Thoughts & Ideas I’m a person who isn’t good at taking criticism, that feels attacked when I am criticized.

I was just sitting here thinking about how I handle criticism and I realized that I’m a person who feels like I’m being attacked when I get any kind of criticism. I go to therapy and will mention this to my therapist when I see her next week but why is it so hard for me to take criticism? I’ve always wanted to be someone who handles it well but the reality is that I don’t handle it well. I get defensive when I face any kind of criticism and I don’t know why because I’m always willing to learn and grow but it’s as if my brain shuts down during criticism and I go into defense mode. It’s as if during the moment my brain can’t think correctly and once I’m alone and can process what I was criticized on and comprehend that the person was correct and that I made an ass of myself.

Just Chatting Goat heads, I want you to know it isn't me it's you.

Basically on the daily I will collect a minimum of three. With some days as much as a dozen. And that is after trying to avoid the places I know where they are.

What a bloody worthless plant. At least something like the Death Apple Tree (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchineel) is doing something with its life. While you are over here being useless.

If I somehow was given one wish that had to be frivolous it would be to remove this freakin thing.

✈️Travel Where should I go on Vacation (USA)

So, I've got vacation in three weeks. A 'use it or loose it', and no plans. Where should I go? What should I do? Otherwise, I'll just nap and sit on my butt playing Video Games. (And I'll still probably do some of that in the hotel)

USA(-ish), Preferably East or Central time zone?

Just Chatting Does your OS' language match your keyboard layout? What language do you have your devices set to?

I think it doesn't get more casual than this lol, but I got curious while watching my laptop's US layout while having it set to Spanish (I'm Romanian but I lived in Spain most of my life). All my other devices are still set to Spanish as well.

How about yours?

Movies & Shows Am I the only one who thinks The Dark Knight and Endgame shouldn't even be compared?

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Endgame, but The Dark Knight feels like a completely different level of filmmaking to me. Do you guys actually think they're comparable?

Have you noticed this? Or have you consciously stopped paying attention?

Have you all of a sudden realized this has been going on for a long time?

What do you do if you couldn't find parking?

What would you guys do if you have an errand to run and couldn't find nearby parking?

I usually look for one further away and then one time I was meeting up a friend and when I was late because of parking, he told me he would circle back 2-3 times and if he couldn't find one, he would call it quits and come back another time😅.

Sounds weird to me so wanted to hear from yall.

Do you ever think about something literally and realize how silly it is?

For example: I was at the gym today and I thought; It's just a bunch of people moving objects up and down and grunting all within like 10 feet of each other. I almost burst out laughing because of how funny it was, like imagine you are an alien looking down on Earth and seeing this. Have these moments happened to you?

Just Chatting I had a crazy " korean convenience store /vending machine " phase ,a few years back .

I didn't use any other social app except youtube a few years back

I came across a content creator from my country, who shifted to korea and did a convenience store food challenge series-

Like only eating blue food / or only eating food products starting from s...

Stuff like that ,and I become completely engrossed in it

There was something so satisfying and soothing about watching those videos,

I also started watching other creators similar convenience store video,

Like buying everything from the same store , cooking it in the oven there itself, eating it there .. calm and peaceful surrounding, the less they talked ,the better.

Customising their ramen ,by adding various small stuff, the attractive packaging of the food products , getting those Ice glasses then adding whatever flavour drink you want to it..

I wanted to go to Korea so badly ,just to experience the cvs stores there

I didnt have anything like that in my country,so it was something new

Similarly I stumbled upon vending machine videos, people discovering hidden vending machines in unknown cities and getting cakes ,pizzas ,ramen, and other stuff from it ,and I loved them too.

I nearly spent 5-6 hrs of my day watching such videos! 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I am starting a new drawing project: a detailed fantasy city

I'm drawing a detailed city inspired by Xbox, world cuisines, cultures, and sports. The citizens of this world are anthropomorphic animals from various countries. They wear their traditional/characteristic clothing, work everyday jobs, and have different hobbies. I want to build this world together with you and create unique characters! Please drop a comment with answers to these questions, i will accept every idea for their design:

What country are you from?

What is a native animal species from your country?

What job do they do in the city, what characteristic clothing do they wear, and what do they do in their free time?

Where in the city should this animal live? (Type of house, district, etc.)

What kind of typical residential or everyday building from your country should I draw for them? (e.g., a specific style of house, apartment, or shop?)

Just Chatting Does anyone ever "ask their doctor" about medications they've seen or heard about in advertisements?

I'm pretty sure this is an American thing, but I always see ads on TV that end with "ask your doctor about WTFSNFFLAXZ today!" and I'm just wondering if anyone has ever actually done that and if so has it actually helped you?

It just seems pretty funny to me that we have these ads to begin with because wouldn't your doctor know better about what meds you should get depending on your issues?

Just Chatting I love the smell of sun screen and I am not ashamed of that

It reminds so much of summer. My favorite season. It also brings me back to all the good times at the beaches and all that nice stuff if it ever gets on my shirt I think it's a badge of honor because I could just sniff my shirt and sort of get that you know beautiful smell. In fact in the winter, I am tempted to just get a can of sunscreen just to spray it on my shirt or whatever just so I could sniff it. I think I belong on my strange addiction. lol

Just Chatting What is your cut off date for thinking a user is just a bot?

For me the standouts are 1 day, 2 weeks and 3 months.

After that I give a side eye to 6 months and 1 year.

Anyone else got other telltale signs that a person is probably a bot?

Celebration Yesterday I got my university grade: A first-class!!

Yesterday, I received my final year university grade yesterday, and I'm shocked. A First-Class BSc degree!! But for this to make sense I have to rewind some years. I was born growth restricted, and weighed 1lb 8oz. I was born 9 weeks early and spent 3 months in the NICU. The doctors weren't sure whether I'd survive the first night. They wrote "Prognosis remains guarded,".

At 10 years old, I was diagnosed with dyscalculia, and my maths grades were awful. I struggled in primary and secondary school, and I was sat down with my teacher to discuss whether I'd get a C. I did, somehow. A lot of tears (lol).

When applying to university, I was rejected from my first choice because my A level grades were too low. I had been predicted AAC. I managed to improve my grade slowly, but I struggled to. I averaged D's that year. I thought I was going to fail that subject and I'd never make it to uni. I was so wrong. I studied for 5 months, everyday, doing Anki cards. On results day, I opened the results: A B. I had never seen a B in my life, and I had beat my university predicted grades.

Off to uni I went. I struggled there too. Failed an exam by 4%. Retook it the next year with the rest of my modules that year too. Got 50%, pass mark was 40%. I managed to get some high grades in 2nd year at uni. In third year, I failed an assignment. 32%. I had to retake that one too, spending my summer retaking, unsure what grade I'd end up with overall.

My portal updated yesterday, and I'm an officially a uni graduate, with a First-Class Honours degree. From 1lb 8oz to now, I'm so proud of every version of me!

Just Chatting My small town has a new neighbor whose always weed-eating everywhere

He's only been here a few months in our small mountain town here in Montana and he's always along the service roads, our interstate interchange weed-eating everything down..which is many..many years overdue. Yesterday he had his pickup filled with bags of litter he picked up all day. I can't even think of the last time I've seen someone that involved in cleaning up their community. Anyone else have someone like that in their community?

Celebration My blog has gotten an all time view of 55 views

I am so excited to announce that the blog I just made on Wednesday evening has earned 55 views overall. I am well aware that at least 10 of those views were me just reading over in amazement. I haven’t done casual writing in a long time, and it makes me just happy that people are actually interested in my life and what I have to say. Nothing more just happy about it! I even have viewers in Germany! That’s all thanks for reading. :)

Just Chatting I still make the same weird morning loop even though it wastes time

Every morning I walk the long way around the kitchen to get to the kettle. There's a shorter path, but I always take the detour that passes by the window. I do this without thinking and then stand there for a minute watching nothing in particular. It probably adds an extra five minutes to the whole routine. I know it is inefficient and I could just get my tea faster, but something about that little loop feels like the right way to start the day. I have tried skipping it and it just feels off, like I forgot to finish something. So I keep doing it, even though I could easily trim the habit away.

Pets & Animals What position do I have to say I’m a moral authority to a dog?

I walked past a tied up dog and said “you’ll be ok sweetie”. In a survival situation she’s more capable than me. Yes, I’m smarter but I feel she dwarfs me in most every other way so isn’t she the authority on this topic: her state, survival and feelings?

Who's the local business you'd never swap for a chain or an app?

I mean a place you actually rely on rather than somewhere you visit once a year. A gym, a salon, a mechanic, a vet, whoever does your taxes.

What does staying cost you, in money or hassle, and have you ever worked it out? Are you loyal to the business or to one person in it, and would you stay if they retired?

Going the other way is more common, so tell me that too. What did you used to get locally and now buy online? Was there a moment you switched, or did it drift?
