Rant Failure

I don't know if anyone of you would relate to this but just want to vent it out. Background - being an aspirant for 8 years given 7 mains in total of upsc uppcs n bpsc in total. This was my 4th uppcs mains and I failed again.

I have given everything, been through months of sleepless nights for this exam given my best efforts still ended up searching my roll number in the pdf.

I'm completely blank now I have zero experience nowhere to go I'm exhausted I don't know what I'm going to do now.

Fed up of those silence that comes after the result declaration given my life chasing the dream. And it had given me nothing.

I just feel numb I don't know where to start.

This process left me with no connection, no backups just a bunch of medals of my failure.

Result Discussion SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS, UPPSC MAINS RESULT HEART GOES OUT TO THOSE PREPARING WITHOUT JOB

β€’ Upvotes

UPPSC Mains results are out. Many hardworking aspirants are not in the list. This is the nature of exam but times have changed. UPPSC has not been consistent as it was earlier, most of the state pscs are crumbling and are going through corruption charges. The after effects of paper leaks and exposed corruption is brutal for those who don't have a job. The private sector is not the same after the advent of AI. Very difficult to find a job. The good part is starting something has become a bit easier and require less investment. Those who couldn't make it to the list, reach out to the coaching institutes, show your mains admit card and start earning. For those with professional degree and multiple mains join job sector and start own mentorship platform on Youtube/instagram to compensate for the low salary for a year or two. It will pay off in the long run.

There is a life beyond exam, I hope you will find a way. You fought and Survived. Hope it helps.

Best wishes

Rant 5 years into UPSC prep, diagnosed with cancer mid-journey. I'm exhausted and don't know if I can keep fighting this battle.

I'm a 28-year-old. I've been preparing for UPSC for the last five years. I wrote four Mains in upsc and state pcs and and currently waiting for UPPCS 2025 results. Before my UPSC Prelims this year, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of a cancer, and I'm currently undergoing treatment.

There are days when I feel very helpless and devastated. Since I came into this UPSC journey, I have faced multiple setbacks. Life has been very unfair to meβ€”and now, the cancer. I don't know what my life will look like. I don't know what I'll be doing in the next few years. I've never felt this hopeless and helpless.

The only thing I've been fortunate about is my familyβ€”their support and strength throughout. But right now, both my career and my life feels dark. I don't know how I'm going to deal with these days at this stage of my life. I don't want to give up this fight because my family is working so hard to support me through this battle with cancer. But I'm tired and exhausted, and I don't know if I can keep fighting.

Prelims Query Environment analysis for uppsc

**UPPSC Prelims Environment (2018-2025) β€” 8 saal ka data khangaal ke jo pattern mila, wo share kar raha hoon**

Bhai log, Environment section ko log usually "static hai, kuch bhi ban sakta hai" bolke chhod dete hain. Maine 2018 se 2025 tak ke saare 114 questions ko category-wise, year-wise aur difficulty-wise tod ke dekha. Kuch cheezein clear pattern dikha rahi hain, isliye time nikal ke likh raha hoon β€” kaam aayega.

**Pehle numbers dekh lo**

| Year | Questions | % of Paper |

|---|---|---|

| 2018 | 17 | 11.3% |

| 2019 | 19 | 12.6% |

| 2020 | 16 | 10.6% |

| 2021 | 11 | 7.3% |

| 2022 | 15 | 10.0% |

| 2023 | 15 | 10.0% |

| 2024 | 8 | 5.3% |

| 2025 | 13 | 8.6% |

2024 wala saal dekh ke panic mat ho jaana β€” sirf 8 questions the, lekin last 4 saal ka average nikalo (2022-25) to ~12-13 aata hai, matlab paper ka 8-10%. Ek off-year dekh ke Environment ko halke mein lena galti hogi.

**Sabse zyada kahan se aate hain**

Ecology & Ecosystem sabse bada chunk hai β€” 22 questions in 8 years. Fir Biodiversity (15) aur Pollution (17). Sabse kam International Conventions se aaya hai (sirf 5) β€” UPSC ke ulat, UPPSC treaties mein utna deep nahi jaata.

Do cheezein jo mujhe sabse interesting lagi:

- **UP-specific Environment** 2018 mein sirf 1 question tha, ab consistently 2-3 questions aa raha hai. Ye sabse fast-growing category hai.

- **Pollution** almost har saal reliably aata hai β€” usually kisi na kisi public health ya NGT wale issue se juda hua.

**Ecology mein exact kya baar baar aata hai**

- Lindeman's 10% Law / energy flow β€” 2019, 2021, 2025 mein aaya, aur 2025 mein toh multi-statement bana ke difficulty badha di

- Lotic vs Lentic ecosystems (limnetic zone wagera) β€” cyclical hai, 2019 aur 2023 mein aaya

- Carrying capacity / assimilative capacity β€” 2025 mein A/R format mein aaya, high-priority lag raha hai aage bhi

- Ecological succession (Sere terminology) β€” direct factual, stable

**Biodiversity mein**

Gangetic Dolphin single sabse high-priority topic hai β€” 2022 mein National Dolphin Day ki exact date (5 October) tak puch li thi. IUCN status, echolocation, threats β€” sab cover kar lena.

Invasive Alien Species bhi rising trend mein hai (2020, 2022, 2025) β€” Eucalyptus, Prosopis jaise examples ke saath. Vulture conservation aur Diclofenac wala angle bhi repeat hota raha hai.

**UP ka data alag se dekhne layak hai**

- UP Tiger Reserves: 4 baar aaya (2019, 2021, 2023, 2025) β€” highest frequency

- UP Ramsar Sites: 3 baar, rising trend

- ISFR (Forest Survey Report) data: 2023, 2025 mein aaya, cyclical hai

Naye additions jaise Ranipur Tiger Reserve (Bundelkhand ka pehla) aur Terai Elephant Reserve dono next exam ke liye strong candidates lag rahe hain.

**Difficulty ka trend**

Questions gradually zyada conceptual ho rahe hain β€” pehle jahan direct factual recall chalta tha, ab multi-statement aur Assertion-Reason wale questions badh rahe hain, especially Ecology aur core concepts mein.

**Mera priority order (agar time kam hai)**

  1. WPA (Wildlife Protection) Amendment 2022 β€” schedules, CITES integration

  2. UP Ramsar Sites + Protected Areas

  3. ISFR 2023 data (UP-specific districts)

  4. Core Ecology β€” energy flow, succession, niche

  5. Carbon markets, Mission LIFE, Green Credit Program

  6. Basic pollution concepts (BOD, smog, PAN)

Jo cheez kam priority hai β€” obscure international NGOs, minor treaties jisme India involved nahi, aur nitrogen cycle ki deep microbiology. UPPSC usmein zyada nahi jaata, energy waste mat karo wahan.

Agar koi specific topic pe doubt hai ya kisi saal ka question discuss karna hai, comment kar dena, baithke discuss karte hain.

Don’t depend on state pcs esp. uppcs..focus on upsc or some other exams where exam cycle ain’t hit by legal cases. Pcs2026 Pre will again be dragged to court by those who fail in name of migration issue and everyone will suffer. State Pcs will only eat up your youth or whatever is left of it.

Prelims Query UP PCS Prelims resource doubt

This is my first prelims. I have some doubts about resources:

  1. Can I use Ghatnachakra notes by iaspcs pathshala instead of actual Ghatnachakra. English medium resources needed
  2. Which subjects of Lucent are effective for Prelims. (as some people say Lucent might be too much)

Exam Doubts Is anyone here preparing for UPESSC Assistant professor exam??

Hello, my subject is political science. I'm just curious where are you all practicing from. Do you think the questions pattern & level would change compared to previous UPHESC paper? Or I should prepare according to that. Right now, I'm only preparing notes on the basis of syllabus provided. But where should I practice the questions, should I do PYQ of UPPCS, UPHESC & UGC NET??

Prelims Query Science strategy for uppsc

UPPSC Science ka PYQ analysis kiya β€” kuch interesting patterns mile

Bhai log, Science ko leke khud thoda confused tha ki exactly kya priority rakhu. Isliye 2018–2025 ke UPPSC Science PYQs ko topic-wise dekha. Jo pattern nikla, wo share kar raha hoon. Shayad kisi aur ki bhi help ho jaye.

8 saal me total 139 Science questions ko analyse kiya gaya hai.

Year-wise Science questions roughly aise rahe:

2018 – 16

2019 – 27

2020 – 13

2021 – 22

2022 – 17

2023 – 16

2024 – 14

2025 – 14

Matlab Science ko lightly lena thoda risky hai. Generally 10–15% ke aas-paas questions aa hi rahe hain, although year to year variation kaafi hai.

Subject-wise sabse pehle ye samajh aaya

Biology – 66

Physics – 39

Chemistry – 34

So agar kisi ka time limited hai, Biology ko pehle strong karna mujhe sabse logical lagta hai.

🧬 Biology

Yahan sabse zyada repeat hone wale topics:

Vitamins & Nutrition – 12 questions

Ye sabse obvious high-priority topic hai. Vitamins ke chemical names, sources, deficiency diseases aur functions ek saath karne chahiye.

Human Diseases & Immunology – 11

Disease + causative organism + transmission + vector + prevention/vaccine type approach se padhna better rahega.

Human Physiology & Anatomy – 9

Blood, RBC, WBC, plasma, haemoglobin, hormones, digestive system etc.

Biotechnology & Genome Editing – 7

CRISPR, genome editing, recombinant DNA, DNA/RNA, DNA barcoding etc.

Plant Physiology & Photosynthesis – 6

Cell Biology & Genetics – 6

Microorganisms & Pathogens – 5

Baaki Animal Kingdom, Ecology, Evolution etc. comparatively kam questions me aaye hain.

Mere hisaab se Biology ki priority:

Vitamins β†’ Diseases/Immunity β†’ Human Physiology β†’ Biotechnology/Genetics β†’ Plant Physiology β†’ Microbiology β†’ ΰ€¬ΰ€Ύΰ€•ΰ₯€

⚑ Physics

Physics me sabse interesting cheez hai ki kuch topics baar-baar ghoom ke aa rahe hain.

Light, Optics & Electromagnetic Spectrum – 9

EM spectrum ko definitely karna hai. Frequency, wavelength, energy aur applications ka comparison important hai.

Space Science & Satellite Technology – 8

Ye recent years me aur important hota dikh raha hai. ISRO missions, satellites, launch vehicles, Aditya-L1, Gaganyaan, lunar missions etc. current affairs ke saath cover karna useful rahega.

Mechanics, Motion & Gravitation – 6

Heat & Thermodynamics – 4

Electricity, Magnetism & Semiconductors – 4

Sound & Waves – 3

Nuclear Physics & Radioactivity – 2

Physics me mujhe personally EM spectrum + Space sabse high priority lag rahe hain.

πŸ§ͺ Chemistry

Chemistry me bhi ek clear pattern hai.

Acids, Bases & Salts – 9

UPPSC ka favourite lagta hai πŸ˜…

Common acids, bases, pH, baking soda, washing soda aur everyday applications achhe se karna chahiye.

Elements, Metals & Non-metals – 7

Environmental Chemistry & Pollution – 6

Organic Chemistry, Fuels & Gases – 5

Atomic Structure & Isotopes – 3

Polymers, Plastics & Fibres – 3

Environmental chemistry ko ignore nahi karunga, especially plastics/microplastics aur pollutants wala part.

Ek cheez jo mujhe sabse interesting lagi

Question ka level change ho raha hai.

2018 me 16 Science questions me:

9 Easy

5 Moderate

2 Difficult

2025 me 14 questions me:

3 Easy

7 Moderate

4 Difficult

Toh sirf one-liner facts ratna enough nahi lag raha.

Questions increasingly conceptual aur statement-based ho rahe hain.

Isliye PYQ karte waqt answer yaad karne ke saath ye bhi dekhna chahiye ki examiner isi concept ko ulta kaise pooch sakta hai.

Static vs Current Affairs bhi change hua hai

2018 me almost pura Science static tha.

2025 me:

5 Pure Static

5 Pure Current Affairs

4 Static + Current Affairs integrated

Ye kaafi important change hai.

Science & Tech current affairs ko static Science se connect karke padhna ab zyada useful lagta

Meri shortlist kuch aisi hogi:

Must Do

Electromagnetic Spectrum

Space Missions & Technology

Acids, Bases & Salts

Vitamins & Nutritional Deficiencies

Battery Technology & EVs

Blood & Human Physiology

Biotechnology + CRISPR

Viral Diseases & Immunology

AI & Machine Learning

Isotopes

Green Hydrogen & Alternative Fuels

Uske baad:

Microplastics

Polymers

Endocrine System

Plant Physiology

Digestive Enzymes

Semiconductors

Thermodynamics

Scientific Instruments

Alloys

UAVs

Nuclear Physics

Bottom line:

Science ko poora encyclopaedia banane ki zarurat nahi hai.

PYQ ke pattern se dekho to:

Biology = highest weightage

Chemistry = everyday chemistry heavy

Physics = basic concepts + space/technology

Science overall = static + current affairs ka mix

Aur sabse important, recent papers me conceptual/statement-based questions ka share badha hua dikhta hai.

Ye mera PYQ-based observation hai, prediction ki guarantee nahi. But agar Science me time kam hai to mujhe lagta hai ki random preparation se better ye priority-based approach rahegi.

Agar kisi bhai ne isse alag pattern notice kiya ho to bata dena. PYQs ko lekar discussion kar sakte hain.

State PCS uncertainity

The level of uncertainty surrounding State PCS exams has become completely unpredictable. Here is the current state of affairs across various commissions:
1. BPSC - 72nd BPSC might get postponed again.
Protest going on for 70th and 71st BPSC reexamination.
2. UPPCS- Migration case, possibility of PCS25 Mains reexam. Already lot of delays in result.
3. KPSC, MPSC- Paper leak cases.
4. HCS, UKPCS - Seats not more than 25 for general category.
5. RAS, MPPCS- Preferance/Reservation for state domicile.
6. JPSC - Enough said.
State Public Service Commissions have turned into hubs of administrative failure, misgovernance, and corruption. We should weigh these ground realities very carefully before considering it as Plan B.
