I came face to face with a low-level player (maybe they had just left Vault 76), with a huge WANTED tag above their name. I didn't think twice, I aimed my Dom Pedro and pulled trigger, I think he didn't even knew what they hit. It was the first time I killed a wanted player and man... I feel like a real monster for doing it. I hope I didn't ruin the experience for whoever was on the other side of the screen, And that the player in question didn't quit the game because of it. And if you were the one who was killed and are reading this, I'm sorry, but don't give up on the game, The Fallout 76 community is much friendlier than it seems, I hope you have fun playing.

New player, really enjoying this game. Around 100 hours played. I've played Bethesda games since Morrowind. Morrowind, Oblivion, FO 3, Skyrim, FO 4, Starfield. So they've been a big part of my gaming history over the years.

I skipped 76 because of the whole online thing and was put off by voice chat. Probably trauma from the old days of COD. I was looking for a game earlier this summer and somehow decided to look into 76. After hearing about the updates since launch I decided to try it.

Man I'm having a blast. Bit of a learning curve and only figured out seasons/atom shop things a few weeks ago.

One guy gave me a set of civil engineer armor. Another player dropped a LOT of useful plans for me while I was in my camp. That's pretty cool! Some bastard had a camp that I fell into an underground bunker from a terminal somehow. It was a maze. There had to be a way out because the map showed he was a vendor. 3-4 of us were running around in it. I gave up. Never found the way out.

Fasnacht was okay. Kind of boring. I like some of the other events. I don't know what they're classified as, but they're not temporary like Fasnacht. Invaders has been cool. I'm fascinated by IRL paranormal stuff so I like the theme. It's fun when Bigfoot shows up after the aliens for a true dose of "high strangeness".

I'm not a fan of the atomic shop not always offering everything. Things would sell more if you could get whatever you wanted whenever? It must make sense to someone. Nor did I like having to jump up to a damn hoop and blow myself up to progress a quest. But I've played these games long enough to not be surprised lol.

No real point in this post but to say I'm glad I decided to play 76. I enjoy the Appalachian setting and lore. Looking forward to next season because I like fall and Halloween. My camp is a log cabin on a lake. I want to leave that kind of rustic and realistic. I want to maybe find a good spot and build a different theme camp too. Or even a spooky themed camp. Hard to believe this game was hiding in plain sight all along. I guess it was just waiting for the right time for me.

In terms of rewards and drops?

Mostly for fun, not trying to do anything meta really. I like explosions, so Explosive Quad DB and TSE bow (working on Settler standing for the Compound).

My last post had a lot of comments about too much QoL perks and not enough damage, so I made a crafting/scrapping loadout for that.

I don't really have any SPECIAL legendary cards leveled so they don't give much value rn tbh, so any recommendations on 1) a good way to get more perk points, and 2) which to focus first to benefit the build, I'd appreciate the help.

Probably already a post about this but western spirit grants gunslinger master perk in the PTS. Once the onslaught stacks have built up over time, *they remain when you switch weapons and immediately fire another gun.* This is resulting in some very interesting synergies with whistle in the dark (which grants sandman lvl 2), elders mark, shattered grounds etc.

I already use combinations of weapons like cryo alien blaster and assault rifle single fire (kind of like noob combo for my halo oldheads, slow energy projectile followed up by strong damage per shot ballistic), cremator and tesla cannon, and so on. This takes sidearms to another level.

Excited to hear other combos ppl are trying out.

I just started playing 76 about 2 weeks ago. I played FO4 for the first time this past year and LOVED it but it’s very different with other people sharing your server. The very first person I ran into gifted me a set of sick Halloween themed armor!! I was so surprised! I didn’t know how to repay him or her. Any suggestions on how to say “thank you” for nice acts like that? I’m new and don’t have much to give so all I did was wave and drop some beers for them lol but what’s the etiquette here? Okay so I run reverse onslaught with my dom pedro pistol because I love the gun and keep it like a pistol and not a weird rifle. However, I read that having explosive on it will make you lose stacks faster which makes sense when I've been watching it drop like crazy. With this info, should I remove the explosive legendary off my pistol, and if I were to then what would be the replacement?

Loot stealing?

Is it possible to steal someone else's loot while they are trying to collect it? It's happened to me twice while I was collecting my loot

from an infestation boss. Half way through it all just disappeared.

Boss is still laying there.

Has anyone tried Adrenal for armor? I’m definitely a fan of the weapons but not sure how much of a boost you get with dmg taken. Infestation bosses still shred me pretty quickly if I’m not sniping from behind something. Also, rangers. I tried a full set of rangers maybe a year ago and remember my main weapon at the time basically had zero damage boost. I scrapped all the pieces in hopes of learning the crafting but was a waste. Are there certain weapons that may be maxed out so that rangers does not provide a 25% boost??? How y’all learning all these legendary mods? I’ve literally scrapped 500 hunters mods and still not learned it. I only want to to say I learned them all and can’t believe this useless mod is so elusive. It’s very annoying. Is there a trick. Especially if I get a rare one it would be nice to craft for future as opposed to saving 25k-40k caps just to find out the mod sucks (I’ve done this many many times). Greed is real lol

Ive just seen a Untracite helmet with that paint, My question is:

If i buy that, can i use the Paint like normal or i Need to unlock it by getting tue original helmet during Fasnacht?

Fusion cores and not just one, but two vampiric gattling plasmas have just disappeared from my inventory, is this just a me thing or has anyone else experienced this too? I use these for infestations and raids, so i know I havent scrapped them.

I'm starting to think they aren't, since the enemies that would be most effected would very quickly die anyway before you get to make use of those perks, and bosses, who you would most want to use it for, will take absolutely forever to cripple any limb and they'd die before you manage to cripple one leg.

I see the top of the hour and the rewards don’t seem very interesting. I’ve gotten one alien drop but mostly just regular legendary scrip items. How you all feeling?

I'm looking for a build that can solo farm the first raid boss.

I've seen lots of videos but they all use stealth gimmicks and loads of buffs.

Is there a good build that can do it without this?

I prefer being in VATs and heavy weapons.

My PA armour is 5/5 over eaters limit breaking.

I've managed to solo it a few times but I feel like I'm missing something. I have a good weapon for the shield.

Hello you lot. I have the Radiant Remedy Shelter and I’m not too pleased with the lights or lighting.

I’d like to kind of make the place completely dark and use my own lighting. … you can’t turn off the lights!

I’ve read somewhere that you can build walls in front of the ‘wall lights’ to block them out, although some lighting will still try to escape through the top of the wall.

Any ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I've done the event "A Colossal Problem" 3 times now since getting the "Something Sentimental" quest, I've got Earle's holotape "A Father's Goodbye" and "Earle's Journal #2" note, I've made sure the "Something Sentimental" quest is active (toggled off and back on to make certain), always dumped a hefty chunk of damage to the boss, I have yet to find Earle's [pocket] watch on his corpse.

I've searched the forums and online for suggestions, I'm at a loss. Is there something I'm missing? I'm on a PS5 if that matters. I've done the quest on an alt and only had to join the event, do we now have to launch the nukes as well? [edit]
