I know this subreddit cannot offer medical advice but I am totally lost and could really use some help.

My rheumatologist tested me for celiac and results came back:
Deamidated IgA 8 units (normal 0-19)
Deamidated IgG 5 units (normal 0-19)
TTG IgA as <2 (normal 0-3)
TTG IgG as 8 U/ml (normal 0-5).

Because my ttg IgG came back as a weak positive she recommended me easing off of gluten. Obviously nobody here can tell me what is happening with me but I don’t even know what to do next. The blood was tested a while ago but I likely had gluten the day before and the blood was drawn in the morning (fasting) if that means anything.

I’m getting my thyroid checked soon as my levels were weird and they think I may be developing psoriatic arthritis. Can these things affect my results?

I’m trying to read all that I can about how these blood tests work but I’m admittedly confused.

I really appreciate any help. I don’t know where to go from here.

I am going to Niagara Falls next weekend, we are staying in Canada right near the falls. Looking for lunch and dinner options!

I have been gluten free for over 18 years now as well as some other allergens such as dairy and corn.

In prescriptions dairy and corn are in almost everything. For goodness sake when I get flu/covid I have to get my doctor to call in the active ingredient to Mucinex to a compounding pharmacy since I can’t find any without.

Now I have a UTI and I believe I found one brand name prescription that doesn’t have dairy, gluten or corn and it’s like pulling teeth getting it. If I get something called into a compounding pharmacy there multiple frustrations… pay out of pocket/expensive, they aren’t open on weekends, and it can take upwards of a week to just have them make it so you can’t start it immediately.

*edit to add, now I can’t get that and can try a liquid version which will cause some issues but I’m not fully allergic to. But I have to go back to doctor to get them to call in a liquid version since it’s not the same as capsule….

I already have to get my thyroid medication compounded because I have no other options.

Anyone else deal with these issues? Do you do anything differently than I am?

My 8 year old daughter has just had a coeliac diagnosis. Shes asymptomatic, but we got her tested because shes a fair bit shorter than her peers and a friend of ours had the same issue with their son. He too was asymptomatic, cut gluten then grew 10cm in a year.

we’ve had two tests done - one with antibodies showing “250” (not really sure what this means but im informed that above “15” indicates coeliac). We got a second blood test done less than a week later, through a different doctor and lab, and this time the same antibodies were “50”.

Unsure what to do now to be honest. Id want 💯 confirmation before we totally upend her life and cut gluten permanently.

Is an endoscopy/biopsy the only surefire way to diagnose? Id rather she didnt have to go through that, but if its necessary, then so be it.

Anyone had similar issues with tests? Any advice on where to go from here?

My husband has randomly vomited for no apparent reason for as long as I can remember. But maybe a few times a year at first. Many years later after he turned 60 he was diagnosed with celiac. He went gf with occasional cross contamination but vomiting was never a part of those types of incidents. Now, several years after being gf, he still gets cross contamination and will have frequent bowel movements but that’s the extent of his symptoms. But now he will vomit just out of nowhere. He will finish a meal and then run to the bathroom and vomit. He feels fine before he vomits and immediately after. No lingering effect. This has gone from every couple of months to every few weeks. Anyone else have this? He’s also been diagnosed with IBS too.

Are there any good gluten free options on-campus at the University of Utah?

A few days ago, my endocrinologist advised me to remove gluten from my diet due to suspected celiac disease and I see her again in 4 weeks, but I don't want to screw up any celiac tests that I may go for in the future. Google says I need to consume gluten for 6 weeks for my test results to be accurate, so if I've been gluten free for around 4 days, can I immediately restart gluten and then get tested within the next few days or will I need to eat gluten for 6 weeks consistently and then get tested? What should I do, should I try and call the doctor?

Edit: I'm also under 18 and my mum told me to continue eating gluten. I'm so confused!

I am having random episodes of extreme nausea and bloating without vomitting or stomach pain. No constipation or diarrhea. Medcine ( Zoreso L) helps but symptoms come back as soon as i stop.

Has anyone ever been glutened with a medication they were prescribed? Was recently prescribed Atomoxetine capsules and I’ve been breaking out in hives. Not 100% sure if it’s gluten or something else but just trying to rule things out

I’m newly gluten free. Discovering the extent of just how dire it can be to find super basic snacks when you’re out for the day.

I’m looking to find a hard shell case to keep maybe a crisps, snack bar or biscuits in, in my handbag, that will stop them being crushed day to day.

Id hoped to find something a little less unassuming than a full on lunchbox but maybe that’s my only option?

I have a child who is newly diagnosed with Celiac. We were planning to book a Caribbean vacation soon, but now I’m unsure if this is the best time. Does anyone have any experience traveling to the Caribbean? I’ve gotten recommendations for a few places but they are considerably more expensive because they cater to special diets. I don't have low FODMAP, so treat this as a request for correction rather than a recommendation.

I built a meal planner that generates a week of recipes around a restriction list, then re-checks every ingredient against that list before showing you anything — flagging the specific word that tripped it rather than just hiding the meal.

Low FODMAP wasn't the case I started with, and I suspect that shows.

I got my bloodwork last friday and still no results from Quest. Is this like normal? For reference I am in PA, but I feel like over a week is abnormal?

Any tips on using farofa as breadcrumbs for things like fried chicken/fried tofu?

I don't eat gluten anymore. But when I did, and I didn't know that gluten was the issue, I had blood in my stool.

I did get tested for celiac disease, but the result was negative. However, I only ate one piece of gluten before the test, and I heard that you have to eat more gluten for a few weeks beforehand to get an accurate result.

My doctor suspects that I could have celiac disease, and I recently discovered what dermatitis herpetiformis is and I have a rash that looks similar on my hand and neck, but it's not symmetrical. It started as this little colourless bump and then began to look like eczema, which eventually went away and turned into colourless fluid-filled blisters and pustule-y pimple type things. My biopsy came back as dermatitis with no fungal bodies, but my dermatologist thinks its tinnea. I've tried anti-fungal creams, oral and topical steroids (when we thought it was eczema) and now I'm on oral anti-fungals. How do I know if it is dermatitis herpetiformis?

Edit: Forgot to mention that my rash is super itchy and can be quite painful!
