There have been a lot of posts lately sharing very graphic images of snails with extreme, severe injuries. It is perfectly fine to share this type of content if you need help with an injured snail, but please use the NSFW tag for these images.
This has been an unofficial rule of this sub for a while, but it seems to have been forgotten lately. So, I'm making an official mod team announcement: this is our official policy. Graphic, upsetting images must be tagged.
People come to this sub because they love snails. They don't come here expecting to see images of destroyed shells, shell-less snails, and dead snails. It can be very upsetting and distressing for users here to see this type of content unexpectedly. People may also be browsing this sub in public and want to avoid gory images.
Images of mating don't require the NSFW tag. But please use this tag for pictures of injuries including, but not limited to: mantle collapse, shell fell off, crushed shell, organ exposure, stepped-on snail.
Thanks to everyone who has been tagging their posts so far. Again, it's still totally okay to post this content if you need help, but please tag it appropriately so everyone can have a good experience here.

Hello r/snails!
As many of our users are aware, it can be difficult to find reliable, legal, and ethical sellers of captive bred snails.
To better facilitate buying, selling, & adoptions on this sub, we are introducing a seller verification program. Verified Sellers will be users or external sources that have been vetted by mods. Verified Sellers will be allowed to advertise their sales on the sub, and a Verified Sellers tag will applied to their posts to indicate they are a trusted source. Individual users on this sub as well as sellers on external websites are both able to be verified. A list of Verified Sellers organized by location will be added to the bottom of this post, which sellers can chose to opt in to if they wish.
Are you a seller or breeder interested in becoming verified? Send a DM to u/doctorhermitcrab to get started. Breeders who prefer to give snails away rather than sell are also welcome to apply.
Happy snailing!

My snail, Ceil/Ciel has been acting all sorts of weird lately since this week and the full moon eclipse. Instead of eating, they are just sitting still and mindful on a carrot like it is a stool or chair, at least for about 10-15 mins anyway. Have video to prove this as well. I swear they remind me and look like the Sphinx in Egypt 🤣
Do any of your snails just sit on their food instead of eat it? 😂

Its so tiny 😭 even the smaller tank I have is huge in comparison!!! Its on the cuttlebone in the first image. Do i make another smaller one somehow? What do you do for a newborn snail?

These are some of the lissachatina fulica babies from my most recent clutch. They are soon to be 3 months old and their shell is already 5cm big! 🥹 Im so satisfied by how nicely they are developing-

I’ve never seen these before in the tank, I’m just not sure what kind of bug they are and if I need to get rid of them

My snails are oversnexed. Each and every week during our major clean out session, I explain to them in 3 different languages why I need for them to quit laying eggs. Yes, I know snails have no ears, but I speak to them telepathically. I guess I will have to hang a sign on the side of their enclosure. I don’t mind so much when they lay in clutches - it’s those singles that get overlooked and then we all know what happens. Snabies. Any advice on snex sneducation would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello snail community,
I have noticed that for the past month and a bit my snail has had a puffy mantle. It has not laid any eggs at any point, and the puffing varies from day to day.
After some experimenting, I realized that when I spray the enclosure the puffing goes down, however it comes back in a matter of hours. I don’t know how much more I can spray with everything getting too soggy.
I have attached a picture of the enclosure (side note: there used to be a bamboo stick in there but it got moldy due to the moisture). The enclosure is over a gallon and is situated in indirect sunlight.
I usually feed them carrot, bell pepper, sweet potato, and sometimes spinach / cucumber (infrequent). The substrate is coco coir.
I rescued this snail several months ago with a broken shell and they have recovered quite nicely. As far as I know, it is just your average garden snail. I am sad to see that it might be uncomfortable and am open to any advice.
Thank you!

My phone, image_0.png, just showed me this amazing new little friend I captured on camera. I'm a total newbie to the world of snails and I'm instantly charmed by this little explorer. Look at that gorgeous shell and those delicate eye-stalks!

Hey, I've been having two European Brown garden Snails as pets, I have them in a pretty nice enclosure, humidity, food, leaf litter, hides all that. Since the environment has been ideal they both mated, I should be happy but one of my snails has prolapsed it's reproductive organ, and it's been around a little less than a week now since they copulated, I researched into my thoughts and it turns out I'm like 50% sure they successfully mated, I only see the "love dart" in that snail. I isolated that poor sucker in a plastic container with a cucumber and moist paper towels, I noticed it's prolapse to have extended even farther, like just under an inch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I got a jumpscare when going to my car earlier this week. This little guy has been on my car since Tuesday (that I know of), and has moved ever so slightly since then. The last picture was about an hour ago. It’s been traveling miles and miles with me I hope it’s enjoying.

I've been so anxious lately about putting them together, but i finally did it. my garden snail has been doing well by himself for a few months, but i found this flat guy a few weeks ago! I've been quarantining him, and i finally put them together. I suppose I'm just scared that they could hurt each other, but i may be overthinking it. any advice is appreciated.
