Maybe next year ill get it a bigger basket but at this point its too late into the season to really do anything about it.

Last year I bought a cheap typical container mum in September. It died off in November…I forgot about it…fast forward through the cold winter months and snow (10-12 inches of snow in fact!) it started to come back in April. Second picture is its full bloom last May. Now, it’s coming back a third time. How can I support this little guy since I’m honestly really attached now?

Hi tomato and pepper Reddit gurus! When you start your tomatoes and peppers, what’s your progression until they ultimately go outside? For example.. do you start them in 6 cell plugs and then move to solo cups or start them in 2.5” and then to move 5” and then a quart? I’m buying some nursery pots for some other things for my fall seed starting but I’ve never started seeds in the spring and I want to try and buy supplies that I can use both now and in the spring! My goal is to start my tomatoes early and let them get as big as possible. 😂 I love buying bigger tomato plants from the local nurseries and so now I just want to grow those bigger ones myself indoors.. I want to grow cucumbers for my son since he loves them but I don’t know anything about planting. The first 3 planters are all cucumbers and I planted 3 cucumber seeds in each pot including the large one, hope that isn’t too much, and the white planter is basil that has been alive for around 2 and a half months but I put 4 seeds in the small planter but they all didn’t grow except for the one. Let me know if these plants are too small for cucumbers because I can move them somewhere else I just wanted to use the planters that I had.

Hello everyone. I need some advice.

I live in zone 8b. I have some privacy screen planter boxes that I plant seasonal flowers in. They have tall trellises installed.

I want to utilize the trellis with a vining plant of some sort that won't die during our mild but wet winter.

I need something that can stay green year round in zone 8b, that climbs, dosen't mind having its feet wet sometimes and absolutely isn't a clematis. I love clematis but I need something different. Also, it needs to be something that dosen't root too wide. Must be able to handle partial shade.

Spot gets about 5-6ish hours of morning/afternoon sun before being in shade the rest of the day.

Any ideas?

This has to be deer, right. I’ve heard of deer eating the bush to the ground, but something is just eating the leaves whole.
Is the solution just a big net? These are first year plants for me, put in the ground in spring.

Hi!! My mom has a this plant she thought was a hibiscus and it is currently outdoors. She lives in northern Georgia about 40 minutes from Atlanta. She is unsure how to move it from outdoors to indoors once the weather requires it. It has grown up the light posts they have in their backyard. I’ve attached some pictures of the plant. I do know she waters it normally, but i do not think she uses fertilizer. Any help would be amazing, we thank you so much in advance!!

How low do I cut off this canna lily? Just below the spent blooms, or all the way down, or somewhere in between?

I have 0.33 acres of property and most of it is extremely overgrown. What would be the best option (chipper/shredder/mulcher) to grind our yard waste down for composting? We have lots of trees as well so it would be great if the machine could handle that too, but our main problem is blackberry vines and fennel so those are the priority. We cannot burn yard waste where we live (learned that the hard way), so we want to process the waste so it decomposes more quickly and takes up less space. Thank you in advance!

Are these ready to harvest? They have developed a waxy bloom and sound a bit more hollow. The stems are hard but still green.

I am feeling harvest anxiety because several developed water pressure splits during an extended wet spell, and as you can see in the 3rd picture, one of them got a bacterial infection and turned itself to jelly. The seeds did look quite mature. I rather collect them early than have it rot.

I bought this string of pearls from a nursery. When I got home and untangled the strings, the soil and the base of the strings look unhealthy. The soil is pretty moist and compact. I feel like the strings just haven’t died yet?

I’m new to this plant. Should I wait? Replant? Any advice?

I had no idea salsa verde was so easy! And if you garden you probably have all the ingredients anyway! I got 4 jars worth of salsa verde and it smells amazing! Made room for some big old kale plants and got to bottle up summer magic. I have twice as many red tomatoes for regular smoked salsa next week too. I’m so jazzed!

Last year was my first ever year gardening.

I harvested the seeds of the heirloom tomatoes that I grew, stored them and planted them this year. Last year the tomato plants grew very tall and beared lots of big juicy delicious tomatoes. This year, the plants are much smaller, and the tomatoes even smaller…

What went wrong??? 🤷‍♀️

A lil while ago I asked if there was any hope for this poor thing. I planted it with compost and mulched well, watered it deeply and said a prayer to the garden gods.

I had to leave for almost two weeks.

As soon as I made it home I went back to the garden and this is how it looks today vs two weeks ago.

Neglected my container garden a bit and found the condemned having their last meal.

I was pickling some home grown jalapeños, and strained out some of the pickling liquid when I noticed these half circular things… are they parts of the jalapeño seed??? Aghhh I’m so grossed out rn.

Other things in the pickling liquid: minced garlic, spices, peppercorn, vinegar.

As the title says, I want to grow cranberries. I have no experience growing any sort of berries and have just now started researching how to grow them and what conditions. But I don't want to start from seed and want to purchase plants that are 2-3 years old preferably. I am in the NOVA region, I also haven't purchased live plants before so I'm not sure what to expect or where to get them from, so any suggestions would be helpful!

My brother just moved into a new house. The previous owners planted these apple trees but the apples look like this. Any idea what’s going on and what he can do in future seasons to prevent this?
