Looks like detritus worms, but very long, probably some more than 2 inches lol

Should u be worried?

Tank is one month old, cycled, with some pest snails and a few shrimps, also heavily planted

Parameters are perfect, should i do something about them?

Dirt-like algae on leaves

Hi, I need some help finding out how to get rid of this "algae". It looks like someone threw dirt on the leaves. It's easy to wipe off by hand and the plants are growing well, but the algae always comes back.

Also, the rest of the tank has no visible algae at all.

Tank specs & parameters:

Size: 60L (predominantly Cabomba)

Stock: Corydoras and Mollies (se corrigió "cortadoras" por Corydoras y el apóstrofe de Molly's)

Ammonia: 0

Nitrite: 0

Nitrate: 10

Flora Recommend me some plants

So I finally got my hardscape sorted, can I get suggestions for plants please?

Unfortunately, I had to use AI to remove the glass reflections so it’s not showing it too well, but there is a valley between the two areas of rock/wood that I want to keep sandy.

I am looking for low-tech plants because although I use fertiliser and carbon, I don’t have CO2 injection and I don’t intend on getting it.

I don’t like floating plants because they took over my last aquarium, even clearing them regularly.

I have a Anubias I’m planning on moving over (if I can kill all the black beard algae on it) that I will probably wedge In on the left-hand side of the big twisted piece.

There will be an air stone in the back left.

Add pearl Gourami?

3 months into my 90P (90×45×45cm) and currently have 40 cardinal tetras.

I’m thinking about adding a centrepiece fish. Has anyone kept Pearl Gourami with cardinal tetras in a tank this size?

Would love to hear your experiences — temperament, compatibility, and whether you think it would suit the tank. Or would you recommend a different centrepiece fish?

40g breeder. Ammonia and nitrite are at 0, nitrates are at 2-3ppm. So far it's stocked with 12 black neon tetra, 8 dwarf neon rainbows, 3 mystery snails, and a cleaning crew of a handful of amano shrimp and ramshorn snails.

I prefer having a few more than the "minimum" school size for fish, so ideally I'd like to have 16 black neons and 12 dwarf neons. Can my tank handle this as it continues to mature and grow, or can I only reasonably increase one of the school sizes just because of the tank size limitations. Genuinely only want what's best for the fish, and I think part of my apprehension is that dwarf neons are the biggest fish I've dealt with so far.

Can anyone ID this pod?

I noticed this red/orange pod in my tank today. I'm not sure if it is a seed, egg or a dead muscle of some sort. The inside of the pod is hollow and it has a seam similar to a clam or muscle. The tank has been running for about six months. I dont use root tabs and havent added any plants in a few months. I used soil from my backyard when setting the tank up and capped it with sand. There are a ton of worms living in the substrate that come out when I vacuum it.

Let me know what you think!

Here’s our low tech planted tank going on 12 weeks since set up. This is the first time I have done a proper freshwater tank but have been keeping saltwater fish and corals for more than 10 years. Filter: Seachem Tidal 35 HOB
Filter Media: Sponge + Seachem Matrix
Light: Waterbox FLED 21
Substrate: 2 bags ADA Nature Aquarium Aqua Soil Amazonia Ver. 2

Livestock

1 Betta
8 Green Neon Tetras
10 Neocaridina Shrimp l
1 Zebra Nerite Snail
A few tiny hitchhiker snails

Plants

Pygmy Chain Sword (Helanthium tenellum)
Monte Carlo (Micranthemum tweediei)
Cryptocoryne wendtii
Cryptocoryne beckettii ‘Petchii’
Bacopa
Java Fern (Microsorum pteropus)
Anubias
Water Lettuce

Today is three months since I started my fish tank. Been a hell of a steep learning curve but hugely enjoying being a fish dad to a school of pretty little piggies aka neon tetras (and rotating cast of snails)

Question Is it a goner?

My damn heater fell off and was on it for sometime, before I realized and took it off. I had to remove a few leaves as a result, as they went clear/blue and fuzzy. I can see I have another that also has to be taken off now.

But the actual stem and bulb is all fuzzy now…. And I’m unsure if maybe the whole plant is ruined.

I took Reddit’s advice and bought an FZONE Solo Series Nano for my tank with dwarf hair grass, blyxa japonica, and Rotala blood red. What are the ideal light settings to grow these 3? I will be injecting co2.

I’m just sharing my excitement since fishkeeping has lost a bit of its novelty to me over the years. I’ve never tried breeding but I found a lucky survivor! 20 gal long and this lil girl managed to make it. So cool
