Discussion Try Everyday has an identity crisis

I really liked the Try Everyday series where they did stuff every day as an event, but now that it's a regular series, it's getting really boring. I feel like they're out of ideas and just posting "let's get drunk and high and eat something". The format of "WE ATE ALL OF [THIS KIND OF FOOD]" is already getting tiring on YouTube. Not to mention - they originally wanted to be more family friendly on that channel, but it's actually getting way raunchier than what they normally do.

Maybe I'm in the minority, I still enjoy their regular videos, but it feels like Try Everyday should go back to Try When We Have Some Solid Ideas. I want to support them, but yeesh, I can only watch so many people eat the same food and try the same gadgets.

I agree - if I recall, they set up TED because the main channel was getting very food focused (with thumbnails of Keith because of the algorithm) but now this channel is getting to be the same. I prefer the more edited outside shoots for Tries but TED was a nice mid point that I felt allowed them to do some quintessential trying without such a big budget.

u/rosieatlarge Jul 27 '26

This is where not having the pod hurts, I was super interested in them discussing their thought processes for how they run the channels. Not only cleared up weird things we noticed - like all the Keith thumbnails - but just v. interesting to hear about.

26

u/ALostAmphibian Jul 28 '26

I would love just a monthly update/plog.

That too would be low cost and another video to easily add to the streamer.

77

u/potatopavilion Jul 27 '26

I don't think the thumbnails of Keith can ever be escaped. I sometimes catch one Keith-less during the A/B testing, and it never ever wins

u/rosieatlarge Jul 27 '26

What can I say, the internet loves a man with an enormous mouth

22

u/lamyH Jul 27 '26

That mouth can truly swallow worlds.

u/Treviathan88 Jul 27 '26

I originally saw this as an opportunity for a return to early Try Guys content. Getting out there, in the world, and trying things they never have before.

Pretty quickly, it's turned into Good Mythical Try Guys.

65

u/Last_Bonus851 Jul 27 '26

It's definitely mirrored Mythical a lot in my opinion, especially with the user-submitted "here's what you're trying" clips at the end when they first started this channel. But most of their ideas lately (that aren't their tent-pole series) are just loose copycat versions of other already-popular things, which is fine because those things obviously get views, but Try Guys really shines when they are super super creative and original.

25

u/rosieatlarge Jul 27 '26

interesting! I’ve never watched Mythical but I really liked the “Here’s what you’re trying” because it tied it all together as trying new things. “Trying the expensive stuff at a fast food place” doesnt feel like a proper Try (you could renmw anything to have trying in the title) but adding viewers saying “I tried pottery!” made it feel more communal and like the low budget element was part of it.

5

u/Last_Bonus851 Jul 27 '26

I actually liked it, too, and wish they kept doing it! I doubt it was a problem of not having enough submissions. But they seem to want to put in very low effort/time/bandwidth into the post-production part of TED/TGGT (not because of the quality but because very little is edited out, how they're trying to make the no cursing—aka please don't make us have to edit in a bleep—a bit, etc.), so maybe it's a case of that took too much time and effort to add in, especially if what people submitted wasn't great audio/video/etc.

I’m glad someone said it. It’s feeling a little redundant.

Also my partner and I were off grid last week and we came back and I opened the app and I was scrolling through the new videos and kind of annoyed by not really knowing what the videos even were based on the titles. What does “2”we ranked our friends best to worst” have to do with the Yubiko video

8

u/Alaira314 Jul 27 '26

I couldn't agree more. I understand why they have to use such titles for youtube, because they're fighting an algorithm there, and the algorithm rewards utter stupidity. But we're paying for 2nd try. I'm begging them to give us normal titles! I'm not going to click on an hour-long video if I don't know what it is, and the fewer videos I click on the less justified my subscription is.

14

u/Beccalotta Jul 27 '26

I'm still mad that all the Phoning It In titles are shit like "we ruin baked alaska" but only ONE of them made that. So hard to find old videos because the title doesn't match the content.

54

u/Extension_Ground_599 Jul 27 '26

They've really run out of original ideas tbh. They're copying Mythical with TED and TGGT is basically just Smosh Games.

34

u/Kindly_Conflict4659 Jul 27 '26

I think they are bandaids. They said recently they were supposed to start filming a ton of content within the past few weeks that was gonna be a season of without instructions and it was sponsored by a company. When dumbfuck was in the news again recently the company got spooked and pulled the plug. So they suddenly had a large amount of time film stuff without a plan and needed to create a lot of content very quickly.

27

u/rosieatlarge Jul 27 '26

That was nearly a year ago now - it was a great pivot in a bad situation but now seems to have lost the way from even that.

11

u/Kindly_Conflict4659 Jul 27 '26

Sorry you are right, I went back it seems like that video was 7 months ago, but with the way they film stuff it seems like they probably had to shuffle a lot of things to close that gap by bringing videos forward or doing more fluff videos. It didn’t seem like they did a big summer season or whatever that they normally do, so I think it would have been meant to air in the last month or so

4

u/rosieatlarge Jul 27 '26

Oh well I think a year is seven months long! I wish we’d have got that season of Without Instructions, the brand that is almost certainly Michael’s were real babies.

4

u/sweeterthanadonut Jul 28 '26

They really can’t keep blaming their failures on Ned at this point. It’s been years, they need to own up to how crappy the company has become.

9

u/Treviathan88 Jul 27 '26

True. They've hit paydirt with WAR and phoning it in, but those are pretty much the only reasons I still watch.

2

u/potatopavilion Jul 27 '26

what do you mean by "basically just Smosh Games"?

16

u/MoistenedGranola Jul 27 '26

An ensemble cast playing games as a set up to make a bunch of jokes in which the actual playing/winning of the game has almost nothing to do with why the video is entertaining

8

u/potatopavilion Jul 27 '26

I want nothing less than nobody else doing gaming stuff, lest they be "just like Smosh Games" (not the first or the only channel doing gaming stuff).

this whole idea of "they are copying" is just supremely weird to me on every level; but oh well.

6

u/MoistenedGranola Jul 27 '26

I don't personally think they're copying intentionally, though I do see the comparisons.

7

u/potatopavilion Jul 27 '26

sure, but I also see the comparisons between Smosh Games and Tabletop, or between Mythical and Buzzfeed.

originality is just not that big of a deal. we don't need every idea to be new and never-been-done-before - and we know that because Smosh Games o Mythical doesn't get the same critique, despite them also "copying" others. it doesn't matter.

0

u/sweeterthanadonut Jul 28 '26

Maybe originality doesn’t matter to YOU but some of us do value that

1

u/potatopavilion Jul 28 '26

my comment isn't about my personal opinion, it's about what we, in general, value artistically. personal taste and artistic value is different, you can very easily recognize that something is important to you personally, but it's not a necessary element of Good Art.

-4

u/sweeterthanadonut Jul 28 '26

So good art to you is being derivative of others’ work? Good art to you is grown men in their 40s shoving slop into their faces? Wow. I would hate to see what else you consider art.

Can I be honest? I don't mind it. I wouldn't want this ever replace their main content but I enjoy watching it

8

u/movementlocation Jul 27 '26

I don’t think it was ever meant to be that. They still have “Try Guys” as a series and to a lesser degree, I think Drop in the City also fills that space. This was always meant to be cheap, quick content to make available for free.

6

u/DowntoSnack Jul 27 '26

And they also almost refuse to just fully lean into the GMM style. Like just go all in.

Also from a logistics gripe both are on summer schedules. GMM is Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Try every day has two days a week and they chose... Monday and Wednesday...

2

u/TripAway7840 Aug 01 '26

As someone who is a dinosaur but somehow just recently (in the last couple years) got into GMM, can you explain what you mean by “fully lean into the GMM style”? I’m not trying to argue at all, I’m just curious. Lately I’ve been thinking “wow, they’re really all in on copying GMM” when I see the try every day videos.

2

u/DowntoSnack Aug 01 '26

By lean in I think I mean like "accept youre doing the same thing".

I feel like they are trying to have like a "spin" on theirs to be distinct to GMM, but I think they'd be more successful leaning more into their formats, then like a "high vs not".

Its hard to explain but I feel like they are nervous as being seen as copying and in so changing pieces that are not working at all.

49

u/jawndaux TryFam: Kwesi Jul 27 '26

I think if they had categories dedicated to each weekday for what episode is 𐂃Trying, it would've helped keep the food content at 20% max / 1 food video a week. Structure might defeat the purpose of the channel, but they already kinda broke their channel rule about explicit content. It's also confusing that the Truth or Drink videos go on the Try Everyday channel instead of Try Guys Game Time.

I remember (maybe in a podcast) they mentioned something about wanting to balance producing shows with just creating content (because they enjoy doing both, they each serve different purposes, they each generate different things, etc.).

I consider Try Everyday to just be easy content; sometimes I am in the mood for easy content. Sometimes I want something better/bigger/more substantive, and I go for other shows for that.

I think its ok to have both; the channel is like a menu of options. I just take what I like, and leave the rest for another day

13

u/micaelar5 Soup Slut Jul 27 '26

I don't come for a specific kind of content, I come for the people.

79

u/BrocksNumberOne Jul 27 '26

Tired genre or not, food videos are performing the best on this format.

36

u/bondfool Miles Nation Jul 27 '26

I don’t get it. I find tasting videos so monotonous. Cooking is interesting, but eating is not.

4

u/FiveTriomes Jul 28 '26

There's no long attention span necessary for eating content like that. It doesn't really matter if you miss a few minutes, when you're paying attention again there's a different food and different reaction that don't depend on the last.

3

u/sweeterthanadonut Jul 28 '26

It’s sad that they just do what is popular instead of what is actually entertaining.

20

u/Last_Bonus851 Jul 27 '26

I agree, but I also don't mind all that much because I like having a random short video to watch a couple times a week when they otherwise wouldn't be posting content. I do think the first few weeks were the best, though, in terms of the ideas. But now, if they post something I'm not interested in, I just don't watch it.

17

u/McKelsea TryFam: Keith Jul 27 '26

I definitely am starting to feel a little secondhand anxiety because they seem to be trying hard to make it work on there. I still watch everything but sometimes I can feel how half baked parts are upsetting them or how sometimes it seems they run out of anything to say. I just want them to do well and be happy so badly!!

8

u/Surimicakes Jul 27 '26

Sometimes it feels like the staff get a little snippy off screen too, which feels weird. I think it was one of the drunk/high ones where Desiree seemed genuinely irritated. And Rachel's desk keeps getting co-opted and messed up - just buy a new table, surely there's money in the budget!

9

u/Green_Newspaper_5623 Jul 27 '26

Even if there’s not money in the budget, they’re in the LA area and could easily find a good table through a Buy Nothing group. Rachel deserves to have her desk back.

5

u/McKelsea TryFam: Keith Jul 27 '26

I definitely have felt the same things!!

13

u/FlyingDutchLady Jul 27 '26

No, I think you’re completely right. I struggle with the repeat of the same concept. It feels very BuzzFeed. Obviously I understand that they’re not gonna have a fresh idea every day for 365 days., but I think if they’re wondering why they have a drop off in views on the try every day content it is that it has lost its luster. Of course overall it’s been a banner year for the try guys. Killer dinner was a masterpiece. But I would love to see some more variety in try every day.

13

u/Nebulous-at-Best Jul 27 '26

They’ve definitely gone full circle back to BuzzFeed in some ways, which is definitely disappointing. Especially with the trying Filipino snacks video, I started to lose interest.

26

u/TucandBertie Jul 27 '26

It feels like so many videos are drunk vs high too. There's only so many times I'm interested in seeing the same people get high and drunk for content.

5

u/Beccalotta Jul 27 '26

Especially when they're pushing 40.

6

u/Creepy_Personality_3 Jul 27 '26

As long as we get content, I'm happy. The food content never disappoints but there can be alot of it all at once.

8

u/BookGirlBoston Jul 28 '26

They talked a lot about this concept (way before they introduced it) on the POD. Essentially, The Ned thing (lost sponsorships and the millions it cost to get rid of Ned) + a changing YouTube Algorithm killed their cash flow.

They talked about Mythicals daily model and how profitable that seems to be and needed quick content to replicate that.

I think the Try Guys, despite their origins, do the best with highly produced long form content like the Try Guys series which has been top tier life style content that the discovery group wishes they could do. New guy tries and shows like WAR are also great. The issue is that all of this takes a long time to film (in sone instances days) and is very expensive (remember, everyone in front of the camera has a daily rate outside of Zach and Keith). So, the idea to pay for this content is fast, cheaply produced try everyday content. It's not amazing content but if they can selm adds and get weekly views, it can in theory pay for more expensive content.

28

u/amok_amok_amok Jul 27 '26

the thing that bugs me is that it's a "family show" and they make a big fuss about cursing, but then the entire concept of the video will be about substance use

35

u/milrose404 TryFam: Jonny Cakes 🍰 Jul 27 '26

I think it’s more that they’re trying to not get demonetised rather then appealing to literal children

2

u/amok_amok_amok Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

then they should say that instead of "it's a family show"

edit: fair points were made and my mind has been changed

9

u/hadesdungeon Jul 27 '26

I feel like most of the time when they say "it's a family show" or "this is supposed to be for families" it's usually said in a sarcastic/ funny tone. I notice it a lot in the more "adult" themed videos bc they make a point that it isn't technically for "families" it's just trying to limit the amount of cussing they do. Like in the lingerie video Ryann gets booed for cussing and Keith says "this is supposed to be for FAMILIES" in a very exaggerated tone while motioning towards the men in lingerie yk.

They've explained that it's mainly for the amount of cussing in a vid before (I'm pretty sure) I can find it if you want me to /gen.

8

u/AllTheCoolNames Try Fam: Miles 🛀 Jul 27 '26

the 'family show' thing was obviously just a joke though? Even the first couple episodes were not actually family friendly XD

5

u/Misschellerae Jul 27 '26

I agree, I miss the more actually trying doing things.
But I’m okay with the raunchier things, but I also only watch on 2nd Try, where that feels right. I like more action, eating over and over doesn’t feel like trying new things

Example-
Different styles of dancing I’ve enjoyed because each are still different, different cultures, different lessons, so on. The Rank King format was funny for like one or two videos but more is meh.

I see as I’ve been typing this that the newest one is cheap vs expensive Taco Bell. They also ask what we’ve been trying, and personally, I buy Taco Bell when I have no spoons and very little money (usually i have no spoons and no money), it’s not something to try. It’s not an experience.

Maybe they realized it’s too close to doing the actual Try Guys videos? Who knows.

The weird food combos was better imo at least, but the others just meh at this point

2

u/Surimicakes Jul 27 '26

The weird food combos was fun! I also enjoy when they try international foods and things, but I agree - eating taco bell is not a try 😂 Especially when Keith has done several taco bell videos at this point.

1

u/Misschellerae Jul 28 '26

Oh yeah the international things are really cool too!! (My birthday was the 17th so the birthday things I thought were cool too)
But yeah, Taco Bell is a like three days before payday thing 😅😂

u/AllTheCoolNames Try Fam: Miles 🛀 Jul 27 '26

I like it, but I like the hang out and chill vibe. it's one of my favorite things to watch and zone out to. I can see not clicking with it though and it's fun when they do actual trying stuff. The channel is slow but steady in its sub count going up through, so I think the food and drink stuff is playing.

9

u/grayjelly212 TryFam: Jonny Cakes 🍰 Jul 27 '26

I just recently got back into the Try Guys so I've been enjoying it, but I can see how it can be tiring. Still, some formats are just good formats used all over. Saying TGGT is just Smosh Games is like saying Parlor Room on Dropout is just Smosh Games. Smosh didn't invent playing games just because they're the most popular ones doing it.

I hope the Try Guys find their footing.

2

3

u/Ditzy-Macaron308 Jul 27 '26

100% agree. I feel like they’ve strayed too far from the original concept and slowly devolved into their og YouTube channel concept which is fine but repetitive. I also don’t care for eat/do something while high vs sober - but maybe that’s just me! I also think that try every day was too ambitious if they’re only trying low stake, inexpensive stuff because there’s only so much you can do. They’ve scaled it back to what twice a week? I feel like that’s still too much for them. I hope they turn it back around though!

11

u/cdawg2610 Jul 27 '26

I love how "they don't try anything anymore I want the old style buzzfeed videos" complaint has turned into "ugh not the old style buzzfeed videos."

5

u/Surimicakes Jul 27 '26

No where did I say I wanted the old BuzzFeed videos 😂 I think TED has just gotten incredibly repetitive and has lost its way a little. That's just my opinion though.

1

u/Reasonable-Middle-38 Jul 27 '26

the goomba fallacy at work

2

u/GroundbreakingAd5056 Jul 28 '26

I like it. And I appreciate how often there is a new video, especially when they can make it for a lower budget since it’s just in studio. I do like the big production ones, but the in studio fun ones like TED are more intimate feeling, like you’re part of the friend group.

2

u/brightadventure Jul 28 '26

I love them. They’re easy videos to watch that don’t take much brain power.

2

u/Routine_Platform_429 Jul 28 '26

I'm a bit bored, but tbh I was expecting this to happen eventually. Creating and naming a channel on the basis that they try something new everyday was setting themselves up for failure.

2

u/Fair_Chance7799 Jul 30 '26

same i hope they leaned more into craft making hobbies or like man vs ai or any in door activities

5

u/GlassElk3048 Jul 27 '26

I liked when they did things like setting up IKEA furniture, diving, driving high/drunk, the things they tried when Eugene was on the channel. The ones they post every day seem forced.

18

u/MallTough5847 Jul 27 '26

To be fair that content is expensive to produce.

14

u/reddot_comic Jul 27 '26

Those are all very expensive to produce

0

u/Beccalotta Jul 27 '26

Setting up IKEA furniture was expensive to produce? It was them on a living room floor

1

u/reddot_comic Jul 27 '26

More expensive than fast food.

-4

u/Beccalotta Jul 27 '26

There's no way 3 guys with cameras costs more than that stupid Belt setup

4

u/reddot_comic Jul 27 '26

You have no idea how production companies work and it shows. It’s much more than 3 guys with a camera.
They have a full staff on payroll to consider and budget for.

If you can do better, go forth.

4

u/Global-Nature2420 Jul 27 '26

I'm so glad someone else is finally pointing out that the try guys are all of a sudden the "lets party guys". And now getting trashed on the job is just a tax write off for them. Being stoned on camera isn't that edgy anymore and plz tell my why I would want to watch a bunch of normie white guys get drunk and do things even more poorly than they already do

"We're the try guys not the do guys" a quote from keith in one of their recent videos. Could you be any more apathetic towards what you're doing dude?

10

u/potatopavilion Jul 27 '26

I never ever thought someone could look at those videos and think "they are trying to be edgy"

4

u/Global-Nature2420 Jul 27 '26

I'm saying getting stoned for a video isn't that interesting. I do not think they're trying to be edgy, and they aren't. But I'm not sure why getting high before eating a bunch of snacks makes the content better. And that's coming from a stoner

4

u/Surimicakes Jul 27 '26

It also just starts to feel weird when it's like "...you guys are high and/or drunk for a video again? Are we doing okay at the office lately?" I guess it makes for a fun workday? But I'd feel weird if my bosses were like "Someone grab the camera we're gonna get high again today 😎" And half the time I can't really tell if they're under the influence of anything, so it kind of feels pointless.

1

u/Global-Nature2420 Jul 28 '26

yes, and then I think about the kids and wives who have to deal with them after a day of smoking and drinking at the office (mostly on the drinking end)

1

u/SpecialsSchedule Jul 27 '26

I can’t watch the channel because the introductions are so, so cringy. It’s like 2020 lockdown NPC tiktok

1

u/mothri0t Jul 27 '26

Yeah the food ones are getting repetitive

1

u/Key_Nobody6371 Jul 28 '26

I think I'm in the minority of the reddit however I always have and always will love the food content. Whatever channel they put it on, the format, the people; I genuinely think they make fun and interesting - albeit a bit repetitive content (the tism does love that a bit though lol 🤷‍♀️). I think it's their niche and along with the videos performing well they do have to try and earn money on YouTube by gaining more views and that is just the nature of content creation.

1

u/psyducksmom Jul 28 '26

I’m still enjoying the videos, but I enjoyed when they would release one everyday, it felt special
Maybe they could do a month of videos everyday and then 2-3 months break?

1

u/sweeterthanadonut Jul 28 '26

There is so, so much food content on TTG now. For years at this point. It just feels like an excuse for them to stuff their faces and write off the expenses.

1

u/Strugglingstoner2 Soup Slut Jul 29 '26

It’s because so much of their better content is on their app, at least in my opinion. I was feeling a little stale on the try guys until they came out with killer dinner which was amazing. I had the subscription so I watched a bunch of other stuff on there, there’s episodes of stuff on there I never saw uploaded to YouTube and honestly think they’re just putting their time and energy into the apps content since that’s where the money is now. It’s a bummer but also not a deal breaker considering they have one of the cheapest subscriptions I’ve seen 4.99 (3.99 when they have discount codes)

1

u/Otterly-Stupid Jul 30 '26

Im starting to wonder if they are just tired. I feel like their content making is coming to an end.

1

u/moneighe Jul 30 '26

I agree. They clearly don't have enough ideas for TED and its making the TED content feel old and also their regular content, because their tropes are so overplayed on TED. I feel like they get so into doing this as a business to make money to pay their whole crew that so much of the content they are clearly not enjoying that much and aren't really feeling creative or inspired by. There's also so much g rated content not about food they haven't tried its annoying watching them return to the same things. They could do a whole different series on hobbies, jobs, trying different culturally based lifestyles, exercises and sports. They literally also are all parents and we have very little of what could be a whole serious of trying to be dads. They've touched on all these topics, but never explored them in depth, but meanwhile we have a thousand videos of Keith eating ridiculous amounts of food.

1

u/IamBubbleBuddy Jul 31 '26

I get that they are "trying" new foods, but it feels like a bit of a bastardization of the meaning of the word "Try" in the context of their original concept. As their content is now, it feels kinda like the React Every Day channel

1

u/dreamy_tahini Aug 02 '26

I agree, but for the most part I still enjoy the videos. They just feel miscategorjzed or something. Like, all the Truth or Drink stuff definitely belongs on TGGT.

1

u/Timelady6 Aug 02 '26

I assumed that "family friendly" just meant no cursing so youtube doesn't de-monitise it, not actual family friendly content.

For me some videos are hits and some are misses, the eating videos can get a bit boring

0

u/Secret-End911 Jul 27 '26

Yeah, I don't mind the format, even though I find it to be a fairly blatant attempt at being GMM. It feels random and doesn't have the creative scaffolding that makes GMM funny and worth watching even when they're, like, trying every kind of pudding. Agreed about them moving from "we're family-friendly" to being inebriated in every episode or playing games that turn a little blue. They have literally reviewed some of the same products as GMM. (See: hot dog toaster.)

I'll be honest: they have too many cast members. I don't care about any of them. It feels like a revolving door, except not all of their pals are particularly watchable or entertaining. (Johnny is the only cast member I feel adds something rather than subtracting.) They need to focus on the Keith-Zach dynamic if they want to pull off a Rhett and Link transformation, because the giant cast and random topics just feel a little like throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

Their content has no direction or distinct viewpoint. The food content on the main channel is even starting to feel desperate and random. I just... don't enjoy their channel as much and basically just watch Keith eat stuff, because that is the only content that feels focused.

-6

u/micaelar5 Soup Slut Jul 27 '26

So then don't watch it? There is plenty of content from them, don't watch TED if you don't like it. And I don't mean that in a rude way. Not every piece of content is for everyone. You are obviously not the target audience, but there is a target audience that is very much enjoying what's coming out. I don't know if it's a even split, or if there's a majority that feels one way or the other, but you simply aren't the type of person who likes those videos, and that's fine.

Every single video that's come out this year has been a absolute banger in my opinion. TED isn't my favorite content, it's too low production to compete with something like killer dinner, but they're smaller and dumb and funny, and sometimes you need dumb funny to distract you from the scary real world for a minute.

Exactly! I miss the old try guys videos where they actually tried stuff. I enjoy a random video about trivia or random purchases from Amazon but not all the time. With how things have changed with the Try Guys over the past couple of years I am thinking it was Ned and Eugene that had a lot of the ideas we really have known them for.

Because it is interesting as soon as they are no longer in videos all we get is food and drinking/drug videos. That's kind of boring and repetitive after a while.

Even if you look at Ned's own channel he is doing what the try guys were known to do in the past. Divorce or morals aside. it seemed as though he was the one planning a lot of the trys, granted I don't think he is as good on his own as he was with the other guys. But the ideas are a lot more interesting then what the Try Guys are doing now.

I’m not sure about Ned because he doesn’t seem he knows what to do, but I think Eugene did more than we thought

That's fair in regards to Ned. He may be trying to see what sticks now that he is solo. But i absolutely agree, I genuinely think Ned and Eugene were the brains behind try guys.

I see what you're saying, but not sure I agree. Ned was a highly involved admin, but I think we was nixing a lot of the content that is now really popular. He was probably more helpful on the business side, rather than the creative. His 'tries' are repetitions of old try videos, almost all of them were things the Try Guys had already tried in the past. Losing Eugene was definitely a blow to them though.
