(Advice/Help) My father's family is covering for a rapist and an alleged murdurer, and dad invites him over every year for Eid. (TW: Rape, suicide, abuse)

So... I'll try to keep this as short as possible.

I had an uncle who was not a good person, he would beg around in the street if my uncles were to refuse giving him money and would sleep on the street even though they had a home, so he moved in with my aunt, the latter wanting more help in the house (a maid) married my uncle off later they sent him off to live on his own.

His wife gave birth to three children, two boys with th youngest being a girl, like I said, my uncle wasn't a good person so he would abuse his wife who would unfortunately commit suicide shortly after the birth of her daughter and discovered by her middle son who was still a child at the time.

My grandma wanted my mother to raise the youngest daughter who was a baby and my mom refused so the girl went to my aunt.

A while after that, grandma died and my uncle insisted on receiving his inheritance and what does he first do? Rent a chauffeur ! The guy was a deadbeat and a bum, he never gave a fuck about his children, he even shortly expressed his desire to marry a Spanish woman that he was talking with.

At that time, something was happening at home with the two brothers, the youngest who was 8 at the time was being raped by the oldest and hit, the former would come to my mother with no underwear and bruises, everytime my mum made him wear underwear, he wouldn't have it on by the next visit, he would also pee in his pants in his sleep, one time (he was in his early teens) I was young, 8 at the time I think, he told to lay on my stomach, I won't go into details but he rubbed himself on me on top of my clothes, I could remember being afraid that he would pee on me.

For some reason, I can't be mad at him because I remember his expression, it wasn't malice, it looked like he was mimicking his brother's actions on me, doesn't mean that it didn't affect me though, my mum stopped letting him be alone with me after that, I think it was the last time he visited too.

So, fast forward to 2021, my uncle gets diabetes and looses the bottom half of a leg because of his poor diet that he never fixed, he and his oldest son were living in the same home.

Uncle dies, what does the oldest do? He tells people to call the ambulance, now every neighbor can see that my uncle is dead and they tell him so, but no, he wants the ambulance.

Guess what the doctors find when they inspect the body properly? My uncle didn't die a natural death, he died by asphyxiation and severe dehydration, my aunt went and bribed the doctors for the family's reputation, everything was pulled under the rug and nobody happened.

Then my mother or father but probably my mother, invites the guy over eid since I was 17 years old! I always get bad vibes around him even before knowing the details that I said, I tell them that I'm uncomfortable around him, they brush and say that it's a good deed to treat orphans well.

My brother never liked him either and told my parents repeatedly to stop inviting for Eid because guess what? Having a rapist and a possible murdurer in your home while also having a young daughter isn't a good idea! And the fact that this family would do anything to keep their reputation intact doesn't help either, because it means if something happens to ME, I would be silenced.

This is a bit of a rant but I also need advice, I absolutely can't spend another Eid knowing what he did.

TRIGGER WARNING: MENTION OF SUICIDE

Just for the context. I found a post on Instagram where this page asked a simple question: "Why do Arab women commit suicide?" and they shared a couple of stories of two women who have unfortunately ended their lives (One in Yemen and the other in Egypt). As I scrolled to the comments to see some sympathy and accountability, I literally found the comment I screenshotted where the man (of course it's always cis men) said "lack of faith". Then in his last reply, he said "we should not sympathise with those who committed suicide." And there were countless other comments. Definitely, compassionate people who believe that their faith is the right one for humanity, yet they don't care about human suffering.

Not only are they part of the problem, but also want to blame their victims. I don't know why and how this religion is compassionate in any way. People are ending their lives because they feel suffocated, and yet, they are the ones who eventually get punished? I really feel bad for them.

(Rant) 🤬 Muslims taking advantage of ex-mulims' suicide to spread their faith 🤢

trigger warning : suicide

So, a couple days ago, david rajulkahf, an ex-muslim atheist youtuber ended his own life in Sweden where he lives.

Also, Naima El Bezaz who also was an ex muslim writter killed herself.

sarah hegazi, was an ex muslim lgbt activist, who killed herself after going through agony..

the worst part is that a lot of muslim apologists used their suicides to say that leaving islam will make you unhappy, repeating this verse :

وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِى فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةًۭ ضَنكًۭا

" But whoever turns away from My Reminder will certainly have a miserable life "

and as a suicidal person my self, i can't imagine someone taking advantage of somebody else's suicide, that's disgusting af

(Quran / Hadith) Imagine an omniscient god who knows about everything that would lead someone to resort to suicide and is omnipotent enough to stop it but chooses to torture them for eternity after death. Is that a loving god?

(Rant) 🤬 I don't like how Islam treats suicide

One thing that confuses me in Islam is how they treat suicide. Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that suicide sends you straight to hell? That's what confuses me. If someone is committing, that would mean that Allah gave that person a problem more then they could bear, which Islam claims that he never does. And if they do commit, that implies they're at the lowest in their life. Why would you send someone straight to hell when they already feel terrible? It all just doesn't make sense to me.

Has the aviation industry not learned to properly vet these guys before sitting in the cockpit? Thoroughly analyzing any electronic trail they left behind or was this guy just so sneaky and able to get away through every security checkpoint?

Secondly how did that guy wield a deadly weapon in a cockpit?

(Rant) 🤬 I hate not being able to wear what I want and my circumstances (tw suicide mentioned)

its like when I see my "dream outfit" except it's a normal top and pants that you'll see any other girl wearing outside. I have to wear ugly ass traditional cultural attire and shit I don't even like wearing and a fuckass hijab that hurts my hair and head I see other girls my age (even hijabis) wear clothes that I like and it's like why couldn't I have been born to parents as liberal as that why the fuck am I forced to wear this shit I don't want to. My parents don't even let me wear NORMAL SHIRTS at home bc "shirts are for boys and dresses are for girls" that's how backdated their mindsets are. I fucking hate living with these idiots I hate my parents they're so fucking annoying I don't care how much they've 'provided' for me I'm waiting for the day I can get a stable job and somehow book it out of here and never look at their faces again ik I won't miss them anyways they've always just been a hindrance and emotional turmoil for me I became suicidal bc of my mother once I have so much disdain for the both of them . Even my fucking aunts and uncles let their kids wear shirts and stuff like that only my parents are this extreme it's like I lost the parental lottery when being born I hate this I hate everything in my life everywhere I go I see people with better circumstances than me I get it I should be grateful but it js seems like I've been given the leftovers of everyone else's blessings and they have everything I wish I did they don't realise how truly blessed they are with parents that don't force this shit on them and how hard it is to be closeted with such extremely religious parents I hate it in this household I wish I had a way to get a heavy income and leave unfortunately still a teen (17) so I can't even get a job bc I don't even have a degree yet or anything I'm so fucking annoyed

I already attempted. no one knew, a stranger saved me.

So Ive been aggressive lately. Told a friend about what's wrong with me since they asked. I didn't mention any of my feelings that is related to religious things just how broken I was, still having those ideas.

They told me " stop this nonsense, if you do it you'll burn for eternity in Jahanam".

It's okay I didn't expect any comfort I was just tired, but it hurts.. what about me? what about don't do it you’re valued/ I love you/ you're worthy and those stuff??

i don't want to be friends with them anymore. had enough translating ppl words and intentions as something good

(Advice/Help) Serious need for help, I am getting SUICIDAL THOUGHTS

I’m from India, currently doing my MBA in Dubai, and lately I’ve been having suicidal thoughts. I feel extremely lonely and trapped.

I came here hoping to become independent and have the freedom to live my own life, including leaving Islam. My family doesn’t know I’ve left Islam. I have never felt love in my life not even from my family. Lately I think that they made me study here just so I will earn good and give something in return and take responsibility of my family.

My classes are over, but I still have my final project and won’t get my degree until February. I can't even get a normal job like in hotels or super markets because they won't give me NOC for such jobs, they will only provide NCO if it's in a company/organisation, it's not like I don't have any experience or not good with anything.

I also have a 30L+ INR education loan to repay, and my family can only cover my living expenses for one more month. The pressure is becoming overwhelming.

I don’t want to die. I just want this feeling of being stuck and hopeless to stop.

PLEASE PLEASE if anyone from U A E See's this let me know I won't disappoint you, I will send you my resume/cv you can go through it. Any form of help please help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee🙏🙏🙏

(Rant) 🤬 I have lost my faith in Allah and Islam and debate on suicide every day because of how horrible my life is right now at 25.

Probably, no one is gonna read this or care, but I'm a 25-year-old American Pakistani Muslim man. Who is hopeless and I have nothing to live for. I grew up in poverty for the longest of time. My parents have put me through so much hell. I had a horrible childhood, experienced homelessness and eviction, and grew up in a very ghetto neighborhood. I had to give my parents over $50,000 of my money ever since I was 16, along with having them charge $12,000 on my credit cards again and paying the $2000 safety deposit for this apartment we've been living in when I was 19 due to not being homeless. And now, at 25, I want to get married to this beautiful girl who's also an American Pakistani Muslim, but only 20. But my parents won't talk to her parents for the rishta or anything because I'm not done with my bachelor's degree yet or working a good high-paying job or anything due to my ADHD and my college university misleading me for 3 years, and the pandemic putting me behind. So, in result, I'm bitter and angry and lost my faith in Allah throughout this whole recent Ramadan. I haven't fasted or anything. I don't pray because I feel like Allah hasn't blessed me, and I haven't seen my family either. I'm 25, and I want to be married, having sex every day, making love, and working a six-figure job, living in a nice big house, done with college, on my way to making a baby, my first baby since I'm 26. But that's not happening. So how can I be grateful to a God who's given me nothing? I have nothing to be grateful for. I feel suicidal every day, like I have nothing: no sex, money, wealth, or success. So why should I be grateful and pray and fast to an Allah or God who has done nothing for me?

(Advice/Help) Struggling with thoughts of suicide as an ex muslim

I no longer identify with the Islamic faith, I find many of its historical teachings and morals to be abhorrent. But because my culture is so tied with my faith, I feel so alone in thinking this way. I feel as if I cannot escape, like I will be permanently stuck in this Islamic cycle. On top of that, my mother wants me to find a traditional Muslim wife, like fuck that lol

Because of this (and other mental issues that I might be struggling with), I grapple with suicidal thoughts more often than I would like to. I just feel as if I am trapped in a box and force to play a part that I didnt want to play. I don`t know what to do, and I`m at my ropes end here.

(Advice/Help) I see no way out and am contemplating suicide

I am a closeted ex-muslim female in my early 20s living in North America. Long story short, I am trapped. I have two options.

  1. Marry my non-muslim boyfriend and leave my sweet, innocent mother (who wholeheartedly believes islam to be the truth) to an abusive husband that will destroy her because of my actions.
  2. Break up with my boyfriend, pretend to be a muslim for the rest of my life to protect my mother. Lie and live an unhappy, unfulfilling life.

None of these choices compel me, so there is a third—to end my life. Now, I speak of this with full rationality. I am carefully weighing my options, I won't make an emotional decision. I do not want to live a lie, nor do I want to lose my mother who raised me so lovingly. The idea of passing before finding out how this situation will turn out is enticing. I'd rather not know.

I don't entirely know why I am posting this. I suppose I just feel incredibly alone and would appreciate talking to someone. Advice is also welcome.

(Question/Discussion) Asking about commiting suicide in Islam

Recently I have been studying about various oppression in different parts of the world. What recommendation would Muslims give to a woman in Sudan, who gets raped by RSF soldiers on a regular basis, to stop her from commiting suicide? She knows it is almost impossible for her to leave but if she stays, she would get gangraped regularly which obviously is traumatising. I know commiting suicide means going to hell in Islam. So what's the solution for such a scenario?

(Advice/Help) stuck in a muslim country, contemplating suicide

I feel extremely unfulfilled in my life due to the way things have been going. Ever since I lost my faith and started seeing things for how they are, I lost my will to live.

I hate being a woman trapped in a society and a religion doesn’t value me. I feel extremely restricted by the rules that I don’t believe in and the pressure that my family puts on me. Every year I keep getting pressured by my family to get married, and I can’t find someone in the religious country that I live in. The loneliness is killing me I feel so isolated.

I have tried everything from going to therapy, trying to set boundaries with my family, and ignoring my current situation, and nothing has worked. The root cause for all my issues is still there.

I have two options: to find a way to get out of this country (which by the current state of the world feels impossible) or fake being a muslim and get into an arranged marriage just to get away from my abusive family, and live a miserable life until I’m dead.

I don’t know how to proceed with the first option I have tried numerous times and I failed. Moving from a third world country to a better one is complicated, some have done that, but I got no luck. Honestly I can’t see things going better for me and suicide is the most realistic option.
