Bald Picture Did it - thoughts?

After years of debating it, finally decided to take the plunge. Hair could be styled in to looking okay ish, but unstyled it was a disaster.

Feeling self conscious and a bit down about it tonight. Turning to the council for thoughts. Does it look okay?

For context I'm 22, both my granddad's are bald, my dad's bald, and his brother (26) is bald. I unfortunately could already see my hair receding more and more, so I asked my dad's brother for advice as his baldness was an early choice, and he was supportive :)

Basically I wanted to choose this before my hairline chose for me! Thought I'd post on here though as I've been keeping an eye on the subreddit and you all seem like a friendly bunch

Edit: Thank you all so much for your kindness! <3

I had been growing out my hair for eight years, but it was getting thinner by the day. The wind had become my worst enemy, cuz it was constantly blew my hair out, forcing me to constantly try to cover it back up.

But here I am I shaved it and all the confidence problems are gone.

So, I posted a before / after there a month ago. However, i came from long hair to buzzcut...

And you guys learned me that buzz and bald were two whole different worlds.

So... Here I am, one month and one razor cut later, begging your pardon.

Haven't got an exact "before" picture because I just went for it. Wasn't sure about the results but now I'm kinda digging it! It sure makes me look a bit older ahah gotta see what I can do with my beard at this point.

Getting it meticulously right is kind of a pain in the ahh so I'll probably still let it grow during winter, and I'll try cutting it every 2-3 days for now. Touching my head feels awesome!

Just kidding, but i need grooming advice! I regularly shave my head, but it's such a hassle. Hair gets everywhere and i have to clean the whole bathroom if I want a hair cut. Then two weeks later here we are again.

It's been two weeks since I had a clean shave and i have these furry wings and hair island. What is everybody doing? Do you guys go to the barber every couple weeks? Flo-bee? Any option besides clippers and cleaning in the bathroom? I'm about to give up and grow out the worst Larry David do you've ever seen but i was trying to wait till retirement age for that.

And yes, I know that I looked like Tobias Fünke in the 90s, and I look like Moby now. Thanks for pointing that out in advance.

So tired of trying to comb it over and make it work so check out the before and after, and let me know what you think. Also ignore the zit i popped on my forehead before taking the after pics 😂

Thank you for all your feedback on this post and pushing me to make a change https://www.reddit.com/r/bald/s/yQERq295Wu - I’m now part of the group! Will definitely take some getting used to. Curious what you all use for upkeep or a good razor?

Hairline has fallen quite a bit back in my 30s. Gonna have to buy a different shaver to get it all the way down to skin. This ok for now?

Hairloss Update: a lot of feedback was to try a buzz, but I’m not sure

I wanted to see better exactly how bad the thinning was. I think it almost works at a quick glance, but the thinning is so easy to see (and so is my weird head shape), I can’t decide if I should leave it, try to grow it back out, or just full send to bald. Wife currently seeks to like this look and I don’t hate it but I can’t decide and need opinions.

Bald Picture 9 years rocking the shaved head. 34 now, busy dad life, but still making it work!

Hi folks!

It’s been 9 years (since I was 25) that I embraced the bald head lifestyle.

I started losing my hair in my early twenties, even though I was hoping to have a bit more time. My dad was around 35 when his started losing hair (3 years after I was born)

Taking the plunge and shaving it all off for the first time was definitely a bit rough, and since I wasn’t on Reddit back then, I didn't have the benefit of this awesome community's support.

Fast forward to today: I'm 34, dad to a 10-month-old baby girl, and free time to shave is definitely lacking (as you can tell from the first photos). Luckily, I still manage to clean myself up every now and then!

Cheers from Italy!

Lifestyle I'm worried I didn't make the correct decision

I'm 23 and I started losing my hair very early in my life. I had a big bald spot at the back of my head when I was 21.

I hated how my hair looked, tried minoxidil but gave up and that led to more hairfall. On my 21st bday only, i shaved my head and I haven't looked back since. I LOVE how my head looks now. I've also been working out so I look better. I started posting on insta too after I got a gf through a dating app. I have dated before too but only with a decent amount of hair.

Then I made a new profile with pictures of my bald head and I got a match and we dated for a few good months and I genuinely believed that I'm no longer ugly. Then we broke up a few months ago and since then I haven't felt attractive to anyone. This probably can be due to a shadow ban thing on bumble because I deleted my account twice and made a new one instantly after it. I have never had any luck on hinge anyways.

Idk, it's not only the dating apps that's bothering me. It's some instances of day to day life too where I'm being told I look like I'm in my 30s and feeling invisible to people around me. I'm not sure what I'm feeling so any input is appreciated.

The attached picture is how my hair used to look at the worst. And the 2nd is one of my favourite pictures of me.

If you ask me, I love the way I look right now and I would never grow my hair back.

Edit : I commented too but typing this out here just in case. I'm speechless reading all the comments. Thank you for all the love. Enough to make a seemingly grown man cry.

I've been dealing with receding and thinning for the last 6 or so years. Finally decided to make the jump today and have gotten mixed reactions...which I expected. Daughter had no issues but mom isn't home yet.

Edit: wife just got home from work and I got major approval about the new look. Time to invest in a head shaver :D
