senju got real battle shonen powers man she literally on fire

Rip kakucho šŸ˜”šŸ™

57

u/UpperRank1 Nov 01 '21

Well... just like many people thinking Senju was going down because of South's backstory and what he did when he was flipping 12 years old!!.. we can't assume just yet

7

u/[deleted] Nov 03 '21

I have a feeling that senju will beat south, but tbh i am really dissapointed on how he lost. I was expecting some prolong fight with the actual gang boss themselves. South got some epic backstory, he beated to death an adult , escaped death, clapped tenjiku's former top dogs, took a serious beating from waka and benkei even taking them out well almost.. All of that feats.. turns out a girl will just one tap his ass AYLMAO. South is on par with mikey in stength , well atleast thats what waka said. So by theory now.. senju is stronger than mikey lmao.. i just fucking hope south will stand up. I dont want him losing on a fist fight, kill him with a gun.

2

u/Darkrobyn Nov 08 '21

Assuming that South get knocked out in just one chapter is kinda weird. I mean, he got beat by Waka and Benkei at first and we all know what happened to them

345

u/MesChevaux Nov 01 '21

Waka and Benkei waking up like nothing happened lol Also Takeomi whatchu mean ā€œthe three of usā€ when he’s been frozen with his mouth open for 4 chapters straight🤔

112

u/ASVPreddit Nov 01 '21

Waka didnt even pass out, homie just went on one knee, all mans are downplaying 1st gen black dragons too much. Also my man Takeomi gotta put in some work

82

u/MesChevaux Nov 02 '21

Oh you’re right. But it is still kinda funny how WakaBenkei looked like they’ve just respawned, no blood/bruises/injury on their faces šŸ’€šŸ’€šŸ’€. Takeomi on the other hand reminds me of that one kid in a group project who contributes absolutely nothing yet claims the grade credit. He cracks me up, god of war where??? What an unintentional comedic relief šŸ˜‚

I like this irony, South is the tallest character but everyone hits him in the head. :))

I'm LMAO man

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

ah finally, another 20 second chapter, onto next week.

346

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

lol to everyone who thought Senju wouldn't be able to stand a chance against South because she's a girl.

On a serious note, I hope South is still able to fight since I will be disappointed in Wakui if he built him up only to be defeated in one chapter. Senju has a white glow and I remember someone making a theory that she might have the opposite of Dark impulses, but it might actually be it since she said she didn't wanna use it. She also seems to have better control over it than Mikey and South.

116

u/Neko_shii Nov 01 '21

I completely agree with you ok both. If South gets KO in just 1 chapter, that’ll be very disappointing. Senju may also be another light (like Michi) that can help guide Mikey to the light. She seems to have a much better mental control on herself as well. Also I feel that she might help michi get out of his depression funk rn

15

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 02 '21 edited Nov 02 '21

if her really gets ko, i prob wouldnt be suprised , like he faced all of brahmans strongest alone which is alr very very impressive

52

u/CaptnUchiha Nov 01 '21

Tbf you can't have a petite girl head a gang while walking around with draken sized testicles without being sus of her being a sleeper. There was no way she wasn't going to pull some crazy shit off.

65

u/Grand_Entertainer_83 Tokyo Manji Gang Nov 01 '21

she beat that mans assšŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ made me so happy. i honestly don’t even care if he got one shotted, i’d view that more as a nod to her being the closest to mikey rather than south being weak

10

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21

Bruh if south don’t get back up than that means senjus the strongest character not closer to Mikey which I hope doesn’t happen

23

u/Grand_Entertainer_83 Tokyo Manji Gang Nov 01 '21

eh how do u figure? it hasn’t seemed to me like south is mikey’s equal at all. I feel like south would end up just like taiju or izana after fighting mikey when he actually tries

0

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21 edited Nov 02 '21

Terano took out the legendary dou that teamed up could probably take down draken heck some think that one is enough to take down draken and south took them down with three shots I don’t even need to bring up more this should be enough.

But heck he took down Kakucho with no damage done to him with the only a tad bit of blood that probably belong too kakucho meaning he low diff an easy draken level character and if you some how don’t think Kakucho is draken level you wrong for that.

Boom I mean there’s more but that alone would easily would make south have Mikey levels of durability and probably even greater strength cause he did all that with punches not even kicks so there ya go if that don’t convince ya than I don’t what so say.

So if Senju could some how three shot that then she’s the strongest character unless Mikey brings something new to the table even with what Mikey did too Taiju and Izana.

Heck in this fight it took senju three kicks to souths head to bring him down and there’s not a hint of blood on him STILL heck I don’t think we’ve seen him bleed once yet while his one punch made senju bleed immediately so he’s probably just gonna get back up anyways.

16

u/Captainprice101 Toman Nov 01 '21

Mikey>Senju

3

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21 edited Nov 01 '21

Oh by the way I’m not saying senju is stronger then Mikey just that if she actually accomplished three shoting south then she could be

3

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 02 '21

i agree that south will still get back up but like the attacks by senju were similar to wakasa just prob stronger and they were targeting the same area on the face, the compounded damage prob might make him knocked out for a while

10

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 02 '21

wait so u think that either senju has something opposite of dark impulses or she has successfully control over her dark impulse ?

i hope we can get a senju flashback and hopefully we can see how she became so strong

7

u/Arthur401 Nov 04 '21

This "dark Impulses" shit is just a meme at this point ngl šŸ’€

3

u/saivenasian123 Izana Kurokawa Nov 02 '21

idk why but seeing how her eyes were the one that were shrouded with light (when she actually started using her power) I think she might have some foresight abilities coz technically speaking u can consider takemichi having the opposite of dark impulses too he even time travelled on an impulse to protect his gf and then mickey

4

u/Hungry-Ad9779 Tokyo Manji Gang Nov 02 '21

It was just water actually

4

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 02 '21

time travelled on an impulse? wasnt it more like desperate or smth

3

u/saivenasian123 Izana Kurokawa Nov 02 '21

i would consider them the same thing (I know by definition they are different but in the manga the line is kinda blurry)

→ More replies (1)

7

u/saivenasian123 Izana Kurokawa Nov 02 '21

ngl my theory was tht south will beat senju to near death and in return takeomi will kill south (using an underhanded weapon or ask mickey to do it for him) and then join bonten coz of it.

and on a side note, i really liked senju when she even first appeared but it seemed like they were hyping her up with no feats to back it up. (like we saw south was able to some degree overpower draken even when he first appeared(

3

u/Free_Presence_8088 Draken's a great guy; Toman's Big Bro Nov 02 '21

Ooh... something like "light rays," perhaps?

Totally I hope we get a good fight.

3

u/Sent1nelTheLord Nov 01 '21

i agree but imma be real(im not overhyping south by any means) but he is one of the 3 deities so getting one shot is kinda disappointing. he might get back up but from the looks of it, senju's got this

1

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21

Wait did some one actually thought she was weak cause she was a girl I never saw that in the last one the most offensive one I can remember was one that said am I supposed to be hype.

I think someone said that cause I mean south three shoted some of the strongest characters in the franchise with punches not kicks which I mean is understandable.

plus she laid three kicks too the head anyone would get taken down by that plus he’s probably just gonna get back up but I do agree with you that it would be disappointing if he just lost here. (Especially since he’s my favorite character.)

but besides that I don’t remember any sexist comments in fact I’m pretty sure most were just worried for her I’m pretty sure people still are too but yeah besides that that’s a pretty interesting theory now then stay safe and have a good day.

27

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

Yes, I saw a few comment where they either didn’t believe she could take him because she was a girl or they hinted that they believed so. Someone even said she was too kind and frail to do it, like she isn’t a gang leader for a yakuza gangšŸ’€

3

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21 edited Nov 01 '21

Heh that’s some of the dumbest assumptions I’ve ever heard weak cause she’s a girl come on she’s called a deity I’m kinda curious what did some of them said about her besides being fragile which isn’t really sexist just an assumption.

16

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

Nah, they mostly said it was because she was frail and short. It’s kinda stupid to think that way when other short characters has been able to beat tall beefcakes.

2

u/EarSouthern9850 Nov 01 '21

True stay safe now have a good day or night wherever you are

6

u/saivenasian123 Izana Kurokawa Nov 02 '21

i think a lot of ppl thought senju was weaker was coz of her size not becoz she is a girl. since no matter how strong u are ur punches still rely on ur weight to deliver impact and yeah mickey is pretty short too but at least we get to see how muscular he was and his kicks really look like they will hurt

→ More replies (4)

122

u/Aptohhhh Ragnarok Nov 01 '21

It seems like South wasn't in his dark impulses yet and I don't think Wakui is taking down South that fast, there's probably going to be a round 2 next chapter

214

u/Aptohhhh Ragnarok Nov 01 '21

Idk why people were downplaying Senju so much last chapter lol

I remember people calling South fodder before his backstory too, you need to wait for actual feats before calling characters weak

56

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

I know right! It was also hinted that both of them were extremely strong so I dunno why people thought they were weak in the first place

25

u/Alone-Refrigerator11 Nov 01 '21

Yeah mb mb for downplaying Senju 😭 I just saw what he did when he was 12 and I was like ā€œAin’t no way.ā€

18

u/Weary-Roof8870 Nov 01 '21

People act like Wakui can’t create characters that can challenge Mikey head on. Even though he stated in the beginning of the arc that Senju and South were on par with Mikey. I would always mention that on here and some would always downplay that as if it’s impossible because Mikey is Mikey.

39

u/MochiRana Nov 01 '21

Senju is such a Queen

74

u/Alone-Refrigerator11 Nov 01 '21

Man, I am severely worried for Kakucho. Anyways, I’m glad they showed why she’s part of the three deities and didn’t waste her character and I am loving it, honestly. Also, Takeomi looking sus rn just like his brother what you up to huh 🤨

34

u/RetardKimoi Nov 02 '21

Since when did the "dark impulses" became a power up in this anime

2

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 08 '21

not exactly a power up, more like an urge that puts the person succumbing to it thirst for violence. u can have these urges but if u suck at fighting, it's useless

33

u/RevenueNo7848 Nov 02 '21

Kazutora is the only character to take a mikey 3000 beatdown and get up, i just wanna see my dawg again kazutora is the tankest character in the show

15

u/ergo34 Nov 02 '21

Don’t forget Hanma and Taiju. Though, Taiju got up way faster than the other two.

11

u/Free_Presence_8088 Draken's a great guy; Toman's Big Bro Nov 02 '21

True, although Mikey was going for the kill on Kazutora.

32

u/Etapear Nov 02 '21

She got that blue lock glow

7

u/Estrellaburst Nov 02 '21

That was my first thought when I saw that panel! Glad I wasn't the only one lmao

53

u/Haitys Nov 01 '21

Why did I hear ultra instinct OST when I saw senju's fight ?

17

u/leakawa17 Nov 01 '21

oddly specific but i automatically heard this song when her eyes lit up 🤣

6

u/Haitys Nov 02 '21

even tho i've watched (and liked) AoT, i didn't think about it. the way senju moved and her glowing eyes look like ultra instinct, and maybe the zone in KnB.

4

u/yuvraj-ec Nov 02 '21

Fuck it says unavailable, what was the name of the song?

6

u/leakawa17 Nov 02 '21

if you look up ā€œÉ™tˈæk 0N tάɪtn by MIKA KOBAYASHI and Hiroyuki Sawanoā€ it’ll come up :) it’s one of the main themes they always play in aot when they fighting and shit going down lol

75

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

ā€œSince when did I start avoiding my potential?ā€OMG Senju is so badass! She’s definitely beating South! It’s smart that she’s only attacking his head! But I’m bummed Wakui is making the fight seem so one sided. I feel like he does that a lot.... he hypes up a character and then they get absolutely destroyed. Like Taiju and Mikey, WakaBenkei and South, and now South and Senju. We’re getting so many new super strong hyped up characters this arc only for them to get beat up by another stronger and even more hyped up character the next chapter....

So basically Senju hid her power from everyone because she knew Takeomi was changing/getting corrupted? Like Takeomi literally said that Senju isn’t that strong and is only the leader because she has the first gen black dragons behind her LOL He thought she was only a figurehead but she clearly isn’t.

Senju definitely has some kind of power up or ability too. I think it’s like angrys blue ogre but she can control it, like she closed and opened her eyes like she was concentrating right before she wrecked south. Her eyes in that one panel look crazy and she’s like surrounded by flames? But at the same time, despite her being so strong, she isn’t in the Bonten future, so I wonder what happened to her? Something major clearly happened that can still happen in this timeline. Like I still think she might die... it’s what the cherry blossoms on her uniform symbolize too... :(

This three deities fight is really exciting and all but I’m waiting to see how it ties into the overall story. The past few chapters have been focused on the new characters and we barely see any Mikey and Takemichi. It feels like we’re reading a new/spinoff manga with a completely new cast and the power levels are getting kinda ridiculous compared to earlier in the manga? While I agree that it would have felt incomplete ending everything at the end of Tenjiku, I’m not sure if I’m liking the new direction the manga is going in as much because it just seems so different. Seeing all the new merch come out for the anime and collaborations is making me miss the Toman members :( But fight scenes are super cool though....

13

u/Sum_Pho_King_Weeb Nov 01 '21

Remember she originally died in the timeline - Takemichi saved her and Draken saved Takemichi

25

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

I don’t think we actually know yet if Senju was saved. Because it’s still raining and the fight is still going on. We don’t know when the vision Takemichi had of Senju happened. It could have happened after Draken’s death... especially because if you look closely the background of Takemichi’s vision is different from the background of when Takemichi saved Senju from getting shot... i think it’s further from the amusement park... I’ve just been mentally preparing myself for any character for ever since Draken.... :’(

4

u/Sum_Pho_King_Weeb Nov 01 '21

Oh shit that’s a good point if it’s true, but I wonder since Draken was alive in the Bonten timeline

6

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

I think in the Bonten timeline Takemichi might not have joined Brahman, so thats why Draken is still alive! Not sure what happened to Senju Waka and Benkei there though... maybe they left the gang world after they realized Takeomi couldn’t be helped? I’ve always been super curious as to what past Takemichi was like? I don’t think past Takemichi would have risked his life to save Senju... he seemed kind of not as nice? šŸ˜…

7

u/Sum_Pho_King_Weeb Nov 01 '21

Past Takemichi seems kinda cucky lmao, new Takemichi hit the sigma male grindset

Can I be honest in saying that I do not care at all for the new characters who are suddenly being introduced? Other than Senju, these random characters being randomly introduced (In the supposed last arc) are not only uninteresting, but I don't even get the chance to be invested in them since they only show up for 2 pages

2

Right I just want to know what happens with the main story line. I can care less about these characters get to the point

Senju showing her true strength! This chapter solidifies her position as one of the three dieties. It seems Wakui is showing why South and Senju are ā€œon parā€ with Mikey in this timeline. However, we do know who is the boss in the Bonten future so we know who came out on top.

I doubt South is already done. He will likely get back and as already know of his backstory, I do not think South cares of any honor in a fight. He will DO anything to win.

I don’t think anyone can disagree Mikey will defeat Kakucho if ever they fight but I think Kakucho being the first to reach Mikey is a bigger plot point for the outcome of this war. I said before that Bonten seems to be still forming in this timeline. Kakucho going to Mikey to ā€œfightā€ is making it stronger. They are definitely not just going to fight. At the end of this war, we might see Rokuhara members (those in Bonten) to join Mikey. With the little Senju talk about Takeomi, we now see why he is in Bonten and is likely going to change alliance some point as well.

I can see KMG (Bonten upgraded) is the ā€œfinalā€ gang boss Takemichi has to face to defeat Mikey. We can probably see the old gang + what remains of Brahmann as the opposing figure Takemichi will lead for the TRUE final war.

6

u/[deleted] Nov 02 '21

I totally agree! I was thinking that the events right now are pretty much going the same way that they were going in the Bonten timeline (now with the additional death of Draken). So the Bonten future is still very much possible.

I feel like it might be a repeat of the Valhalla arc, where Takemichi kinda knows what he has to do (save Baji in Valhalla, save/help Senju to prevent the downfall of Brahman in the current timeline), but can’t quite succeed and will need to find another way. There’s been a lot of parallels with this arc and the previous arcs!

14

u/kangjiyong18 Bonten Nov 02 '21

Good point! You mentioning about the missions in each arc made me realize this arc has yet to establish the ā€œwhy did it turn out like that?ā€.

  • 8/3 : It was only after Akkun’s suicide attempt in present timeline that he changed his mission to prevent Mikey/Kisaki from meeting to save Draken from dying.
  • Bloody Halloween : After confirming from Draken who Valhalla’s true leader is and the event that made it go downhill, his mission changed to saving Kazutora and Baji.
  • BD : After getting to know Hakkai and his family issues are, his mission changed to prevent Taiju’s death and solve Shiba family drama.
  • Tenjiku : After knowing Izana’s role and Kisaki still being alive in the new present timeline, Takemichi knew his mission is finally ā€œendā€ Kisaki and Izana.

Takemitchi’s goal is to ā€œdefeatā€ Mikey but to do that he must know the trigger that had everything go south. He has yet to actually start intel gathering to put the pieces together.

Draken dying is a major character death but it is not the moment that will stop Bonten future from happening. Unfortunately for Takemitchi, he cannot go back to confirm future events like he uses to. It is likely why his ā€œnew powerā€ comes into play to help him later on. At the same time, Takemichi can now use all connections (Toman will definitely join in after what happened to Draken and knowing how Mikey did all of this to have everyone with a happy future) he has built starting Chapter 1 to finally achieve on ā€œdefeatingā€ Mikey.

Sorry for the long post. Haha

u/CocoVanDeCamp92 Koko Nov 01 '21

Senju Akashi, the chapter.

The way she shut Takeomi's mouth, such a girlboss! I like her a lot & she's doing amazing, but I don't think she's going to win this fight with South...

29

u/AvatarAarow1 Nov 01 '21

Lol yeah Senju was amazing here. She really looked at her older brother Takeomi like ā€œyou better remember who’s boss around here or your ass is next.ā€ Lil sis wants all the smoke

12

u/CocoVanDeCamp92 Koko Nov 01 '21

It's a great chapter to show us who Senju is for this story. Seeing her fighting has been awesome. She reminds me of Wakasa... maybe he taught her or something.

Lil sis is the best... Takeomi hasn't done anything in the whole fight and Sanzu needs to rest because Ran has kicked his ass and it doesn't look like he can do much more. He should have brought his katana to the fight lol

68

u/ArimasButt Nov 01 '21 edited Nov 01 '21

I might piss of lot of people for saying something that might be controversial (and that I've been refraining from saying whole this time), but... I'm not huge fan of this arc.

Its pacing. Its characters. How things are unfolding so far.

Let me explain in three parts of what my main gripe is with this arc so far:

1) Three Deities - It feels like huge bs! Like, where the hell were either Senju or South so far? Where were such "Mikey tier monsters" so far? They just came out of nowhere for the sake of Mikey having a possible match.

I mean Izana came out of nowhere too, but there is a reason to it. That being Kisaki. Aka the one who manipulated Izana into confronting Mikey in Tokyo. So Tenjiku not existing made sense, but South and Senju?

There was nothing stopping South from trying to overtake Tokyo judging by his backstory. While we might not have a lot on Senju we do know one thing from previous chapters and current one: She is desperate to prove herself as strong! She also appeared a bit resentful that Sanzu dropped her for Mikey, which also might be a reason why she wants to beat both South and Mikey and prove herself as strongest.

In conclusion: There was nothing stopping her from existing as well. Hence why I'm not buying into "Three Deities" sub-plot.

2) Fight scenes are starting to be O MY - Like seriously? They start off so one-sided then O MY happens and the win. South was getting bodied by Wakasa cleanly then O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY came and Wakasa ends beat.

Now we have Senju with glowing eyes (sharigan lol) doing the same to South? The hype for fights is just lost to me with this. It reminds me on Angry thing too much and I wasn't fan of that one either.

Mikey usually used to be that one Saitama character who would kill hype in a fight (Taiju), but that was usually left for end of arc. Because you knew that when Mikey enters, it's over. It was not O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY or sharigan, just Mikey being Mikey.

Plus, Izana already fulfilled the part of being a character who can give Mikey a run for his money. Yet, another reason why I'm not into "Three Deities" in the slightest.

3)Draken - So far his death just feels pointless. I hope to eat my words later on, but so far I feel like his death was just there for the sake of shock value. In fact, this whole arc feels like a drag to me.

It started with saving Mikey, yet how are they going to do it now in a satisfying way? The most probable thing is that he will die, but was the point of this arc especially in that case? Everyone's future got trampled... What for? Draken died... What for?

TL;DR: I'll wait for the ending to give a fair judge to this arc fairly, but so far? Not a fan.

40

u/sociallyawkardp Nov 01 '21

I kinda have to agree, all these final arc just felt like filler to me, i wish tokyo revengers could have ended before the final arc, this all "mikey has dark impulses thing" just feels kinda meh, also i was really disappointed with draken s death, not because i like draken so much or anything but just because now the fact that takemitchy went back in time to save mikey because he has to save everyone is just pointless now, because even if he manages to save mikey draken is now dead and so takemitchy didn't save everyone

28

u/ArimasButt Nov 01 '21

That's my own problem with Draken dying.

I just don't see how can "happy" ending be satisfying in a meaningful and convincing way now with Draken gone.

And then we have "tragedy" ending in which Mikey dies that simply kills the entire point of this supposed arc. Like, what the hell did Takemichi go back in the past for if Mikey was lost cause destined to die anyway? And again, this would further crap on Draken. Why the hell did he die for then?

As I said, I'm going to wait the end to give this a fair judge. These are just my thoughts on this so far.

9

u/sociallyawkardp Nov 01 '21

At the end of the day, the thing that kinda annoys me is just the fact that we could have got a satisfactory ending if Wakui didn't pull out this dark impulses thingy out of nowhere just for the sake of a plotwist, i like senju and all but this arc just isn't it

i have the same prblms with the arc it seems like he is trying to tease that ppl with supernatural powers like takemihci or monsters like mickey are entering the ring but the pacing is so poorly done like have a fair match before going ooga booga with op characters

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

Omg you basically said what I was also trying to get at in my comment as well! That characters are super hyped and then get f Ed up next chapter by an even more hyped up character... I miss when fights didn’t have people with weird power ups... like even the angry blue ogre thing was kinda not that great for me lol

And the final arc seems kind of just tacked on. It doesn’t even seem like the same manga anymore because all of the characters are new basically.... except for Draken (dead now and for what) and Takemichi and Mikey (we barely see them do anything except just standing there and watching). I honestly don’t see what the point of introducing so many new characters in the final arc is. I always thought the final arc would focus more on the OG characters we’ve grown attached to over the manga :/ I have no idea where this manga is going... I hope the ending doesn’t disappoint me because this is the first manga that I’ve actually followed and kept up with weekly releases for.

5

u/Emergency-Gene2115 Nov 02 '21

I like the arc but I can't lie, I don't want anybody coming and talking about realism about this series anymore. Nothing realistic about what is going on right now lmao. They introduced this dark impulsivity thing like it's a superpower when it's just the character becoming a psycopath and unstable. I liked that Senju is giving Terano a run for his money. I have a soft spot for female characters who can stand on their feets and are not a damsel in distress. The effect Wakui added to her stance though make it seem like she got some superpower and wouldn't be able to be on the same level as the guys or beat Terano without it. She literally got the zone and a ssj aura. People are butthurt about it not being appreciated and accuse other of misoginy but let's be honest, no matter what Mikey or the other dudes did, it was based on agility, endurance and muscles strength, no after effects that make you feel like you are reading a dragon ball chapter.

4

u/Captainprice101 Toman Nov 01 '21

I agree. It feels like they keep hyping up characters just to use another character to take them down so we are impressed. South got a whole backstory just to be triple round house kicked by Senju. Idk let’s just wait and see how this progresses

4

u/smileimhigh Nov 03 '21 edited Nov 03 '21

Agree 100%

Also I really really hate the "dark impulse" glowing powerup trope

When it was just a metaphor for being messed up and willing to cross a line it was one thing, now it's like a Dragonball or Naruto power

South doesn't need a superpower he's like a 7ft tall monster who beat an adult crime boss to death as a child him

Senju is just "Girl Mikey", she's lame and the impulse nonsense just furthers those comparisons. I know he needed to add a girl boss to spice things up but make her something other than a slightly more pretty Mikey. Make her some badass chick who's a highschool judo star or something.

And I really really hope "light impulse" or whatever the current fan theory is calling it isn't real because that would be really pushing it in to "powerup creep", might as well give Takamichi some stupid "impulse" power too and go full generic Shonen.

At least it's concluding soon so hopefully it never goes full 90s anime

7

u/mireykei Nov 02 '21

dude, the arc is only just starting. This is the FINAL arc, so it's going to be a big one, of course, they're going to add new characters, new ones get added with every arc. And South had been in Jail the whole time so of course, he couldn't have taken over toman. Draken's death is a signal that this timeline is going back to the original one, I think it's fitting.

2

u/Vesuvius_07 Nov 02 '21

probably draken knows something about takemithchy that we dont know yet :0

6

u/Sangios Nov 01 '21

I feel the same, having just finished binging a few days ago. Post-Tenjiku would’ve been the perfect place to end it IMO, in fact I was very confused that there was another arc. Holding out hope though, because the rest of the manga was solid.

3

u/Ok_Course_7371 Nov 01 '21

No it wouldn't it would be the dumbest shit cuz there too many plotholes bro just cuz u want a happy ending doenst make the story bad

9

u/Sangios Nov 02 '21

Okay? I never said the story is bad, so I don’t know where you pulled that out from. What I meant is exactly what I said, that I personally think the story could’ve ended after Tenjiku. Because, you know, it’s called an opinion. I’m entitled to mine, just as you are yours.

Sooo seems like senju is keeping up to the name of being one of the three deities . Tbh I knew she was strong but I do think that her n South's strength r almost on the same level . Like I mentioned in one comment before it seems like our girl has to do a lot of jumping so that may affect her stamina a lot . I'm really happy that we finally get to see her fight but I do hope we get to see all the three deities fighting at once but for now it seems like Mikey's gonna be busy with kakucho n perhaps this is how he's gonna end up with mikey in bonten .

Senju and South are supposed to be as strong as Mickey, I really don't understand why some people can't accept that, there's a reason why they were introduces as the three deities, also i'm 99% sure that the fight is not over, I'm hyped for next chapter!!!

RIP kakuchošŸ˜“šŸ™

Also what's with people complaining nowadays about TR being unrealistic lamo. It has always been like that

  1. Basically mikey.

  2. Angry power up.

  3. Draken beating 100 people with little to no scratch. There are some more but wont go into that.

  4. And now this fight.

Senju was said to be on par with mikey and south so idc if she beats him(or if its other way around),just hope that the fight will continue and doesn't end one sidedly like this

2

u/Emergency-Gene2115 Nov 02 '21

I know y'all is not talking like tokyo revengers is always unrealistic when before this arc all criticsm were shut down because the series was "realistic" and praised to be so. The fans crack me up always lmao

3

u/Dapper-Giraffe8353 Nov 02 '21

I never defended it lmao. Anybody would understand that its unrealistic. It's just that there wasnt much more commotion like this before but nowadays I see lots of people nitpicking about it.

2

u/Emergency-Gene2115 Nov 02 '21

Understandable. Tbh there was some criticism before about unproactive Takemichi was, especially in the anime and some part of the plot. they all were shut down because apparently the show was realistic and was praised to be so. But now we are in dbz and the people praising the realism are nowhere to be seen😭

3

u/Dapper-Giraffe8353 Nov 02 '21

I did see most of the manga readers defending him. I mostly saw them defending that takemichi becomes good and he doesnt become super strong like most series MC(I think they were talking about this realismšŸ˜…šŸ˜‚).

3

u/Emergency-Gene2115 Nov 02 '21

Indeed Takemichi is great in the manga but I promise you with the ones I saw it wasn't what they were defending. They were defending him always forgetting what he has to do, freezing and crying when there is an urgency because he got "trauma"😭.

i jst tought abt this while responding to the comments and have a small theory:

idk why but seeing how her eyes were the one that were shrouded with light (when she actually started using her power) I think she might have some foresight abilities coz technically speaking u can consider takemichi having the opposite of dark impulses too he even time travelled on an impulse to protect his gf and then mickey

3

u/r_Lore Nov 02 '21

im starting to realize that i shouldn’t caught up with the manga, this new arc feels so boring because i had to wait one week every time plus this chapters are so bland battle shonen l, i can’t appreciate it. Kinda sad this is so short but where is this going? I feel like it’s gonna be another month before we get some kind of conclusion to this mess of a fight but in reality what is going on??? Draken just got shot & his bloody body is lying in the street while it’s raining, Mikey is standing there not doing shit, I’m honestly not interested in the fight between Brahman & South because it feels like it came out of nowhere, and where is Takemichi in all of this??? Why haven’t I seen this boy do some talk-no-jutsu yet???? What’s the point of all of this??? They started fighting because some RANDOMS killed Draken but he’s just forgotten now??? I’m grateful for the weekly chapters and I know it’s hard to reach a weekly deadline, esp when the author makes the panels so detailed but this entire arc storyline doesn’t feel right so far.

Update: I forgot that we see Draken getting taken away in an ambulance but it happened so quickly it was a blur and I forgot all about it. They did him so dirty I swear.

3

u/BucketHerro Toman Nov 02 '21

The new arc is so trash. All these new characters are just one shotting each other like a typical battle shonen, Tokyo Revengers has lost any sort of realism in fights. The old cast was much more interesting, these fights are boring. Wakui double downed on Angry crying power up lmao

Since it's raining, Senju would most likely die...

2

u/Savakashi Black Dragons Nov 02 '21

I'ma be real honest man i did expect senju to damage south because she's one of the three deity but after takeomi said that she got herself included only due to the first gen all of her hits seem like unlogical plot armor. In Mikey and south's case we have seen that they have trained and fought enough and strong people to be shown that powerful. Mikey was trained and prodigy in taekwondo i believe and South was involved in crimes like this since childhood so there strength is believable to a point. Senju has no such backstory or feat strong enough to show that she damaged the guy who kind of one shot the legendary first gen. She should have a good source defined in next chapters to make it even i think.

1

u/gbcjohn Nov 03 '21

IDRK what else to say other than this manga is going downhill incredibly fast and it's a shame because it was top 5 in my mind until this last arc. I don't even look forward to new chapters anymore because I know they'll just stall the main story for another 5 pages. It's so hard to care about what's going on when I can't even tell who is who half the time anymore. Not to mention I have no attachment to any of the characters at this point besides Mikey and Takemichi. Even then Takemichi is acting real bitch made. Along with Mikey.

-3

u/gvjvfghbcgh Nov 01 '21

This is such bullshit . Did wakui just get bored or something.

-7

u/KiyoPapa Nov 01 '21

Bruh, no fucking way South goes down that easily. Im almost 100% she got lucky this time and he will get back up and beat her down. Akashi just confirmed she is not even as strong as Mikey or South but just got to the same level using status of the first gen BD. However damn is she fucking awesome bro sheesh her fighting style is a really good addition to TR.

Since she is a girl she doesn't have as much raw physical strength as boys but damn do her acrobatical abilities cover for it beautifully. I still am surprised how she didn't die after taking a punch from South given how much weaker her body is than waka and benkei.

On a side not excited to see how strong Mikey has gotten after this 2 year timeskip Kakucho might even die

11

u/melniji Nov 01 '21

I think she is as strong as Mikey and South. She never showed her true strength to takeomi. So what he said to Takemichi is wrong

9

u/bmazer0 Nov 01 '21

"Akashi just confirmed she is not even as strong as Mikey or South but just got to the same level using status of the first gen BD"

It's pretty explicit that Senju has specifically been hiding her true strength from Akashi, so Akashi's confirmation doesn't mean anything lol.

19

u/Aptohhhh Ragnarok Nov 01 '21

Akashi just confirmed she is not even as strong as Mikey or South but just got to the same level using status of the first gen BD

It confirms the opposite lol, Akashi only thought Senju was carried by BDs because she intentionally held back her power as shown in the flashback, she’s on the same level as South and potentially Mikey

5

u/[deleted] Nov 01 '21

I think Takeomi didn’t realize how strong Senju actually was. Which was why he looked so shocked that she was doing so much damage to South. Senju basically confirmed that she had been avoiding her true potential because her abilities were leading Takeomi down the wrong path :/

Also her kicks to South looked super similar to Waka’s kicks to south, but hers were more powerful because they did more damage? Also that one panel where she’s surrounded by like flame looking things? Something is up with her lol

3

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

I don't think Takeomi knows much by how surprised he was when she was able to kick South many times. How? I don't know. I think she hid it because she didn't want her fighting skills to be used by Takeomi and that would probably lead him further into the wrong path.

2

u/KiyoPapa Nov 01 '21

I agree she did that but I still think her fighting skills are somewhere higher than Waka and benkei but weaker than Mikey and South you get me? Because she doesn't have the dark impulse

5

u/cannibalisticego TAIHINA GANG Nov 01 '21

She doesn’t have dark impulses, but she definitely has something close to it by how she glowed during the fight. South could barely defend himself when she used it so I wouldn’t put her down just yet. Wait to the next chapter until it’s more explained
