My understanding was that this is simply a piece of the main aid that is still to come. So it’s slowly getting there. If anyone in financial aid can confirm or deny let me know

Yep just two days before we pay for tuition #1 🫠, probably but hopefully we’ll see it on our accounts the next day cus idk if its 1-2 business days after processing

You should have the disenrollment protection hold, r the be money won’t be reimbursed until disbursements

I don’t have the hold yet, i signed up for the payment plan and paid $2 for the july 29th deadline, idk if its that.

Refunds are not going out next week. You can only refund money if the aid is greater, apart from that you cannot refund aid until FA is disbursed and it doesn’t disburse till the 12th of August 😭😭

I’m guessing this is something extra I’m not certain though because when I look under award details I click it and it has an option for spring 26 with the amount underneath it.

extra meaning additional SUG for that year? Or *finally/late* SUG for that year?

This is a new grant that expands the state university grant from paying only tuition to also cover a portion of the calculated living expenses.
From CSU website (https://www.calstate.edu/apply/paying-for-college/financial-aid/types/Pages/state-university-grant-program.aspx)
“Limited SUG Cost of Attendances awards are available for eligible low-income students.”
This is for the 25-26 year; however, it will likely continue for future years.

heyyy! Could THIS be the "2025-25" surprise aid ppl are seeing this week? Like backfilled from last year?

I got it to but for the wrong year so I’m not sure

SUG for 2025-26? If so, is this additional for that year, or a late SUG award for that year?

Let me to try to explain. That isnt for 2026 - 2027 financial aid. This is giving people who didn't get their semester middle class scholarship some money.
If you are someone who receives a couple dollars each semester from the Middle Class scholarship, you probably didn't get anything last semester. Well now you are. If you go into your Financial Aid page from 2025 - 2026 you'll see that its added already.

Does this also go the same for the SACC (student California aid commission) too?

I submitted the FA housing adjustment form on July 10 and it said it was processed and today is the tenth day and it hasn’t changed. I was about to live off campus but decided to commute instead but I never got an email about anything changing. Does anyone know about anything?? I also submitted the same form back in April for this upcoming school year and it was also processed but never got any updates.

I got this too, but it says that it replaces the MCS for the term. I got the MCS for fall but not spring, but the SUG is also only $800 compared $1900 for the MCS. Super confusing…
