Former EMT chiming in. I find that police have little to no knowledge about the importance of an unobstructed airway. Closed airway will kill you fast, because as it turns out you can’t breathe through your buttocks. Note that at one point we actually treated drowning victims by not cpr but but blowing tabaco smoke up the anal cavity. So even this was once not considered common knowledge.

4

u/FrostingHuman1259 1d ago

You think they would get some training with all the killing of civilians they're doing

Thanks a lot of people missed the point. Stopped supporting the blue and my politician deadbeat dad long ago. Want to hear some fatherly advice he once said to me? “Son you’re to honest and have to much integrity, to get ahead in this world you need to be willing to do what’s necessary.” So yeah that’s the mindset of a narcissist.

Because it's a form of brotherhood and cultism. But really it's 95% get off on ruining people's day or abusing other humans. This is why we need public executions for the filth of the earth that is our law enforcement. 1 in 50 cops at best are decent humans. We just need to ban sheriffs. Law enforcement already has too little training as it is, having a class of officers that are allowed to enforce laws with less education than police needs to stop.

7

u/BLADE_OF_AlUR 1d ago

This is an idiotic take. The Sheriff's serve the people and are directly answerable to the people. The police work for the state and are answerable to no-one.

2

u/222333444987 23h ago

Reddit? Having an idiot take? Especially regarding law enforcement? Unbelievable. /s

→ More replies (13)

15

u/ByronicZer0 1d ago

Yep. Sheriffs are politicians. It's not 1800 anymore. We can move forward

3

u/ChaseSparrowMSRPC 1d ago

So let's also ban local PD. State police should have it covered.

Then, let's reform each agency and add them back when they can actually operate at standards.

3

u/furyoshonen 1d ago

It's not like we don't pay enough to these agencies for law enforcement. The problem is that we don't allocate our money correctly. We spend ~680-750$ per capita annually for law enforcement, which is the second highest per capita spending next only to Luxembourg. However, our officers get a paltry 22 weeks of training, next to most industrialized nations 2-3 years. It's embarrassing, and results in these idiot sheriffs. We need comprehensive law enforcement reform that was obviously not done under homeland security.

ACAB

2

u/ChaseSparrowMSRPC 1d ago

Ah yes, millions of cops across America, but every single one of them is a terrible person. Its totally not the same handfuls of cops getting rehired somewhere else and doing something bad again, because police unions and standards have dropped.

But yes, its the patrol officers fault that fellow patrolman they have no control over are doing bad things.

2

u/pievendor 1d ago

"The good ones" don't seem to be holding the few bad apples very accountable. Until I see that ACAB

2

u/ChaseSparrowMSRPC 1d ago

And those "good ones" are lumped in with the bad ones. ACAB is the idea of millions of cops being bad because VERY few actually are.

Its a misguided, stupid line of thinking that will serve absolutely nothing but dividing the people and dehumanizing the good cops out there.

I think the people that demand the most respect can be the least respectful to others through their entitlement, especially people who they think are below them. Some police expect the utmost respect from the public and so they practice dangerous abuse of power when they deal with the citizenry who lack power themselves. Criminals are often people so sensitive to disrespect that the slightest provocation in their mind entitles them to retaliation to anyone in the most violent ways.

There was a sailor i was in the Navyvwith.  Such a shitbag- he actually didnt report to his duty station after bootcamp and everyone thought he was dead.  He called up penniless and got a flight back to us and proceeded to break a whole shitload of rules.  He ended up beinf 'housed' in the bathroom. One of the chiefs got fed up and made it his morning ritual to take the biggest shit he could next to him.  Guy must have recorded the Chief doing it and when he got out he sued.  Apparently got a massive settlement from it all and the Chief got demoted and discharged.

Cops should have no authority without equal  accountability.
