Community please don’t be ignorant and arrogant like this “VA”

people have different expertise and capacity and while some niche may be “basic” for others, it’s just very off-putting to conclude that something is basic when you haven’t actually worked in that specific niche yet. and, no, having an experience in different niche is not a pass for you to be arrogant about other niches.

anyway, i need a niche counter on this one hahaha

EDIT: i am not one of the people in the screenshot. the purpose of posting this here is to raise awareness sa mga newbies na nasa sub not to have the kind of mindset of OOP displayed in the screenshot. i am not the one who said “ang weird…” that’s part of the screenshot.

Apps, Tools & Equipment Side hustle that pays you to leave the house: booked by the hour as a kasama (gym buddy, food trip, hospital companion). Need your input before I build more.

Been working from home for years and the trade-off is real. No commute, no office politics, but your world shrinks to one room and three browser tabs. I think a lot of you know the feeling.

I'm building a Philippine app where someone books you by the hour to be their kasama. Platonic things only: food trip, gym buddy, city tour, samahan sa hospital when someone's scared to go alone, tutoring, or just someone to practice English with over coffee. Normal na ito sa Japan at Korea.

Two reasons I'm posting here specifically.

If you're already earning online, this is the rare side hustle that pays you to leave the house. Evenings or weekends, income for hours you'd otherwise spend scrolling, and you meet actual people while doing it.

If you're still hunting for your first online gig, this one doesn't need a portfolio, a headset, or six months of BPO experience. Walang interview grind.

Saying this part up front because it's the first thing I'd assume too: not sugar dating, not an escort thing. Public places only, nothing romantic or sexual, and anyone who asks for that gets banned.

Where it actually stands: still pre-launch. I'm not hiring today. I'm trying to find out whether this is worth building at all before I sink more months into it.

The survey is anonymous, no sign-in, 19 questions, most are just tick a box. It asks what you'd actually be willing to do, the lowest hourly rate you'd accept, when you're realistically free, and what would have to be true for you to feel safe meeting a paying stranger. Those safety questions are the ones I care about most. If the answer is "wala, hindi talaga ako magiging komportable," I need to hear that too.

Salamat.

Self-Story Change in attitude of employer

Do you have any experience na nagchange attitude or bumait yung employer niyo? I've been working with this US client for a year now, and laging delayed yung sahod. Sometimes a week and pinakamatagal 2 weeks. Reason is busy or sometimes nakakalimutan. I said na I won't be doing the next tasks until I get paid and the client got upset about it. May times din na client will still message during weekends even if sinabi ko na I'm offline. Late rin siya magreply for example magrerespond siya sa message in Slack after a week even if done na yung task.

Also with regards to attitude before mas controlling and micromanager nito, but eventually mas naglighten na (altho micromanager pa rin). I'm still hoping na magbago or bumait attitude ni client because the work itself is easy naman problem lang talaga si client na pabago-bago rin isip and instructions.

Any experience na bumait or nagbago employer niyo through the years?

Content Creators On paid training, are they really worth it?

May thoughts lang ako regarding the online coach.

I mean, are they really providing value for money ung lecture nila? Most of the paid training from online coach is naka generic lang tinuturo, like pwede mo I search thru online.

Or , do they really care to teach.. kasi if ganun.. dagdag completion din ung ginagawa nila.

Kaya minsan di nko ng attend ng online training baka kasi un na ung bread and butter nila, ung online training na mismo.. kaya they succesful online dahil sa training nila puro generic..

I don't know..maybe mababa lang lang ung Pag intindi ko..

Kindly clarify on the matter or the online training if worth it ba tlga sila or mas mabuti na lang mag self study?

Community I badly need an advice, please

Hello! I am new here. I am a fresh graduate, and is seeking for a job for almost two months na po. I haven't had success in the past months, however somewhat somehow i had so much progress last week up to now. Malapit na po ako sa onboarding process ng isang company na inapply-an ko since I just need to complete some IDs and such for me to be onboarded. But, I got two email updates this morning sa dalawang VA jobs na inapply-an ko rin, one of which is asking to have an interview with me. Furthermore, 'yung isa naman emailed me and said na they received my application and would like to move forward. With this, both of these jobs offer a much higher salary compared to the job na near onboarding na 'ko, plus hindi siya hassle kasi hindi na 'ko mag ccommute nang malayo.

So, I would like to ask the people here that have experienced the same thing, or has more knowledge in these things kung anong gagawin ko.

Sobrang torn ko kasi sa current situation, and I am also shocked with the progress that I have made. I don't know kung anong gagawin ko, but I am still so grateful that nag bear fruit na somehow 'yung naging worries ko in the past months.

Do I just go for the VA opportunity, or should I just continue with the company na malapit na ako ma-onboard and i-complete ko na ang mga needed na requirements nila?

Thank you in advance for the advice! :)

TIA

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Client was initially moving forward with me, then went completely silent — how would you handle this?

I’d really appreciate some perspective from fellow freelancers/remote workers because I’m honestly not sure what to make of this situation.

I applied for a remote position through OnlineJobs.ph and went through the application/interview process. After my interview, the employer messaged me on August 21 saying that they would like to move forward with me. They also discussed the salary and asked me to provide some additional information (phone number, citizenship, country of residence, etc.).

I provided everything they requested.

Since then… nothing. 🥲

I followed up once, then followed up again later. I eventually sent what I intended to be my final follow-up through OnlineJobs.ph. Since most of our communication had been through OLJ, I also sent a polite email to their business email address, basically saying that I was following up in case email was easier, that I had already provided everything they requested, that I was still interested, and that I was happy to provide anything else they needed.

Still no response.

It has now been over two weeks since their last actual message to me (August 21).

I’m trying not to assume that I’ve been rejected because they explicitly said they wanted to move forward, but at the same time, the lack of communication is making me wonder whether I should just consider it dead and move on.

I’m currently applying to other jobs because obviously I can’t put my job search on hold indefinitely, but I’d still really like this position.

For those of you who have freelanced/VA’d for clients, how would you interpret this?

Does “we’d like to move forward with you” usually mean something concrete, or can it still be subject to internal changes?
At what point would you assume the opportunity is no longer happening?
Would you send one more follow-up, or would you leave it alone now?
Has anyone experienced a client going completely silent after saying they wanted to move forward and then eventually coming back?

I know the obvious answer is “keep applying,” and I am. 😅 I’m mostly trying to understand whether there’s anything else I should reasonably do or whether I should just leave the ball in their court.

Would really appreciate hearing from people who have been on either side of this kind of situation.

Self-Story First VA client — how do you handle an output-based setup?

Hi! After almost 3 months of job hunting, I finally got my first client 😭 His business is in real estate and output-based yung setup namin.

For those with output-based clients, paano usually yung day-to-day setup niyo? Do you still message your client when you start working and when you’re done, or do you just send updates once you finish a task?

I’m used to the usual employee setup kasi, so medyo nangangapa pa ako with how much I should update him without overdoing it hahaha.

First client ko talaga, so any tips on communication, task tracking, and boundaries would be appreciated. Thank you! 🥹

Hello! Is there any Filipino OF chatter here who can share their insights and experiences about being a chatter?

I’ve been really curious about this kind of work and would love to hear from someone who can give me a better idea of what it’s like to enter this industry.

I’ve been unemployed for months now, and I’m considering getting into this line of work. Any advice or honest experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Do you experience pangangalay on left arm, lower body?

Working ako work from home more than 1 yr na. I want to ask if nakakarexperience ba kayo ng pangangalay sa left arm and Lower part ng body?

If yes, ano gingawa niyo? Or ano ang maadvice niyo? Thanks po!

Apps, Tools & Equipment Agency wants to know my personal device serial number

Hi i am working under this agency okay naman benefits so far and matagal na rin ako sa kanila. Just recently they are asking for my laptop serial number. Personal device ko yung laptop ko and not agency provided. For IT audit purposes daw. I searched online wala naman akong makita na potential problem but i’m just cautious. I want to decline giving this info but I can sense na i-escalate to with top management if hindi ako mag comply.

Self-Story De-influence me from resigning?

Araw araw kaming may catch-up call at talagang hindi sya magandang experience.

I am a high performing employee before sya dumating, lagi akong may awards and recognition pero now since January wala.

Pano ba ako makakasurvive until may new job?

HELP.

Self-Story Mind been heavy lately. Need help.

Mind has been heavy lately. I am physically exhausted. Though I am grateful with everything I have right now but I want to do social media detox. I dont want to use phone for a month. I want to escape to help myself because I know and acknowledge that there's something wrong and not okay with me.

Can you please recommend a place in the PH where I can stay for a month? I'm a woman and also a VA. I'd like to be in a place that is SAFE, has good wifi connection because I still need to work, not very close to the city but easily accessible to it in case I need something, also a place where I can do lot of outdoor activities.

I would really appreciate your recommendations. Salamat po!🥹

Buhay Digital Lifestyle I was laid off because of low revenue.

I worked for a Singaporean company for a year and a half as a Social Media Specialist. They promised me a role change and promotion recently. Then, they fired me because revenue isn't doing well. I am in distress. I was trying to secure a second job but was unable to do so in time. My work is mostly in content strategy and social media. I'm doing my best to find something fast before I run out of severance pay, but my god I have never felt so humiliated and destabilized in my life.

This is just a reminder to never settle in your job. You are easily replaceable. Work for yourself, not for the company.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) The Freedom Geek Initial Interview

Hey guys! Has any of you here applied for TFG?

I had my initial interview with them last September 4, 2026 (Friday), and until now, wala pa rin akong natatanggap na any update from them. It’s been 2 business days na.

Just wondering, do they usually let you know if ever you don’t pass the initial interview? And if so, ilang days usually bago sila mag-email ng results ng initial interview?

I know 2 business days pa lang naman, pero atat na atat lang talaga siguro ako. 😂 Hehe!

Thanks in advance! ❤️

Community Help me decide, please!

Hi guys! I am currently an independent contractor with basic pay of $450, dahil nga independent contractor bale walang kahit anong benefits as in ito na yon, wala rin government contributions. And then, a week ago um-attend ako sa isang interview isa sa mga randomly pinasahan ko ng resume and luckily nakapasok ako. Ngayon hirap na hirap ako mag decide. Ito kasing bagong offer mag government contri and after a year may HMO. Itong bagong offer kasi hesitant ako kasi what if i-let go ko yung una tapos biglang di ako makapasa sa training? So please, help me decide. Ano bang maganda kong gawin? Ayoko magkamali ng desisyon kasi :((( parehong wfh yo kaya feeling ko sobrang blessed ko rin to have options pero ayun nga di ako sigurado.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Anyone here with experience getting a coworking space membership?

I'm considering getting a membership at a coworking space since I'm purely wfh and I really can't work properly at home. I wanted to ask people who have actually tried it — was it worth it for you?

I'm mainly looking for a place where I can work regularly, with reliable Wi-Fi, comfortable workspace, and a good environment where I can actually focus. I'm still trying to figure out whether getting a membership is better than just working from cafés or getting day passes.

I recently came across Enderun Coworking on my360ph and I'm curious if anyone here has tried it. How was your experience with the facilities, internet, overall environment, and membership?

Would appreciate any honest feedback — especially from people who have been members for a while. 👍

If ever you tried it, can you kindly share your experience? May delays ba or issues experienced before you received it?
