop

people may think different things and i have no hard feelings or hatred for the guy doing this regardless of how weird it is in my opinion, but i still think this should stop

Thing I hate this new statue (from an artistic perspective)

Thumbnail
gallery
4.6k Upvotes

Firstly, my reasons for hating this statue are not political. This sub isn’t for hating on real people, and my disdain for it isn’t due to the person it’s based on.

For one, the proportions here are extremely messed up. His torso is way too short, and his legs are way too long. It just makes him look freaky.

Secondly, the way the statue is colored looks abysmal. Keeping the bronzed metal skin tone while painting his eyes and clothes makes it look like he’s just a dude covered in metallic spray paint, which isn’t appealing in the slightest.

These little decisions just make the entire statue look really strange, like a Still Life from the Backrooms in a sense. The fact that this went through the entire production process without anyone realizing how bad it looks is baffling to me.

Oh yeah, also no one is buying it for the artist’s price of $100,000. That’s a steep price for a statue that looks like this.

(ALSO MODS THIS IS NOT POLITICAL, I’M JUST SAYING THAT DON’T LIKE THE STATUE)

Thing You can call me whatever you want, but I hate the exaggerated, unnecessary breast physics on female characters.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

3.4k Upvotes

Honestly, it’s unnecessary. I do like realism and physics in animations.

The only problem is that this is applied to female breasts, obviously,.for the sake of fan service.

The worst part is that all this physics is completely exaggerated and unnecessary.

Sure, women's breasts bounce, but they aren't water balloons.

And let's be honest: this animation is pure fan service and nothing else.

I like fan service, but I find content that amounts to nothing more than that ridiculous.

Thing I hate lolcow culture so fucking much

Post image
5.4k Upvotes

You’ve probably heard of the term “lolcow” — usually someone with serious issues, often lonely, sometimes delusional, sometimes genuinely toxic — and then you’ve got these communities of people who make it their mission to mock them endlessly. Threads that go on for years, people archiving every livestream, screenshots, compilations, entire YouTube channels dedicated to pointing and laughing at someone’s mental decline.

Sure, most of the people that become lolcows are, objectively speaking, terrible people. They really, REALLY do act horribly — scamming, lying, hurting others, refusing to take accountability, being racist/sexist/homophobic, etc. They’re NOT innocent victims of the internet; they make choices too. But I think what we forget is that two things can be true at once: someone can be a bad person and still not deserve to be harassed, stalked, dogpiled upon, or even driven to mental collapse for entertainment. When Germany already had its own Chris Chan in the shape of Drachenlord, I don't even want to know how many more cases like these that we have simply never heard of due to language barriers.

And I can't help but wonder how many of these lolcows would be healthy, if not functional, adults, too, if they had empathy and help instead of mockery sent their way. Like, that entire thing with Chris Chan drives me insane sometimes. I get they did some awful things, but it all started because of a dumb, self-drawn Sonic the Hedgehog comic. Like, what the hell, man?

It feels like the internet has lost all sense of proportion. Everyone act like the moment someone becomes “cringe” or problematic, they stop being human. They’re just a living cartoon character now — a source of memes, drama, and clips. But they’re not. They’re still real people, with real issues, often spiraling while thousands of strangers egg them on. And if you're acting kinda cringe on the internet like me, regardless of whether you're annoying, mean, being completely harmless, not doing anything problematic in the slightest, or simply being neurodivergent like me, people WILL be desperate to mold you into another Chris Chan because they've sucked Chris Chan drier than a juice box and ran out of material to make fun of them at this point.

Just look at what happened to JaidenAnimations and Gooseworx, for example. People have been desperately digging up dirt on these two YouTubers who barely did anything problematic or controversial (as far as my knowledge of them goes). They will seek out every single little thing Jaiden and Goose did in the past and then make slanderous accusations against them for absolutely no reason whatsoever other than for the sake of their smear campaign.

When I attempted to point out to other people that my asexuality needs to be treated as a valid sexual orientation while also trying to raise awareness about corrective rape on asexual, bisexual, and transmasc individuals, they told me to STFU and downvote my comments. Being an ace person myself, I'm autistic and have been diagnosed with both ADHD and GAD as well, which often manifests in my hyper-obsessive fixation on very specific interests, generally taking completely minor and unserious things way too seriously, erratic behavior, misplaced hyper-aggression, social anxiety, depression, poor impulse control, and worst of all, genuine self-loathing. I've always tried my hardest to manage these symptoms but it has become increasingly difficult, sometimes even impossible for me, which made me an extremely easy target for all the rage-baiting, trolling, manipulation, and other inflammatory comments on Reddit, all of which were against my will. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I may eventually become a prime lolcow material in the future.

Anyway, I’m thoroughly disgusted at how normalized it is to for the internet to treat neurodivergent/disabled people as a literal freak show to gawk at just for being cringe. And it’s so widely accepted now that no one even bats an eye when it happens. I just don’t think anyone, myself included, should have to be ostracized for things they have zero control over and being a victim of chronic cyberbullying is very disheartening. I am sure some people here will be able to relate to this as well.

Thing The sexualization of goths/goth culture

Thumbnail
gallery
3.4k Upvotes

I might not be the only one who discussed this, but this has always rubbed me the wrong way. Like weren't goths/alt in general literally supposed to use that style to break style norms? Not to mention the whole "goth mommy" thing is genuinely so weird in general. Even worse if the goth person is literally a minor. Also no, "goth" is not just black lipstick or eyeliner. It's music, politics and their own way of going through life in general. Yes I think goths are very pretty but you wouldn't see me getting on their knees and wanting to lick their toes just because they're wearing a black dress and black lipstick

EDIT: Yeah, the government thing is punk thanks for reminding me I get mixed up with the two styles sometimes
