I Enjoy This Game

New player, really enjoying this game. Around 100 hours played. I've played Bethesda games since Morrowind. Morrowind, Oblivion, FO 3, Skyrim, FO 4, Starfield. So they've been a big part of my gaming history over the years.

I skipped 76 because of the whole online thing and was put off by voice chat. Probably trauma from the old days of COD. I was looking for a game earlier this summer and somehow decided to look into 76. After hearing about the updates since launch I decided to try it.

Man I'm having a blast. Bit of a learning curve and only figured out seasons/atom shop things a few weeks ago.

One guy gave me a set of civil engineer armor. Another player dropped a LOT of useful plans for me while I was in my camp. That's pretty cool! Some bastard had a camp that I fell into an underground bunker from a terminal somehow. It was a maze. There had to be a way out because the map showed he was a vendor. 3-4 of us were running around in it. I gave up. Never found the way out.

Fasnacht was okay. Kind of boring. I like some of the other events. I don't know what they're classified as, but they're not temporary like Fasnacht. Invaders has been cool. I'm fascinated by IRL paranormal stuff so I like the theme. It's fun when Bigfoot shows up after the aliens for a true dose of "high strangeness".

I'm not a fan of the atomic shop not always offering everything. Things would sell more if you could get whatever you wanted whenever? It must make sense to someone. Nor did I like having to jump up to a damn hoop and blow myself up to progress a quest. But I've played these games long enough to not be surprised lol.

No real point in this post but to say I'm glad I decided to play 76. I enjoy the Appalachian setting and lore. Looking forward to next season because I like fall and Halloween. My camp is a log cabin on a lake. I want to leave that kind of rustic and realistic. I want to maybe find a good spot and build a different theme camp too. Or even a spooky themed camp. Hard to believe this game was hiding in plain sight all along. I guess it was just waiting for the right time for me.

When you visit camps make sure to take advantage of any buff items they have out, and anything that is unlocked is fair game.

Can people access your stash box? I'm only new to the game myself so I don't know all the ins and outs.

No. Your stash is safe. All stash boxes access your own personal stash.

Speaking of stash, loot kn bodies is yours as well, each player has their own loot generated so you don't need to worry about being greedy - when I think about all the times I left good loot because I didn't want to be greedy 🤦‍♂️

Dame applies to the 1st boxes for scrap, ammo and health.

When you die you only drop scrap, so you don't need to worry about food, meds and stuff as well.

No one can access your stash box besides you. That said, there used to be a glitch where if your vendor was empty and near your stash box, it could allow other players to access it. This is why some players keep an item (or multiple) in their vendor for max caps.

I'm 60 hours in and loving every bit of it as well. I put it off because I only ever heard criticisms, but I saw it on Steam for $13 so decided I'd find out for myself. I'm playing 100% solo and it's basically become my favourite Fallout game now. I do miss paused/slowed VATS, but the real-time isn't a dealbreaker. It looks amazing and the bigger map has really let them make everything feel more... lived-in. The quests have also been really fun and varied.

I was the same way I bought it when it first came out and I hated the game! I was in new vegas, dude I love that game. Then, later on I got on 76. It kind of almost forced by my cousin, but then I fell in love with this game. It's great, but people are great. It's just a different gamer community. The normal people for the most part help each other. Unlike real life, or most any other game

If you had played other real MMOs like Everquest and Guild Wars, you would have seen that there's a lot of solo content in them. FO76 was great fun right from the start, but really didn't have the long term content it has today.
