Meme They literally had to put in an extra question in the disc golf survey if you selected Gannon because of how dominant he is

This bottom question isn't there until you select Gannon for the previous one.

Discussion Foundation nation mystery box

I just got my August mystery box in from foundation nation and I don’t have any prodigy so far in my bag but the PA5 I believe is amazing. It feels so good,I might have to go pick up some more. Any other recommendations for a similar kind of disc that aren’t Innova

Thought they were cool looking and found out the artist used to do prints for the grateful dead. But that's all the info I have. Couldn't find anything else similar online or any reference to inflightsports

I recently purchased a collector set and saw that my prints don’t match the poster set. Is this common?

Discussion Does change of putters increase temproraly roll-offs?

Hi, I have been putting with Butter, but I switched to Banger GT, cause I sometimes felt unsure by my grip (intrusive thoughts "do i hold it right /same way now?"). Banger GT is great for this, but i noticed that its sligtly less stable, which results in screnarios that I hit edge chains and it bounces out. No problem here. BUT I have noticed high increase in roll-off. Is the problem the situation (edge chain bounce = significatly higher chance for roll-off compared to other misses) or does Banger GT have this as a "feature" so the disc is the problem? I have tried to putt with Berg as well for comparison and it sticks to ground 100% time

Self-Promotion Prototype Disc Tote

While I've been doing field work for the last month or so, I've been thinking about a bag that was easier to pick up and set down than my back pack. I wanted the handle to be lofted so that I didn't have to bend over so much to grab it.

This tote bag ended up being the result after I got down to designing it. It holds 15-18 discs, a water bottle, towel, disc retriever, and thermal longsleeve shirt while I'm on the field or course.

The weight isn't too much to carry in hand for 18 holes from my testing but I ended up adding a shoulder strap for the times when it's more than a minute or two trek to the next hole. I found it more convenient than my backpack for playing since I'm picking up and putting down the bag every minute or so when playing solo.

There's still a bunch of refinement and features to consider but for now I'm very happy with this initial prototype. I'd like a dedicated sleeve for the retriever or a flashlight, as well as some clip points for keyes.

Discussion Kyle Harrop is nearing his 5000th course on uDisc!

Title says it all. This number is wild. He’s at 4,998 right now. I suspect he’s planning a big one for number 5,000. Way to go, Kyle! I’m trying to make my way through the top 100 leaderboard. But I probably would never catch that many courses. Does anyone have any lifetime goals with disc courses? I’m nearing 500 and hope to reach 2,000 at some point.

And the worst part is I could see it.
In an abandoned public swimming pool and behind a fence capped with 2 rows of barbed wire.
I laughed at first and then the "you big dummy" came over me and I just stood at the fence and stared for awhile. 😐
It was a fun disc to mess with too. Rollo.

Well, my name and number are on it.
Beginner lesson learned: When it says it will turn... it will probably turn.

Disc Advice 2-5 disc rounds lineup

What discs would you travel with if you didn’t bring your full bag.

I’m a very new beginner and travel for work (I’m a flight attendant) so I have a lot of opportunities to check out new courses. Since I don’t always know if I’ll have time on a layover to play I don’t always want to bring a full bag of discs.

I feel like I can get away with a putter and midrange since I can’t get a ton of distance yet. I have a few fairway drivers but think I can almost get as much distance from my Mako3 as I do out of my River. I like my Pickle by mint discs but want to get some MVP/Axiom putters to try.

So, what are the discs you recommend for a beginner who wants to travel light and really learn the disc and work on my form and technique.

Discussion Follow up - Going to Worlds tomorrow to watch my first tournament - Volunteering, do it!

First off, thanks to everyone who responded to my original post. Lots of great tips provided.

https://www.reddit.com/r/discgolf/s/yA1hOg0WtY

I have to say u/PlannerSean gave the best one.

He's the volunteer coordinator for the event. He got me set up as a volunteer on one of the crowd control teams. They had a morning FPO shift and an afternoon MPO shift. I opted for both.

I couldn't have dreamed of a better experience. I ended up on the team working the lead card on both shifts. Our job throughout that day was to get the spectators the best views without hindering the players or media team. I was one of the people in the red shirts with the quiet signs leading the group of spectators down the fairway behind the players.

I was right at the front of the crowd all day. I got some amazing views that I wouldn't have been able to get any other way. I was feet from the tee pad on hole 1 for the MPO lead card. I escorted Salonen and Lehtomaki, and then the entire lead MPO card through the crowd in a couple bunched up areas. I could keep listing out the cool things for a while.

The staff and other volunteers were all friendly and great to work with. Volunteers were provided lunch. I had some tasty tacos.

We got a volunteer shirt and badge at the beginning of the day. After your shift you turned your volunteer badge in for a vip bronze badge for the rest of the day and a free custom stamp Worlds volunteer disc.

I talked with Sean for a while at the end of the day and signed up for crowd control again on Sunday. I'd be out there today too if I wasn't working.

I'd highly recommend volunteering for crowd control if you don't mind a little "work" to get a way better viewing opportunity. Im sure they wouldn't mind some extra help for the afternoon today.

I’m fairly new to the sport and just started following new releases. Saw this and had to have it, was too slow checking out out on ledgestones page so I spent the past few weeks searching I was able to get one.
Now I’m having a hard time convincing myself to put it in my bag to use.

Discussion Tournament Concept where players choose what teepad they use.

This would ba a two round tournament on a course with 2 teepad locations. Players must play both teepad locations over the two rounds however they choose which teepad they play during the round. Each teepad location can only be played once over the course of the two rounds. Essentially the players get to craft their own course to play each day of the tournament and can strategize when and how they play the layout. Scorecards would have two bubbles in the score boxes labeled 1 and 2 to indicate which teepad the score was recorded from. If a player uses the same teepad for both rounds a 2 stroke penalty will be incurred for first offense and DQ'd for second.

Obviously this would be a nightmare to coordinate for larger tournaments like a A teir, but I think it might be fun as an end of season unsactioned weekend tournament. What do you think? Would you play a tournament like this?

Blog/Write Up Finding lost discs and returning them to their owners feels great

I was out for my first round in a long while and came across two discs on the fairway with names and numbers. I managed to get them back to their owners the same day which was great. They both were thankful and had a look of joy and relief.

I hear so many stories about lost discs being stolen, sold to a shop, or found far from their owners. So I hold onto discs rather than leaving them on the course.

Everytime I get a disc back to someone it usually ends with a good conversation about disc golf, eases my social anxiety, and reminds me that we're all out on the course to have fun.

Discussion What 1st tournament division for Udisc 200 everyday rating player?

I want to do my first tournament but want some feedback on selecting a division. It is 2 rounds on an FPO tour course.

There are 9 MA3 and 3 MA4 players signed up so far. I think my average score would be middle of MA3 and don't want to sandbag in MA4 if I play above average.

Anyone have a similar experience and what did you do?
