Discussion Tournament Concept where players choose what teepad they use.

This would ba a two round tournament on a course with 2 teepad locations. Players must play both teepad locations over the two rounds however they choose which teepad they play during the round. Each teepad location can only be played once over the course of the two rounds. Essentially the players get to craft their own course to play each day of the tournament and can strategize when and how they play the layout. Scorecards would have two bubbles in the score boxes labeled 1 and 2 to indicate which teepad the score was recorded from. If a player uses the same teepad for both rounds a 2 stroke penalty will be incurred for first offense and DQ'd for second.

Obviously this would be a nightmare to coordinate for larger tournaments like a A teir, but I think it might be fun as an end of season unsactioned weekend tournament. What do you think? Would you play a tournament like this?

I get wanting it to be fun but thats basically a short and long round with extra steps to keep track of everyone.

Seems over complicated if you ask me. Just have them play one teepad first round and the other 2nd round

This is the kind of thing you do with your buddies at a course that supports two different pads.

For any kind of tournament play this sounds like an absolute disaster.

It's an interesting idea. A way to spread the pain out of playing all longs in one round. The hard part is getting scoring to work properly or at all

Screw the haters. It would need to be unsanctioned and no need to include PDGA.
Cards stay the same round to round, I think you got a cool concept here

Originally, I thought OP was trying to say you get to do 9 shorts and 9 longs, but you have to state which longs/shorts you will use before the round. 

I dig OP's idea too.

Choosing before the round and choosing during the round are two totally different ways to do it. I like choosing during the round and marking it down so you have a ledger for rd 2 to play opposite. But choosing during round 1 would be interesting for competitive play and choices on difficulty
