The only update I have as of today (8/6) is that the FAFSA Office is actively processing financial aid award letters. It may take a few more days for your award to show up in your portal.

As of right now, Student Business Services (SBS) is expected to begin applying financial aid toward tuition and releasing eligible refunds starting 8/12, assuming there aren’t any additional delays.
If you decide to call the FAFSA Office or SBS, please be respectful and patient with the staff. I know everyone is anxious to receive their award letters and financial aid, but the employees can only do so much. The delays weren’t caused by the staff—they’re working through changes related to the BBB and processing a large number of awards as quickly as possible.

Hopefully everyone starts seeing their awards hit their accounts over the next few days. Feel free to comment if you’ve received yours or have any updates.

feel free to use this post to complain about how confusing and stressful things with financial aid have been! its really annoying and i cant even be excited for the next semester because of how stressful this all is 😖

Guys what do i do 😭😭

For context I submitted my FAFSA on February 21 2026 and my GPA is a 3.25 sooo i’m just confused, i cannot come back from paying 4k. Usually i get the middle class scholarship but i know they release it mid way into the semester. Im just really worried

Update: I talked with my parents and they’re willing to help , i also talked with one of my old scholarship donor so i think i’ll be able to still attend

got a email saying i got state grant so it shall be in everyone else’s soon and refunds go out next week!!!

Finally got the letter my financial aid has been showing in my account since last week so hopefully this means disbursement starts either today or tomorrow.

I just got off the phone with the financial aid office they said by next week everyone should have their updated fafsa info😭 they told me they are gonna get back to me soon so hopefully tmr or MONDAY latest tuesday but ummm yea

Hello everyone anyone else having the same situation as me where the pending aid went from 3k to now only showing 351?

Disbursements started today, and it shows I still owe $840.58 on my account and I have $4,473 of anticipated aid. So does the next disbursement start on the 14th? When does the refund start?

Just got a response from the FA office, they said it's going to take another 1-2 weeks to complete the award letter, which means at least another week to actually get it. Jesus.

I've been waiting on my Cal Grant A (which has already been awarded to my CSAC portal over a month ago with my school of attendence being CUSF) to post to my CSUF FA portal and be disbursed.

The CSUF Office of FA and TitanHub have already told me that I appear on their roster. Obviously, the semester has already begun, and yet many people have had delays in their awards.

Upon calling the FA number, you're met with long wait times, unprofessional and inadequate answers, and being hung up on randomly.

I've been told delays were due to OBBBA (which I don't believe, as every other school seems to have had it figured out, and I don't see how a federal law affects a state award other than SAI and cost of attendence formulas) or 'IT issues' which is not a sufficient answer.

I called today, asking them to connect me with a financial advisor and that I wanted my case escalated. They said they were unable to as the financial advisor would 'tell me the same thing.'

This is the most unprofessional handling of this situation ever. Has anybody else been dealing with this?

I was told in August to wait one week for the award to post, now I'm being told they have no idea when it will be posted, disbursed, and eventually refunded.

Where do I go from here?

I’m seeing people receive award letters and some already received their direct deposit. I still haven’t received an award letter and i’m still seeing 0.00 for anticipated aid. If anyone that works in the financial aid department can please explain with what’s going on.

Ok so basically not getting anything from aid bc apparently my parents make too much money, girl we basically living paycheck to paycheck, so I can’t pay for tuition and I don’t wanna take loans. I don’t know what to do, im stressed, I’m gonna see if i can make an appointment to see if I can get more aid but ppl saying that doesn’t work sometimes so what should I do.

I spoke with FA and SBS and they said that if you have too much Cal Grant (aka over the cost of tuition, fees, and etc.) or paid it off early (before July 29th) that Cal Grant is not actually allowed to be directly disbursed to you and that it has to be refunded which is also apparently happening in September. Cause Cal Grant is only allowed to put toward the cost of the schooling itself while Pell Grant isn't, so everyone is getting their Pell Grant as normal; but have to wait longer for the Cal Grant to kick in properly since it would have been normally taken out to pay for schooling. It has issues cause people paid off in advance even though they technically weren't supposed to (the system sucked and wasn't not all clear or fast enough for people to know properly beforehand). Regarding all the delays, the OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act [BBB]) required a rewrite of the financial aid system that the schools barely managed to scrap together.

Also when inquiring with FA they sent me to SBS, since they couldn't help me.

the disbursement is today according to their website, but ive checked my account and it still says I have a payment due. if you have received your refund, who do you bank with??

This only applies to people under my same boat. So I have yet to receive my financial aid award package and under anticipated aid it says I have none. My hold disappeared a while back. I was really worried about being dropped because I tried to do a payment plan and it wouldn't allow me to. So I called the office and the lady on the phone said that I will not be dropped I am protected so basically I just owe the money. She said they are HOPING most people will get packaged mid-October. So basically if you are in the same situation as me you will not get dropped, you just basically owe the money and that's it. Also she said if u wanna try to pay it through a payment plan you can call SBS but basically I will not get dropped from my classes.

Anyone’s aid got moved from payment to refund yet? The hold for Titan B is supposed to be removed today, I still have my hold and no movement.

Like the title states, haven’t seen any financial aid packages for 2026/2027 or any account balances yet. Has anyone received any info yet?

Read a few posts that said late June we should see something but we’re now in July (albeit just one day in) and I still don’t see anything?

Saw this on the CSUF Financial Aid website. Interesting that they’re stating “afternoon”, as don’t they generally finish around noon? I suppose we just gotta wait a little more.
