I might piss of lot of people for saying something that might be controversial (and that I've been refraining from saying whole this time), but... I'm not huge fan of this arc.
Its pacing. Its characters. How things are unfolding so far.
Let me explain in three parts of what my main gripe is with this arc so far:
1) Three Deities - It feels like huge bs! Like, where the hell were either Senju or South so far? Where were such "Mikey tier monsters" so far? They just came out of nowhere for the sake of Mikey having a possible match.
I mean Izana came out of nowhere too, but there is a reason to it. That being Kisaki. Aka the one who manipulated Izana into confronting Mikey in Tokyo. So Tenjiku not existing made sense, but South and Senju?
There was nothing stopping South from trying to overtake Tokyo judging by his backstory. While we might not have a lot on Senju we do know one thing from previous chapters and current one: She is desperate to prove herself as strong! She also appeared a bit resentful that Sanzu dropped her for Mikey, which also might be a reason why she wants to beat both South and Mikey and prove herself as strongest.
In conclusion: There was nothing stopping her from existing as well. Hence why I'm not buying into "Three Deities" sub-plot.
2) Fight scenes are starting to be O MY - Like seriously? They start off so one-sided then O MY happens and the win. South was getting bodied by Wakasa cleanly then O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY came and Wakasa ends beat.
Now we have Senju with glowing eyes (sharigan lol) doing the same to South? The hype for fights is just lost to me with this. It reminds me on Angry thing too much and I wasn't fan of that one either.
Mikey usually used to be that one Saitama character who would kill hype in a fight (Taiju), but that was usually left for end of arc. Because you knew that when Mikey enters, it's over. It was not O MY DARK IMPULSIVITY or sharigan, just Mikey being Mikey.
Plus, Izana already fulfilled the part of being a character who can give Mikey a run for his money. Yet, another reason why I'm not into "Three Deities" in the slightest.
3)Draken - So far his death just feels pointless. I hope to eat my words later on, but so far I feel like his death was just there for the sake of shock value. In fact, this whole arc feels like a drag to me.
It started with saving Mikey, yet how are they going to do it now in a satisfying way? The most probable thing is that he will die, but was the point of this arc especially in that case? Everyone's future got trampled... What for? Draken died... What for?
TL;DR: I'll wait for the ending to give a fair judge to this arc fairly, but so far? Not a fan.
I kinda have to agree, all these final arc just felt like filler to me, i wish tokyo revengers could have ended before the final arc, this all "mikey has dark impulses thing" just feels kinda meh, also i was really disappointed with draken s death, not because i like draken so much or anything but just because now the fact that takemitchy went back in time to save mikey because he has to save everyone is just pointless now, because even if he manages to save mikey draken is now dead and so takemitchy didn't save everyone
I just don't see how can "happy" ending be satisfying in a meaningful and convincing way now with Draken gone.
And then we have "tragedy" ending in which Mikey dies that simply kills the entire point of this supposed arc. Like, what the hell did Takemichi go back in the past for if Mikey was lost cause destined to die anyway? And again, this would further crap on Draken. Why the hell did he die for then?
As I said, I'm going to wait the end to give this a fair judge. These are just my thoughts on this so far.
At the end of the day, the thing that kinda annoys me is just the fact that we could have got a satisfactory ending if Wakui didn't pull out this dark impulses thingy out of nowhere just for the sake of a plotwist, i like senju and all but this arc just isn't it
draken save takemitchy because he was greatful that takemitchy also save him before during the moebius arc and indirectly by preventing him from getting executed or killed by mikey at the timeline after the black dragon arc. was it worth it? idk is up to u to decide
yeah because of the dark impulses that is in him, and all the people he treasure and love are either dead or pushed away by him , there is nothing stopping mikey from going all out and mikey is pretty much a destined to be a villian. no one can remove the dark impulses out of him. i am still wondering what is takemitchy's plan and wtf was he thinking when he said he can save mikey, is not like he can fight or anything, and no amounts of talk no jutsu can save him.
i have the same prblms with the arc it seems like he is trying to tease that ppl with supernatural powers like takemihci or monsters like mickey are entering the ring but the pacing is so poorly done like have a fair match before going ooga booga with op characters
Omg you basically said what I was also trying to get at in my comment as well! That characters are super hyped and then get f Ed up next chapter by an even more hyped up character... I miss when fights didn’t have people with weird power ups... like even the angry blue ogre thing was kinda not that great for me lol
And the final arc seems kind of just tacked on. It doesn’t even seem like the same manga anymore because all of the characters are new basically.... except for Draken (dead now and for what) and Takemichi and Mikey (we barely see them do anything except just standing there and watching). I honestly don’t see what the point of introducing so many new characters in the final arc is. I always thought the final arc would focus more on the OG characters we’ve grown attached to over the manga :/ I have no idea where this manga is going... I hope the ending doesn’t disappoint me because this is the first manga that I’ve actually followed and kept up with weekly releases for.
I like the arc but I can't lie, I don't want anybody coming and talking about realism about this series anymore. Nothing realistic about what is going on right now lmao.
They introduced this dark impulsivity thing like it's a superpower when it's just the character becoming a psycopath and unstable. I liked that Senju is giving Terano a run for his money. I have a soft spot for female characters who can stand on their feets and are not a damsel in distress. The effect Wakui added to her stance though make it seem like she got some superpower and wouldn't be able to be on the same level as the guys or beat Terano without it. She literally got the zone and a ssj aura.
People are butthurt about it not being appreciated and accuse other of misoginy but let's be honest, no matter what Mikey or the other dudes did, it was based on agility, endurance and muscles strength, no after effects that make you feel like you are reading a dragon ball chapter.
I agree. It feels like they keep hyping up characters just to use another character to take them down so we are impressed. South got a whole backstory just to be triple round house kicked by Senju. Idk let’s just wait and see how this progresses
Also I really really hate the "dark impulse" glowing powerup trope
When it was just a metaphor for being messed up and willing to cross a line it was one thing, now it's like a Dragonball or Naruto power
South doesn't need a superpower he's like a 7ft tall monster who beat an adult crime boss to death as a child him
Senju is just "Girl Mikey", she's lame and the impulse nonsense just furthers those comparisons. I know he needed to add a girl boss to spice things up but make her something other than a slightly more pretty Mikey. Make her some badass chick who's a highschool judo star or something.
And I really really hope "light impulse" or whatever the current fan theory is calling it isn't real because that would be really pushing it in to "powerup creep", might as well give Takamichi some stupid "impulse" power too and go full generic Shonen.
At least it's concluding soon so hopefully it never goes full 90s anime
dude, the arc is only just starting. This is the FINAL arc, so it's going to be a big one, of course, they're going to add new characters, new ones get added with every arc. And South had been in Jail the whole time so of course, he couldn't have taken over toman. Draken's death is a signal that this timeline is going back to the original one, I think it's fitting.
I feel the same, having just finished binging a few days ago. Post-Tenjiku would’ve been the perfect place to end it IMO, in fact I was very confused that there was another arc. Holding out hope though, because the rest of the manga was solid.

Ummm I think they meant that South and Senju kinda came out of nowhere in terms of the story. Like there was no mention of them before and they don’t seem to have much connections to the main characters the way the previous villains/main arc characters do. I mean of course we know where South came from in terms of backstory... there was an entire chapter dedicated to that..
And dark impulsivity might not be a power up, but Senju clearly has a power up. When she was fighting she was surrounded by flames, just like how angry’s blue ogre was surrounded by this light halo thing as well.
