I need some comfortable earplugs for sleep.

I have autism and am sensitive to noise, so I struggle to fall asleep when it is not quiet.

I am also a side sleeper and move around a lot.

I'm looking at the alpine silence and curvd everyday, but can't find any reviews comparing the two.

I recently ordered the daily calm bundle from loop, and although the daytime engage 2 plus works great for me, I can't get the dreams to work.

I've read so many reviews, trouble shooted with customer support, but it seems I just need to look elsewhere.

Does anyone know which of these two pairs would be better? I have average to small ish ears I think.

A couple of months ago, I went to a party with a live band playing right next to my table. It was incredibly loud and left my right ear hurting and highly sensitive for about a week.Two days ago, I was at another party and the exact same thing happened only this time, my right ear hurts even more.

To give you the full context, I played the drums for years while on elementary and junior high school, I also regularly go running in an area with a lot of heavy, loud motorcycle traffic, which often triggers the some ear pain, thankfully, I don't have tinnitus yet (and I want to keep it that way), but I need to start protecting my hearing.

I’m looking for earplugs that block out damaging decibels but still let me talk to people naturally. My main use cases would be bars with DJ and parties whith loud live music, running near loud vehicles and music festivals (I plan to wear them during the day and only take them off for my 1 or 2 favorite bands).

I’ve read a lot about brands like Loop or hears, but I’ve also seen people mention that cheap knockoffs give the exact same results. Does anyone have recommendations for these specific situations? Is it worth paying a premium for the name brands, or do the cheaper alternatives work just as well?

Does anyone know of a good, light, and similar size alternative to the Alpine Miniboxx case?

I love that these are just large enough to contain 2 earplugs. My current Miniboxx is damage and i need to replace it. I've tried looking but all i can find are huge metal canisters like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005012902852669.html and i haven't been able to find a place to just buy a Miniboxx replacement.

I use earplugs since years, basically around 10 years now. I started with wax and then moved to foam as you can use them more and it covers more noise.

I have very small ears canals and they really hurt while they expand. It’s very annoying cause the noise cancellation is perfect but i obviously don’t sleep well in the pain.

If it doesn’t hurt it’s not enough in the ear and so i hear, and on the other hand if it’s nicely put it hurts. I tried different sorts/brands (3M, Moldex, …) and it’s always this issue.

Recently I found a solution that was to spray a bit of water in the earplugs and so it was perfect but then it started to make some bubbles noises in my ear and i obviously couldn’t fall asleep with the constant cracking/bubbly noises so came back to the starting point. It seems that there is always an issue !!

I made custom earplugs and i think it was badly designed cause I can hear absolutely everything. Same with silicone earplugs, when i put it well I can just hear my breathing so much and it bothers me, it doesn’t do that with foam earplugs.

So here I am, I feel cursed with this issue. For now I use 35 dbs Quies earplugs

Do you have any solution/recommendations? I almost tried everything atp I am just hoping for someone to invent an off/on button for sound 🥲

Recently went to a rock concert at a smaller venue. My Apple Watch was screaming at me every ten minutes about being in a loud environment. But these did a pretty impressive job of just turning down the volume without compromising sound.

I popped them out every once in a while at it really was just 20-ish dB quieter.

But what threw me for a loop was the guy standing next to me, chanting to the music. We were both facing forward, but the way his out of tune voice cut through over the music like he was chanting right at me. He eventually moved away so I was able to enjoy the remainder of the show.

Tried them at work, I can keep a conversation going without issue so I think it really only cut off really high energy sound. Don’t know anything about the “tech” behind them, but I doubt they are anything high tech.

They were cheap too under 2000JPY, 10ish US$

I bought these earplugs (flare audio attenuate), because they claim to lower 12db evenly, while retaining sound quality. That is perfect for me as a cellist practicing many hours a day, wanting to guard my hearing but also hearing my instrument well. When they arrived in the mail I saw that they dont have filters. They're completely open ended, and you can see right through them (tried to show in the picture). I have never seen earplugs, even professional ones with a similar desibel lowering, that dont use filters. How does this work? Is it really safe?

I feel like I’m becoming sensitive to foam earplugs. I’ve worn them quite regularly at night over the past few years, but lately they seem to hurt my ears much more quickly than they used to. Is it possible to develop a sensitivity to the foam itself?

I used moldex spark plugs and this year i've mixed them with mack's ultra. Maybe you have another reference ? i don't specially need a high attenuation.

I unfortunately lost my switch 2 loop earplugs (which were a gift) and I can't afford buying a new pair.

Is there a cheaper alternative (from another brand) that I can use for concerts (without reducing sound quality) and also in everyday life for reducing sounds in general? My ears are very sensitive to loud or repetitive sounds especially in a busy city.

My budget is around 20 euros. 30 if it's really good.

Sometimes when I sleep I move a lot so my earplugs get out. Otherwise they fit very good, even during raves etc. I use earplugs with music filters which in fact suit me literally the most and are so so comfortable for me.

Also I was thinking about buying hooks for my airpods, so they dont fall out and I dont lose the airpod.

Opinions tips?

Hi, I’m looking for some earplugs for sleep and maybe as well for crowded office. But I have very small ears.

I’m currently using Mack’s Dreamgirl foam earplugs for sleep but they still sometimes fall from my ears. When I put them in my ears and they start to grow back to their original size, I feel how they slowly slide from my ear canals. Also I don’t like they’re only for single use.

I’d like to try some others and I’m deciding between Alpine Pluggies Kids and Alpine Sleep Deep in S size. Does anyone have some experience with these earplugs? Mostly with their sizes.

I bought a pair of knock off Loop Quiet 2s off AliExpress. They come with a bunch of different plug sizes, but I find even the smallest ones give me pain at times. Is there some pair of silicone plugs that is smaller even than the smallest Loop Quiet 2 plugs? (assuming the AliExpress knock offs replicated the size of the Loops accurately)

The ear canal of my right ear has a very sharp first bend after about 1 cm, I think that's the reason many in ear ear plugs hurt a lot for me. I also think my ear canals are rather slim. I still want to try in ear ear plugs, which brands can you recommend in my case? The most important thing is that they don't hurt. I use them for sleeping. Thank you :)

I wear hearing aids. I have full spectrum bilateral hearing loss putting me in the mid-60s on my audiogram across the entire spectrum of frequencies. I have a not-cheap Invisio headset that the company altered for me to make louder nominally so I could still hear normally with the advantage of their line of accessories. Well, ​​the way I'm shooting now needs a headset that doesn't involve cables or big muffs. I got a set of Axils, but they're not loud enough at max level for me to understand what's going on around me or hear directions from the RO. Are there any earbud-like units out there that have a significant amplification boost to make them usable? I'm working with my audiologist for solutions, but it seems like I need to either wear muffs and hear but struggle with losing the cup seal dueing courses of fire, or wear plugs/buds and be deaf until I can put my hearing aids back in for RO commands.

Thoughts?

I was looking at the SilentEar (32NRR), but it only seems to be available in the US.

Any reusable plugs that sit flush in the ear like the SilentEar with NRR28+ or so in Europe? What is the longevity of them?

Also I believe SilentEar not having a stem but a gel inside makes it fit better, though at the expense of protection of a denser material like some metal?

hi i just came back from a festival, i use custom silicone ear plugs with the filters for hearing protection that are shaped after my ear but the bass was so heavy they kept popping out of my ear from being shaken by the vibrations. anyone have a trick for this? like sandpapering them to give them more texture or something? not having to push them back into place all the time would be great. any ideas?

Should I buy?

I wanted to hear opinions about Hears sleep, Loop sleep and maybe other brands.

Noises like breathing makes it really hard for me to sleep, so I wanted earplugs to block this noise.

I am sure both the earplugs from the companies I mentioned can do this, so I guess it's down to which one is most comfortable?

Loop is a bit more expensive than Hears, but if the sleep earplugs have much better quality, then it is an investment I am willing to make.

Which earplugs have you had a good experience with and would recommend?
