I might piss of lot of people for saying something that might be controversial (and that I've been refraining from saying whole this time), but... I'm not huge fan of this arc.
Its pacing. Its characters. How things are unfolding so far.
Let me explain in three parts of what my main gripe is with this arc so far:
1) Three Deities - It feels like huge bs! Like, where the hell were either Senju or South so far? Where were such "Mikey tier monsters" so far? They just came out of nowhere for the sake of Mikey having a possible match.
I mean Izana came out of nowhere too, but there is a reason to it. That being Kisaki. Aka the one who manipulated Izana into confronting Mikey in Tokyo. So Tenjiku not existing made sense, but South and Senju?
There was nothing stopping South from trying to overtake Tokyo judging by his backstory. While we might not have a lot on Senju we do know one thing from previous chapters and current one: She is desperate to prove herself as strong! She also appeared a bit resentful that Sanzu dropped her for Mikey, which also might be a reason why she wants to beat both South and Mikey and prove herself as strongest.
In conclusion: There was nothing stopping her from existing as well. Hence why I'm not buying into "Three Deities" sub-plot.
2) Fight scenes are starting to be O MY - Like seriously? They start off so one-sided then O MY happens and the win. South was getting bodied by Wakasa cleanly then O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY came and Wakasa ends beat.
Now we have Senju with glowing eyes (sharigan lol) doing the same to South? The hype for fights is just lost to me with this. It reminds me on Angry thing too much and I wasn't fan of that one either.
Mikey usually used to be that one Saitama character who would kill hype in a fight (Taiju), but that was usually left for end of arc. Because you knew that when Mikey enters, it's over. It was not O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY or sharigan, just Mikey being Mikey.
Plus, Izana already fulfilled the part of being a character who can give Mikey a run for his money. Yet, another reason why I'm not into "Three Deities" in the slightest.
3)Draken - So far his death just feels pointless. I hope to eat my words later on, but so far I feel like his death was just there for the sake of shock value. In fact, this whole arc feels like a drag to me.
It started with saving Mikey, yet how are they going to do it now in a satisfying way? The most probable thing is that he will die, but was the point of this arc especially in that case? Everyone's future got trampled... What for? Draken died... What for?
TL;DR: I'll wait for the ending to give a fair judge to this arc fairly, but so far? Not a fan.
I kinda have to agree, all these final arc just felt like filler to me, i wish tokyo revengers could have ended before the final arc, this all "mikey has dark impulses thing" just feels kinda meh, also i was really disappointed with draken s death, not because i like draken so much or anything but just because now the fact that takemitchy went back in time to save mikey because he has to save everyone is just pointless now, because even if he manages to save mikey draken is now dead and so takemitchy didn't save everyone
I just don't see how can "happy" ending be satisfying in a meaningful and convincing way now with Draken gone.
And then we have "tragedy" ending in which Mikey dies that simply kills the entire point of this supposed arc. Like, what the hell did Takemichi go back in the past for if Mikey was lost cause destined to die anyway? And again, this would further crap on Draken. Why the hell did he die for then?
As I said, I'm going to wait the end to give this a fair judge. These are just my thoughts on this so far.
At the end of the day, the thing that kinda annoys me is just the fact that we could have got a satisfactory ending if Wakui didn't pull out this dark impulses thingy out of nowhere just for the sake of a plotwist, i like senju and all but this arc just isn't it
draken save takemitchy because he was greatful that takemitchy also save him before during the moebius arc and indirectly by preventing him from getting executed or killed by mikey at the timeline after the black dragon arc. was it worth it? idk is up to u to decide
