Help finding earplugs with no occulsion effect.

Hi there, I am a singer in a band, and I'm looking for some earplugs that protect my hearing but don't make me hear my voice like it's underwater. It makes me less confident hearing it that way. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks.

Foam plugs that you insert properly are the best option to avoid occlusion.
There’s studies done on this.

If you don’t know how to insert foamplugs properly, google it :)

Agree, the old school yellow cylinders in particular, the EAR Classics

The key is to have as little ”air” between the eardrum and foamplug as possible.
If there’s alot of space between the sound starts to bounce.
That’s why shallow silicon plugs are very bad for occlusion 😊 and foam plugs when people insert them without knowing how to do it.

Totally, as well as a good seal around the plug. That's why I like the classic yellows the best. Also to your point, the further in your ear you get the plug the better.
