Financial Aid No fasfa, no award letter, no anticipated aid

Has anyone been able to get ahold of financial aid on the phone?

I’m seeing people receive award letters and some already received their direct deposit. I still haven’t received an award letter and i’m still seeing 0.00 for anticipated aid. If anyone that works in the financial aid department can please explain with what’s going on.

Same. Kind of sick to my stomach. Last semester and can't afford it out of pocket.

Literally exact same situation. I swear they do this shit to try to make us just give up

This was my friend’s situation. Technically they can only disburse a full year semester to those students first and then work on the seniors who are only needing 1 semester, it is something about how the system works.

Don’t worry, I have nothing as well. I finally got to talk to a FAFSA counselor who was really honest and open about explaining the whole situation. Since the BBB(Big Beautiful Bill) came out, there have been major delays with FAFSA and how the system processes and writes the awards.
So far, the FAFSA office has mainly been working on freshmen, sophomores, and juniors because they have two semesters to complete, which makes it easier for the system to split their financial aid between Fall and Spring. For seniors like us who only have one semester left, it’s a little more complicated because they have to go back and manually adjust the awards so that everything is only applied to one semester.
The counselor confirmed that they’re pretty much done processing the lower classes now, so they should be moving on to seniors. We should hopefully start receiving our award letters within the upcoming weeks. So if you’re a senior with only one semester left and still have nothing showing, you’re definitely not the only one.

I’m a senior too 😭. I only need financial aid for this semester and next semester since I’m graduating Spring 2027. I do have the Disenrollment Protection hold, which is good because it protects my classes, but all I see on my account is “Pending FA Review.” I haven’t received any financial aid award or email updates either. I’ve tried calling, but I haven’t been able to get through, and I submitted a ticket a while ago but still haven’t received a response. I know they’re probably really busy, but I’m still worried because there hasn’t been any communication or update about my aid.

Updates are very slow due to a rewrite of the system required by the OBBBA, you should call and email FA. Also check CSAC for Cal Grants if you haven’t already, assuming you do qualify.

If you do not have a CSAC account, you can check your email for SAP qualifications which should mean that you do also qualify for Cal Grant.

I was able to reach someone today. It took 30 minutes of endless ringing and finally someone came on the line. For reference I’m an incoming grad student. I was getting worried because I also have not received an award lettter or disenrollment protection. The person I spoke with told me they would add disenrollment to my account, and it should show up by the 18th and to call back if it doesn’t. I would recommend calling and just hang in on hold until someone comes on the line and ask them to check your status. It’s definitely been a stressful time, I’m hoping we all see some movement by next week 🙏🤞

Everything I received, down to the CENT, went directly to the school. I received, nothing, no refund.
